I had read some less than enthusiastic reviews about not being able to hear the captain over the microphone. Which if you DO NOT sit over the engine, you hear just fine if you want. It was a lovely excursion with the right amount of trivia sprinkled in on occasion. The staff was pleasant. The views and the 'big sky' from the water were OUTSTANDING. The price was more than reasonable for an almost two hour tour. It really was a highlight of my stay in Lakeside. Thank you!!!

Bill is extremely knowledgable of the area; how the lake, mountains and islands came to be, wildlife etc, plus his personality made this a true local experience (he has been doing this for 20 yrs!). We wanted to see the lake, the wild horses and do some hiking without large crowds or hassle and we got it here plus some.He even took us to see some Tribal markings and told us the history behind it - incredible. My fiancé and I hiked for hours on the secluded Wild Horse Island and saw bucks, bald eagles, doe, sheep, rams and of course gorgeous wild horses!! The fact that we were the only people on the island was a plus, all animals roaming free and no people. First thing in the morning I called to let them know (I'm 1 1/2 hours away). Within an hour I was called and nastily asked "where was I". When we arrived ours was the only boat in a slip, with more than 15 empty ones. The boat would still not start. I asked for a tow over to the ramp to pull it out of the water. They said they were too busy and to come back in 1 1/2 hours, which I did. They told me they were still busy but get my boat out--I guess he expected this 72 year old to swim it over. I got a tow from another boater. The ramp is adjacent to their business, literally a few feet from them. Without the engine, it is difficult to get the boat on the trailer. My 70 year old wife and I struggled to get it on properly while about 5 harbor workers "buisily" arranged life jackets and other items for the day ahead while watching us struggle. We did get it done, but 10 minutes of help would have made it a simple process. After completion I complained to the "boss". His smart ads reaction was..."have a nice day". Businesses with this kind of management and attitude should not exist and give way to those who are not assholes. I have boated Flathead lake for 50 years and have never had this kind of experience...especially from a commercial company. On countless occasions I have helped distressed boaters...often when it was inconvenient. This behaviors is a disgrace.

Which was accomplished after reviving the fish by rushing water through its gills. I doubt that I will ever experience a day of fishing like this again in my life. This was my 6th trip with Howe's fishing. I have never caught less then three fish. In fact Captain Cameron and I have caught 8, 12, 16 and today 20 fish on our last 4 trips. Howe's might be a little more expensive then other charter companies in the Flathead Valle. They have the best captains, fishing gear, boats then ANYONE else. "Don't step over a dollar to pick up a quarter", the same goes to fishing. Trust me, pictures do not lie.

Ice capped peaks as far as the eye can see, some glaciers, lakes a waterfalls can be viewed. Easily one of the top helicopter rides we've been on. The reservation process is a bit tricky and played by ear. You get an initial confirmation then a second confirmation the night before. We were able to book the day before and they were very accommodating. The weather is highly variable in Glacier Park and understandably they may have to cancel depending on the weather. However it worked out for us.

If the weather is bad, they will cancel for safety reasons, so we were blessed with beautiful weather. A must do.
