We had high hopes for big time. Everyone we have talked to has been nice. However, they have a big start up fee, we paid 2,000 in exclusionary work, a monthly fee, and a cancellation fee. We started up in March for a rat/mice problem. Since then we have also had ants even after their service for 3 months. They come out every time you call with issues but nothing different gets done to solve issues. After expressing this and wanting to cancel, we were informed of a cancellation fee. From the very beginning, the termite bait traps were put in at the wrong intervals, according to a subsequent visit. Then, on the third visit, he found some of the traps, but couldn't find the rest of them, and they are still not in the right spots and we can't find most of them. The third visit person told us he would come out with somebody else who would be more helpful. That never happened and, no one has contacted us and we've contacted them several times. Big time is good for routine spraying, but their expertise in actual pest control is very poor. I got a rat infestation under their watch, and their solutions did not help anything. I contacted management multiple times and they did not do anything further to solve the problem. In short, their technicians did not know their stuff. I hired another company and the problem was solved within 2 weeks. In addition, the technicians advise from big time pest would have caused my house further damage if I would have listened to them. I love this company! I had a spider problem and they came out to take care of it right away. I'm extremely impressed by them. Then my neighbors had a roach problem and since we share a wall some of them migrated here. They're all gone now after Big Time sent their best expert out. Got an inspection report on a house we have for sale. My son who is a licensed contractor and I went over the supposed damage and found that most items were non existent. Seems as though a conflict of interest exists when the same company that does the inspection also does the repairs ie roofing and carpentry. Always get a second opinion. read more

In order to fulfill the requirements for a VA Home Loan Refinance, a Termite inspection was necessary. Sean, the person Big Time sent out was personable at the site but lied through his teeth both then and on the 9 - page overly complicated report which cited such things as Mold or Fungus growth, Dry Rot and possible signs of "Mud Tunnels" none of which are visible after the man himself left. If you're asked to confirm or deny past or present termite infestation do your job. Say yes or no and don't upsell someone on preventive maintenance when big, important deals are hinging on the answer. If there are NO signs of Wood eating insects that is what the report should say. The following has been edited from the full version that has been posted on other media because there is a character limit on Yelp... Typically, I don't go under my house unless there is a problem. In this case the problem was a floor squeak that I just couldn't get to stop from above. Upon entering the crawlspace, the first thing that I noticed was that a waste line was laying on the ground that hadn't been that way before. After looking more closely, the strap that held the waste line to grade had been removed when the girder was changed and had not been reinstalled. that a strap. More strangely was that a post was missing from a pier block, which supports the girder and thus the floor system. The other work that included removing some debris under the house was not done either. There was more debris, as the workers left all of their cuttings and blocks of wood behind, instead of cleaning up. There were other plumbing line straps that had not been reinstalled as well as the wrong materials were used and placed on concrete. Upon calling Big Time Pest Control and letting them know about my findings, the salesman apologized profusely and said that he would come by to look for himself. Once the salesman/ inspector confirmed what I had described, he apologized some more and some more, again, and heard me repeat my mantra, all the while promising to get someone out right away and that the Big Time head of the construction department would also be on site. Never happened. Two weeks later, I called the office to see when someone was scheduled to come out to do the work that was paid for. After several minutes on hold, I was told that someone would call me within the hour to discuss scheduling. Two days later I called again, because nobody had called me. Two, plus weeks later, a worker was scheduled to be on site to complete the work, which I stayed home to meet him to go over the process and ask some questions. When he was 2 hours over due for the arrival time, I called the office to check to see if something happened. I was told that he was at the home and the crawlspace was too wet to perform the work and that he left. If you're familiar with the Garden Tract, the chances of someone entering you rear yard, going to the crawl hole and leaving without you noticing, are small. When you are actually in your backyard waiting for them, probably even smaller. The reason for not calling me to let me know that the appointment was cancelled: "I don't know". Fast forward another two, plus weeks another worker shows up, by himself and some materials. After speaking with him for several minutes, I was left with the impression that this situation occurs a lot at Big Time. He worked on correcting the work that had been done and completing the contracted work for three full days. Every business can make a mistake. How they respond to rectify the error could be their only saving grace. Big Time Pest Control offered an apology for the "warranty work" taking so long. It isn't warranty work when the original work was never done. Is the work complete? If you come by to visit and I don't answer the door, I'm probably under the house checking because the supervisor from Big Time hasn't been here to do for 3 weeks, or more... I did get an apology, so that's something. read more

Unethical, dishonest and extremely over priced. They gave me a $20,000 estimate on my home and said it would need to be tented. When I called to ask about the findings, they wouldn't return my call for weeks. Needless to say I did not go with this company and ended up paying $15,000 less than they had quoted me and the job was completed in a much more timely manner which is crucial when you're selling your home. *** this review is for the Red Bluff area*** I'd love to give a glowing review, but sadly I was disappointed with their work when doing the repairs they found in our pest inspection when we bought our home. The two stars are for legitimately getting rid of the fleas under the house. I'll assume they did the termite treatment as well. However, the dry rot repair was seriously lacking. Some areas they repaired and painted but didn't even coming close to matching the paint color. Other areas they just cut out the dry rot and didn't repair/replace the wood. Additionally, there was a large amount of scrap wood under the house (where the signs of termite activity was). They were to remove the wood and dispose of it. They moved the wood to the basement and left it, saying it was too much to haul off and the guy doing it was upset because fleas kept getting They may be great for routine pest control stuff as other reviews indicate, but don't waste your time using them for pest report/dry rot repairs. I recently purchased a new home and there was a small water spot on the ceiling that needed to be fixed. My realtor referred big time pest control to do the work. Big time came out completed the job and it was obvious to anyone that the job was completely inadequate. After closing escrow I moved in and contacted them immediately the supervisor Alan came out and looked at the work and agreed that the job was poorly done and set up an appointment for another employee to come out and redo the job. After working all day I came home to find that the spot they so called "repaired" was even worse than the last time. I don't even feel like I want to give them a third shot at this again. I will be better off taking the weekend to complete the job to normal standards myself. In conclusion when getting inspections big time pest control may be the one if you have a big issue but absolutely not the one for super simple home repairs. Not only are they very reliable a list showing up every two months for Roy time spraying, they take care of other things that may spring up like a mouse or ants or Black Widow. They've even gone into my attic. They have a variety of methods to suit your preference. Such as. Sticky boxes to trap a mouse or the traditional spring loaded trap. They've got rat traps and small mouse traps. They are courteous and respect my request to have a phone call reminder before coming out so I can shut my curtains for privacy, unlock gates and keep animals inside safe keeping them from smelling sprayed items or barking at employee. I am very impressed with their services and would highly recommend them. I had a problem with rats that had lived in the attic and they took out all the old insulation around 1947 and got rid of it all and then they disinfected the attic. After, they came by and put in blow in insulation in the attic. Then, I also had them do termite work around the base of the house and under the house. I was told They offered 2 options a months service or you can sign a yearly contract. This company is honest and ethical. They responded to my desperate email over the weekend and on the following Monday, arranged for a technician to come out to look at what kind of insects have infested my car. Recently due to parking my white car at a certain place that had a lot of bugs, my white car was covered by thousands and thousands of these bugs. After 3 car washes and endless lint rolling and vacuuming them for 4 weeks they are still in my car (not interior) in great numbers. I have been so freaked out and stressed over this to the point of losing sleep. Talked to another pest control company and was told that the only way to get rid of these springtails was to spend several hundred dollars for chemical treatment. However, Big Time Pest company and another company Professional Exterminators of Redding are both honest and ethical and they gave me the same evaluation. No need to treat these bugs. The technician Kelly told me that these bugs that seemed to have infested my car were gnats/ a type of springtails and they have swarmed Redding this spring because of the rain we've been getting. He assured me that they will go away on their own when summer gets hots and not to worry about them and even if I spend money treating them, they will come right back due to the color of my car. I so appreciate he was ethical and honest and did not recommend any unnecessary treatment.
