Great trail for walking or hiking. I've only visited twice and this was my first time walking the…read more3 miles. Greenway has such scenic views. This weekend I came across many people and the majority had their pups with them. Along the way there was plenty of seating and trash cans which were strategically placed. And though this trail is considered easy, there are a few hills that make it moderate. You will definitely get a workout if you visit. There seemed to be a great deal of parking available however when I left it was quite full.

It's Spring and that time of year to go see the sights at Signal Mountain…read more What I mean are the breathtaking views from the top of the mountains. They call this 'The Brow', partly because of the shape it makes viewing it from the ground, and also because of the views you can see of the ground from up top the mountains. Along the way there are beautiful things blooming, turning gorgeous colors. Lots of green, lots of flowers with different shapes and colors. There are winding roads leading up so high that you have to swallow to catch your own hearing again from the sudden height increase. You'll see waterfalls along the roads of every kind. Tiny little trickles of water coming from behind the huge outcroppings of granite and also many gushing long waterfalls, too. Flowers galore. Blooming trees and lakes. Nature. All of it is pretty and all of it worthy of a trip out to take a drive or a nice long hike.

It rained so it was nice to have the area below to sit and eat and enjoy the weather out of the rain. A really cool waterfall was near by on the property as well. It's close to town and different state parks. We visited Foster falls and Denny's Cove, about 20 minutes away, and loved them. Grant gave us a personalized tour and checked in to see how things were going. Would definitely stay again and hope to soon!!

I was in the Harrison area for a long weekend with my husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law…read more We picked Harrison Bay State Park for our morning hike on Sunday morning. We love a good hike, so we picked the park's longest hike - the Bay Point Loop trail (a 4.5-mile loop). The park's website calls the trail "moderate" but we definitely felt it was easy. Very flat and not very strenuous - more of a walk than a hike! But the entire trail loops around a winding peninsula on Harrison Bay - so you have water views throughout the hike (which was lovely)! Even on a Sunday during our COVID summer, the trail wasn't crowded. We only saw a few other hikers or runners. The trail is a little hard to find - the park's signage isn't great - but if you find the parking lot behind the marina, the trail is sort of hiding at the back of the parking lot. For a fairly easy hike, this trail has some gorgeous water views. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

The waterfall at the end is beautiful and made a perfect spot to rest. We let Luna take a quick swim to cool off, but were very cautious about her not drinking the water. I had done quite a bit of research beforehand and found mixed reviews about the water quality. Most concerns centered around contamination within 24-48 hours after rainfall. Since it hadn't rained recently, we felt confident it was safe, and thankfully, Luna had no issues after swimming.
