This was our first visit since they started making Chicago style pies. Since we've spent a fair amount of time in Chicago eating a variety of deep dish pizzas, we've been excited to have this new opportunity locally. My wife and I agreed that this was closest to Lou Malnatis for those seeking a Chi town comparison. We chose the Abe Froman. There was a bit less sausage than the comparison pie, but was still excellent. The sausage was clearly high quality and the sauce was also quite good. The crust was also excellent. This is truly a wonderful pie that will give you a nice feel for what Chicago deep dish is all about. For those getting sticker shock, remember this will give 2-3 solid meals for two people. Thanks to Barbi (sp?) as she did a really nice job working the entire room while we were there. It was a pretty full house and she kept drinks topped off and checked in often. We'll most definitely be back for another one when we have a hankering for deep dish. read more

A group of us rode out motorcycles out here from Spokane. It was a great place. We sat outdoors on the patio. Great friendly atmosphere and service. Pizza was delicious. Awesome ice cream cones for dessert! We enjoyed the 2 hrs we spent there and will be back. read more

Big Red's was my favorite spot to grab a sandwich on my way home from college about ten years ago. After all this time they have opened a new spot and the pepper steak hit just as hard as it did back then. The pizza and chicago dog also just incredible. What an amazing experience, and I'm so thankful that I got to meet the owners and profess my love for their food. The Ryne Sandberg pizza is absolutely delicious! The crust, sauce and toppings are all quality ingredients and it is cooked to perfection. The service is excellent as well. She came over just at the right time to order another beer. The sandwiches coming out of the kitchen looked so good, I will be trying one of those on my next visit. Just ran across this gem. Deep dish pizza with quality ingredients and gluten free pizza that you would never guess was gluten free. They have wonderful vintage pinballs and arcade games. My family loved restaurant and staff and are looking forward to going this summer and also using the outdoor patio. It's a little loud but they accommodated us by turning down the music when asked. Doing a great job since taking over for Ron. Food truck is a nice addition. With the weather already in the 80°'s in May, it would be nice to have live music already and I've been told music will NOT be every Saturday, which is a bit disappointing, but I get it. I ordered a McAlester pizza and was given less cheese and a standard Chicago I literally said where is my cheese The solution was to offer me 20% off and some free ice cream I came for pizza why would I be offered 20% off when I had 50% missing cheese I will include the photo showing the cheese is not even as thick as my butter knife almost. This pizza is a step up and the Real Deal Chicago style. Sauce is really good, not cheap sweet stuff. The meat is good quality too. You can taste the love, pride and effort they put into it. After seeing so many rave reviews about this place we had to try it out. Midday Saturday and they were packed. The only seats available meant having to ask if we could share a table with a group of people already seated. We didnt exactly want a communal lunch but we had no choice and they graciously allowed us to sit at the other end of the long table so we started looking at menus. I glanced over at an elderly woman in a scooter chair under a blanket. At first I thought it was just a personal choice or need but soon realized they should be handing out blankets at the door to EVERYONE---we froze! The extremely small space means everyone is basically sitting right by the door and every time it opened a blast of icy cold air had us shivering for minutesafterwards. We ordered a personal pizza and garlic bites and then waited. And waited. And waited. We thought it was odd that even though our original "table mates" had finished, left, and new people had sat down at the other end of the table....they got food before us. They were served the same garlic bites we ordered in fact. We weren't exactly pleased but the place was busy so we didn't say anything and kept waiting. And waiting. The extremely long wait and MIA garlic bites soon added up--they gave our garlic bites to the people at the other end of the table. We finally got our pizza and the waitress said she would get our garlic bites out asap and we wouldn't be charged. Ok...things happen and we once again just rolled with it. Our personal pizza was served on a regular dinner plate that was way too small for the pizza-- that, and the fact that a dinner plate is raised on the edges sent all the toppings and cheese from the edges of our hot pizza sliding to the middle. All the photos we had seen on social media and the food we saw being delivered to other tables looked amazing....so we sat there looking at our wet, sloppy pizza, wondering why we got the pizza that looked like it was dropped on the floor. We literally looked at our pizza and then looked at the pizza on tables around us and said "we want THAT pizza!" The pizza was so sloppy it couldn't be picked up...a fork was necessary, in fact we almost needed a spoon. Our waitress never came back to ask how everything was but she did drop off our garlic bites and the check as she walked by (after we had attempted to eat our pizza and were ready to leave). The garlic bites didn't look right either...and we soon figured out why. Almost burned on the outside and completely raw in the middle. Straight up wet dough. We took the pizza but left the garlic bites on the table in their container with the lid open to show the waitress we didn't leave them on accident. We took our left over pizza but by the time we got home it was sitting in a pool of grease. There was no saving it and it went in the trash. Not sure what went wrong or why everyone else got the amazing looking and tasting food and we got slop....but the person in the kitchen saw the mess of a pizza they sent out---and then the waitress saw it and should have known it shouldn't be served but she did it anyway. Same with the garlic bites. I am confident that my review would have gone a different way had we been served the same food that we saw being delivered to everyone around us. The customers who ate our garlic bites said they were delicious. Unfortunately we didnt get the chance to find out. We gave every bit of patience and understanding we had and were rewarded with inedible food after a ridiculously long wait...all while literally sitting next to people who were eating our food. Table numbers matter. Consistency matters. Quality checks matter. So disappointing. We won't be back. read more

It will definitely take you back to your childhood if you were a child of the 80's and 90's it has a neighborhood pizza parlor vibe. The staff was friendly and the pizza was very good. We ended up ordering a second pepperoni to take home. It is fun for the kids to pick out their ice cream flavor and watch it being scooped into the cone. I am glad we have this neighborhood 'go to place' when our grand kids visiting. read more

This is a great little place located just off (2) Newport Highway. My wife and I have eaten here twice so far and we intend to visit often. We ordered a combination pizza, cooked and enjoyed at the establishment. The beer was cold and their Colbert Trading Co. labelled red blend wine was fantastic. The reason they get four stars is the guy that runs the place is awesome, but the staff he has when away, are lacking in skill.. Time management and social awareness are the girls down fall.
