Went here for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. I was able to walk in and get in the chair within about 10 minutes. Got my hair done by Rudy. Gave me an excellent fade and beard trim. Never rushed and made sure everything was legit. Will definitely be going back to him. Even though the surrounding neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired, the shop was extremely clean and well maintained. There were two other barbers in there at the same time and from what I could tell they also do excellent work. If you're trying to go during prime time i would definitely think you would need an appointment. They do high quality work and I'm assuming get extremely busy once it gets closer to the weekend. read more

Raquel cut my hair like a child practicing to become a barber. She was told to keep top long and sides not too short. Fade it in clean. First thing she did was cut off a year worth of growth then said she only cut 1/3rd. She cut 7 of 8 inches...the sides and back looked chopped to hell and uneven. This cut was the day of my wedding. Raquel, you are garbage. I do not recommend anyone come to this unprofessional shop. Oh and she was 20 mins late. read more

This is a warning to anybody considering going to Big TZ Barbershop. DO NOT get cut by the female barber. I believe her name is Raquel. She completely ruined my hairline. I got my hair cut by her almost a year ago, and my hair line still has not recovered. It has gotten to the point where I am considering shaving my head. Apart from this she does not follow directions. I specifically told her not to mess with my hairline, only to touch up a couple hairs poking out at the top. The first thing she does to my hairline on the sides is move it back. She is completely incompetent. Apart from this she goofs off the whole time, singing, changing the song, and joking around with the other barbers. At least the other barbers are actually talented. Focus more and follow directions next time. I got cut by a different barber here and they did a much better job. read more

I scheduled an appointment with the girl who works there, forgot her name, but she does a great job cutting hair. I arrive early as I like to not keep people waiting. But it seems like this women is the opposite, she seems to be very forgetful, disrespectful and overall unprofessional when it comes to keeping those appointments. As other have also experienced this kind of scenarios from other barbers in the shop. She has overlapped appointments, has flat out asked me to leave and set up another appointment at a later time and still had me wait! It is really unfortunate that this is how they decide to run a business when barber shops are a dime a dozen. read more

I had an 11 am appointment to get a cut I showed up 15 min earlier and dude wasn't there g something but I was early so I wasn't stressing by the time it turned 11:30 I figured dude didn't respect me or my time and today was my children's birthday bash so I left without saying anything and figured it is what it is. This was my second time going the first time I went it was good on time and a fresh cut but for me time is everything so I always show up early because I know barbers usually plan their cuts one after another for this dude to not even call in and say he was running late was already enough disrespect. The first time I got my cut I gave homeboy $40 so I'm not cheap either so for sure dude missed out and for sure I will never get an appointment with him again. This place is a joke! Made an appt 2 days before for a 3pm haircut for my son. Arrived at 2:30 and was seated and told they'll be right with me. About 15 minutes later the barber I was scheduled with seats another person and starts cutting. So I approach and ask him when my turn is and he tells me he's running behind(meaning he took a bunch of his buddies) and I should come back at 5pm. So I arrive just before 5 and take a seat. He's finishing up with the person in his chair bso I figured we're next but he goes and gets ANOTHER PERSON and starts cutting! So again I approach and ask if it was indeed 5pm when he told me to return which he replies yes but he has to take care of this person 1st and then he'll get to me! Obviously they have no customer service skills and it's pointless to make an appt! I'll definitely be going to JayDees from now on cause this never ever happened with them! read more

I have been coming to this barber shop ever since it opened and everyone here is very friendly! If you are in the 925 area definitely check it out. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I've been getting cut by Carlos for over 4 years now and he is by far one of the most talented barbers in the east bay! Everyone else that works there has a lot of talent as well. If my barber is out of town they have hooked me up with a haircut without a problem! I have built long lifetime relationships with all the barbers in this shop and I can't see myself going somewhere else to get cut in the future. I needed a Sunday haircut and Big T'z was open. I called, they answered and quickly invited me down for a cut. With light business and 2 barbers, there was a short 20 minute wait. I used the time to run up to the bank - they are cash only (no prob). I was impressed with the nice atmosphere - clean, well-lit, with comfortable seating. I'm in my late 50's, so I really appreciated the professional attitude of both of the young barbers on duty as well. They were very respectful and clean-cut.
