Renaissance Park is a great public space to walk and get a little nature. Trails, bridges, art installations are all around. Pet friendly too! Just remember to clean up any .....pet deposits. One of the main draws of this park would be the sledding hill. You can bring you snow sled or a large piece of cardboard and give it a try! It's the tallest hill closer to the apartments facing the main atreet. Often there will be cardboard in the hill just waiting to be sled in. Keep in mind the weather can have impact on how fast you'll go. Parking is paid at machines around the park. Don't get a ticket! Renaissance Park is just haven't to Cooliage Park and the Walnut Bride so you can really get your walk in as long as you remember to pay for parking!

After hiking in Stringers Ridge I walked down here to Renaissance, cut through to Coolidge Park, then walked across the bridge to downtown Chattanooga. If you like walking that's a good one, and will let you see a lot on a beautiful day. Renaissance is more hilly and quiet with less tourists, but the park connects to busier Coolidge. You have various overlooks that allow you views of the wetlands with these structures called Gabions that redirect the water and allow plant life to flourish. They create a really interesting visual.

One of the few dog friendly parks in Chattanooga, we love the trails and different terrains it offers up for visitors exploring its paths. This park also has plenty of benches, a picnic pavilion, and so many unique features to check out. With it being so close to a variety of dining establishments and shops, it is the perfect location for a picnic when downtown in the Northshore area. *parking is on a few basis, except for on Sundays

So what does a group of classy, professional 40 year old women do on a girls trip to Chattanooga? Head right to the top of cardboard hill in Renaissance Park and slide down it, of course! I had read the reviews mentioning the slide down and wanted to try it but was a bit apprehensive. It was a little scary at first, I'm not going to lie. But we found some old boxes left behind and after some careful research we let er rip. The best way to go down is on your stomach, down the steepest part. You might get a little grass burn, but the lip will catch you so you don't go flying off to your doom! Fun times to be had for sure. Highly recommend!

Overlooking the river. The Aquarium is on the other side of the water.

Ask the Community - Renaissance Park

    Can you rent bikes there?

Yes, there are several spots you can rent bikes and electric bikes too! Most require a credit card and are closer to Coolidge Park. Super close and walkable.
