I cannot say enough good things about Big T Movers. Over the last few years we've had occasion to work with several moving companies and in every circumstance they've either no-showed, showed up late, been careless with our belongings, or some other problem has come up. This time we had a lot of moving parts including an appliance swap between two homes, items being moved to storage and garage, and other issues. I found Big T via a Yelp search and crossed my fingers that this time we wouldn't have any problems. Not only did we not have problems, the service we received was superlative. Angie in the office worked with me through changes of date and scope multiple times and was always cheerful and accommodating. She provided all the information I needed to feel confident that movers would be here on the day and on time. On the day of the move, Jay and his crew called first and then arrived right when planned. They were fast and efficient while still taking care of all of our things. They wrapped and padded all the furniture and appliances. They dealt with a rainy, muddy, cold move situation, too small doorways, and a few other issues without even blinking. They even moved my freakishly heavy kamado grill and grill table around both houses, through the mud, and up some pretty janky deck stairs. What a genuinely helpful company from the dispatcher to the movers! These guys made up for what Fox Moving had created a nightmare of! Was walking across the street and was nearly ran over by there truck, keep in mind I'm already severely injured badly. As walking passed the truck the driver drove slow and the passenger rolled down his window and said "your a bitch". Contacted management as they have done nothing about it. I have no dealings with this company as far as moving but. Just that small incident let's me know they are unprofessional and I would never hire them to move even a toy for me . read more

Super disappointed with move. Communication pre-move was great. Lots of promises were made. However upon day of the move, it was tragic! I had five movers, and my move started early in the morning. For some reason they seemed really inexperienced navigating with the truck, and ended up taking out an ENTIRE STOP SIGN in my development. They refused to call the police to report this incident, and said that it was my responsibility. They left before the police arrived. My HOA contacted me every day about this incident!!!! Although they assumed responsibility, because they knew they caused the incident!!!! They refused to take ownership!!! We paid a deposit, and scheduled our date to move. About 4 days before the move, we received a call from a different moving company telling us Big T Moving had contacted them to see if they could take over all the moves they had scheduled. Apparently Big T was filing bankruptcy and did not have the decency to reach out to us to apologize or offer a refund of our $250 deposit. The other moving company had better rates, and we were still able to move the same day we had originally scheduled. However, we never did get a refund from Big T. I had to go through my bank to get the money back. Terrible and highly stressful experience. At least they've gone out of business and no one else gets taken advantage of this way. read more

5-star. I've asked a move to 1-hr away in Atlanta area. Great service, pre-move communication went well, no unclarity for the arrival time, which we've had huge troubles with our past couple of (inter-state) moves. On the day we got 30 mins notice before arrival, and they were punctual. Communication with movers went well, so did the move. Only request is that if they could offer covering shoes that could've been even great but that's small. Happy to find this service. read more

Honestly, I was a little dismayed when I first called them. The reception is a bit pushy/salesy. But the move had to happen and they had the manpower so I hired them for my short notice load service. I could not be happier! They worked so hard and not a single minute was wasted. The respect and courtesy shown everyone in the family was top notch and they handled all our stuff with care. I'm glad our move is behind us and if not for this team of guys from Big T moving my review may be a bit different. Dexter and his crew arrived on time, despite usual Atlanta traffic. Once they arrived, we did a walk thru and they went right to work. These guys definitely made it easier. Honestly, I thought they would be here all day. I would avoid using the Big T Movers from my own bad experience with the company. I've never written a review before on any company, but felt the need to call out terrible performance and lack of full accountability. I was displeased with the actual move itself and the improper equipment used. It caused the job to take 3x longer and made the process much more challenging and dangerous. I had to break out my saw to cut part of my decking away because these guys didn't bring the proper lift straps. I watched the original moving crew that delivered my refrigerator and it was painless and incredibly efficient. However, Big T Movers brought the wrong equipment and the two guys didn't work together. It was painful to watch them trying to move my refrigerator without tearing it up. Lastly and most importantly, they disconnected the water line and it took about 5 minutes. I wasn't sure what was going on behind the unit but it took way too long. The shut off valve got damaged and the crew member went about his busin and didn't say anything. 6 hours later, the ceiling came crashing down. After some reluctanc, they finally took blame for their actions but only willing to pay for part of the damages caused. I refused to settle because they will continue to mistreat customers and take advantage. for these reasons, I suggest staying away. read more

Movers Beware! Hired them to move several rooms of furniture. They arrived on time and were nice guys. However, they leaned a bed rail against the wall and when they walked away, it slid down the wall and crashed into the bedroom door. There is now a large hole in my door and since it is a hollow door, it can't really be fixed. The door must be replaced. The mover made a mistake, it happened on accident, and he apologized at least ten times. HOWEVER, the rest of the story is a hot mess! I made a claim with the company to have it fixed, and they are "generously" offering me $30 for the door because the basic insurance they provide is "by the pound." Seriously? I have to go to Home Depot and buy a door and a door knob and have it installed because of a bad decision made by their moving guy! I can't wait to spend my time buying a door, installing it, painting it, etc. when it was perfectly fine before Big T came to my house. What an inconvenience and a pain in the neck! Please be careful about choosing this company -- this could happen to anyone. Now I have a mess on my hands and a whopping $30 to pay for it. We have used Big T twice. Once, our items remained on the truck (a pay service) for a couple days and then they were moved into our new residence. That was in 2012 under the old management. We were so happy with that move (although a couple items did get banged up, that can be the nature of a large move) that we just used them again. They moved all our household items into storage (and did an excellent job of packing them in a 10 x 20 so everything fit). They then moved everything to our new townhouse a month later (two different staircases). Everything went super smoothly with the guys moving us. Not one nick to the walls nor broken item. This would be a 5 star review but the office didn't send a big enough truck so the guys had to make two trips. Luckily we only moved 4 miles from the storage unit. The office did waive the credit card fee though. The price is very reasonable and the guys are very strong and super respectful. read more

Needed a large treadmill moved from upstairs to basement. I was quoted $200 and booked a crew. Last minute, I thankfully asked if the crew would have tools to disassemble if needed. I was then told that I would be charged an additional $150 per hour if any tools were used. This information was never disclosed when I called in two times to discuss pricing and needs. Not up front and clear with pricing. Could never commit to a set price for me so I cancelled. Will not be calling again. I booked them after I received a couple of recommendations for them from local furniture consignment stores. I also got the "Senior Special" price of $100 an hour for two movers and a 26 foot truck. Alex asked me for a $200 deposit which would reserve my time. He called to re-confirm, emailed and texted as well. Juan and Donny arrived on time, in uniform and went right to work. No breaks or dilly dallying like with other movers I'd used. They protected my furniture and belongings with pads and wraps; before I knew it they were unloading at my new condo. I have used Big T movers about 4-5 times. All small moves. First my moms delicate little Grandma things from facility to facility. Everything went perfectly. Also In the past I had them clean out 2 storage rentals and take to habitat and other relatives homes. This week I had them take a lot of heavy furniture from a lower level up a hill and across the yard and take to Goodwill. Most charities won't take things up or down stairs. It was worth every penny. A new 55" television (purchase for $1,600) and an $800 framed photo were destroyed during the move and I've been offered $180 for both (they consider this generous and fair). The supervisor who showed up on move-day stated the insurance was .60 cents per pound for the entire shipment. In fact, as stated on the contract, it was .60 cents per pound, per item. It was moving day, you know how that is...? I didn't read the contract but instead trusted what was stated to me. Contractually they are not obligated to pay more than .60 per pound per item. Ethically, i was hoping they would do the right thing. Their final offer was $180 for the TV and Picture ($300 total offer, which included $120 for cleaning a soiled sofa -- so $180 for a $1,600 TV destroyed and $800 painting crushed). They should better train their on-site supervisor to explain to people with nice things that it is ".60 cents per pound, PER ITEM," which means high valued, low weight items, if damaged, will not be appropriately reimbursed. Also, on moving day, 5 movers were supposed to show up, only 3 showed up until time of unloading. Overall, not a good experience. If you are looking for just another moving company, this is as good as any. If you are looking for a moving company this does what is right and ethical, keep searching... read more

We are blue-collar workers and hiring a moving company was a special treat for us, as I've always just burdened family and friends with my moves because I couldn't afford professionals. We didn't have a lot of money left after buying a new home but we hired Big T so we could expect quality work and minimal damage. This company initially did an impressive job and we were going to recommend them highly, but it's what happened at the end of our move that is responsible for this rating. My husband had used them before and was really impressed and wanted to use them again to move our 1,400 sqft townhome to a new house less than 10 minutes away. First, they charged $150 service charge for us being on the southside when they are on the northside. Ok, I understand fuel cost/travel time is a factor, so I accepted. The movers showed up and we were super impressed with their work appetite. We had originally only wanted specific things taken (furniture, heavy boxes, etc.) and we could just move the other stuff ourselves later to save time (= money) but they took everything in their path. That was ok with us too and was amusing at first, as they packed a 2-liter of Dr. Pepper that had been sitting in the floor. There were no problems until after we'd made it to the new house and they began to slow down. We eventually had to cut them off due to reaching our budget limit (@ $100/hour). We tipped the 3 guys $40 each (which, according to websites and blogs, was VERY generous and more than double the average tip). Afterward, I discovered several nicks and chunks taken out of what had been perfect furniture--and I understand that is going to happen in a move--but the fault I cannot forgive is when moving a couch into our sitting area (ironically, the last piece of furniture), they took out huge chunks of our door frame and just left it for us to find. We have a brand new construction house...AS IF WE'RE NOT GOING TO NOTICE THAT??? And they had to know they did it--anything leaving an impact like that would have made a loud bang and then naturally, you'd check it and see that it left marks. Look at the photos--you know they knew they did that. If the movers had come to us and pointed it out and apologized, I would have still been p.o.'d but appreciated their honesty and written it off as s*#t happens. But for me to discover that you just left that hoping I wouldn't notice it? Inexcusable. And after we'd tipped them so well! What was worse was when my husband called the company they never apologized and coldly mailed a check for $50 without even a note or a letter inside. Just a loose check in an envelope, like child support from an angry ex. It felt very defensive and hand-washy (like, we paid for it, now leave us alone). We didn't even want a check--we just wanted an apology and someone to be responsible and acknowledge it. Maybe send someone out to patch it. Say you'll talk to the movers about being more careful. Instead, after no apology, we're stuck having to repair your damage to our new house, which is exactly what we scrimped to pay professionals to avoid. This company still would have gotten a better review if two things had happened: 1. to the movers: you know you took chunks out of the door frame. Point it out honestly and apologize. 2. to the customer service reps: act like you care, apologize, and offer to fix the damage. Simple. read more

I cannot recommend against using Big T Moving strongly enough. Big T was scheduled to be at our house last Saturday between 6:30 am and 7:00 am. They even called and emailed the night before to confirm. At 6:04 am I get a call saying they were short staffed and couldn't do the move until Monday! Keep in mind also (and they knew this information because I told them during the initial call) that my wife had recently had ankle surgery and could not put any weight on it or drive. So we were desperate. I was (understandably) upset and got heated with the guy with Big T (I don't remember his name). He had the audacity to get mad at me, saying "hey, it's life, things happen!" No, that's not life for a reputable company. What you should have done is called another moving company and made my move happen. Which is what I had to do. I called Palmer's Moving & Delivery Company. They had a crew of 5 at my house by 10:30 am and those guys got out of bed to help us on their day off. So for future moves, DO NOT use Big T. Go to Palmer's. They'll take care of you and you won't risk being ignored. I will give credit where credit is due. The owner of Big T called on Monday and apologized. read more
