    Big YUM!
    Stephanie M.

So I've been craving home cooking without having to cook it or go home to Louisiana to get it. About August I came across Big Umm at the Hollywood Farmers market and baby it was ON! Now the market will be open Thursday and Friday too and I swear I might start doing that switch the food from the container to the pot thing I saw on television! Try Everything! Literally walk in and PICK you'll LOVE it ALL!

Yesterday, I was craving some good ole New Orleans Cajun food. So I yelped it and came Across this place. It's located at the farm market. It's not a full restaurant but they do have two tables located behind their place. The owners, Ellis and Charlotte (sorry if your name is spelled incorrect) are from New Orleans and are both incredibly nice. We ordered the gumbo, crawfish/shrimp étouffée, and crawfish bread. Oh man, all were good. I added some spice to the étouffée to bring it up a notch since they make it mild. Once I did that, it was the étouffée i once remembered. The gumbo had the perfect combination of meat, rice, and flavor. The crawfish bread was bigger than it looked on the menu. It was like a crawfish sandwich served on this soft French bread. Very yummy.

It's hard to pick a spot to eat at yellow green because there are so many options, so I was really looking forward to finally trying this place. Wanted shrimp and grits but they were out so for the gumbo and Mac and cheese. Gumbo was ok, Mac and cheese wasn't, but the atmosphere with table in the back gives them some extra points. I still want to try the shrimp and grits though

Outstanding service and food! It's so hard to come by authentic food nowadays. Came here to try their Cajun shrimp/crawfish sandwich due to other reviews on yelp and I was not disappointed at all! The sandwich itself is huge and filled with lots of meat, thank god! Definitely a sharable entree. The owner herself is so sweet and accommodating. Our family can't wait to come back here to eat again!

The food here is always amazing. This is our first stop every time we visit the Farmers Market. The shrimp and grits are a must s well as the crawfish bread. The crawfish etouffe got us hooked the first time we tried it, we usually bring that home to go for a future dinner. If you stop by the Yellow Green Farmers Market you have got to stop by Big Umm's booth.

This little spot is amazing. Southern hospitality and New Orleans cuisine in a laid back atmosphere. They are only open on Saturdays & Sundays as they are located in the Yellow & Green Market. I strongly recommend the jambalaya and the gumbo. You can even get the jambalaya served over mac n cheese which is a nice changeup. The owner provides great service. They accept credit cards too. Sit in their little garden in the back for an authentic experience. See my pictures on yelp!

I came here after a beach day with my family as we were craving something sweet and refreshing. Since it was on the way home, it was an easy decision to stop by here. Parking is super easy as this is located in a parking lot with plenty of spaces. We got two of the bingsus-- strawberry mango and the earl grey boba tea snow. Both were so good and catered to different palates. I really loved the earl grey one because it came with lychee jelly which was an expected but pleasant surprise. The mango strawberry is a classic and it did not disappoint. The inside was clean and the staff was super nice. They also had cakes here and some specialty Asian desserts. Keep an eye out for the charming blue-and-white stand topped with American flags, set back from the road, it's easy to miss, but worth seeking out. The Siciliano family has been serving the Miami community for decades. In October 1961, Louis Siciliano opened a sub shop at 711 NW 119th Street in Miami. Although the original location has since closed, the family legacy continues with Siciliano's Frozen Custard and the neighboring Sub Center and Siciliano's Subs, all operated by members of the Siciliano family. Don Drybread, Louis Siciliano's great-grandson, originally opened the custard stand as Uncle Tony's Frozen Custard before renaming it Siciliano's in honor of his mother's side of the family. Siciliano's specializes in frozen custard, which differs from traditional ice cream by containing egg yolks and being churned with less air. The result is a denser, richer, silkier dessert with a smooth texture. It's also served at a slightly warmer temperature than ice cream, allowing you to savor its rich flavor. The custard is made fresh throughout the day, ensuring the perfect consistency every time. Custard is offered in the classic flavors of vanilla, chocolate, and a twist of both, available in cups or cones with your choice of nuts, candy, fruit, or sauce toppings. The menu also features sundaes, sorbet, milkshakes, and their signature thick Hurricanes. For something a little different, Carolyn's Creations transforms the custard into treats like cannolis, dessert tacos, and ice cream sandwiches. I ordered a medium vanilla custard topped with butterscotch and it was so satisfying. The rich, creamy custard made the perfect treat on a hot summer day. There isn't any indoor seating, but there are picnic tables next to the Sub Center, which is great spot to savor your sub or custard.

The baked treats are all dairy free, egg free and vegan. We purchased the banana mini cake which was moist and delish. The big deal is every Tuesday with $2.00 mini cakes. We came on a very busy time since there were over twenty customers on a food walk tour trying to get their baked treats at once and it seemed the person behind the counter was overwhelmed, and I was too. The shop had really nostalgic items from the 70s and 80s scattered around the room including old albums and toys with a nice giant blue velvetish shoe seat. The parking was easy on the street for $1.50 an hour so not bad at all. They do offer a big parking garage too.
