As a former baker and being in the industry, it was disappointing to see smoked salmon out of refrigerator, cooked salmon at room temperature and eggs that had hair on the pastry (not food safe.) I walked in during a little rush, none of the employees seemed excited lol. I get it. It's busy but the guests barely had food on the table. Tried this place after running 7 miles with my run club and it did not disappoint. Everything felt like it was made the same day very fresh very good would definitely recommend the coffee tasted good and so did the pastries. I would definitely recommend trying for the first time. I ordered a slice of cheesecake, Napoleon, and a chocolate croissant. Cheesecake and Napoleon were tasty and fresh. Slices were very small for the price, but it's ok. I was not sure about their portions. Chocolate croissant though was seriously stale. I have never eaten a croissant so stale in my life. Honestly, I wish they would just apologize and not include it. I would be embarrassed to offer something this old. I didn't even eat it. Cakes were delicious. Headed to the Shakira concert and need a boost of energy. I saw this coffee shop walking the circle. It's a bummer you have to pay for parking. It's a cute little coffee shop. There's covered outdoor seating. They have a random of coffees and pastries to offer. I tried the affogato (espresso and ice cream). It wasn't what I expected but gave me the boost I was looking for. I've seen Farmer's Milk pop up on my feed a bit so I was excited to come by and finally get to try them when I was in the area. The space itself is beautiful and they have a wide selection of pastries, drinks, desserts, and more. I can see why they live up to the name "Farmer's Milk" because they truly offer a lot of things with dairy, whether you order a fresh drink or one from their cooler. I opted to get a canned matcha latte because I was curious. The drink itself was okay but you can't expect much from a cooler drink that isn't sweetened. The matcha latte with regular milk had the matcha separate to the bottom making it look more milky than the one with almond milk so just a heads up! The desserts and pastries had such a wide selection but is a hit overwhelming. I was seeking some help from the girl behind the counter to explain certain things but she wasn't super helpful and also didn't look too thrilled to be there. There was no one behind us when ordering so I was hoping to hear a bit more about what they had but she didn't explain too much so we ended up just sticking with the matcha latte. If you don't want to order at the register, you can also order from the kiosk but it is an extensive menu so be prepared to scroll. I was so incredibly shocked at how good this bakery was, I love meringue, so their meringue dessert was one of my favorite things I've had in a long time. I was kind of scared that a Ukrainian bakery would have stuff I didn't like but it was freaking great! Their sandwiches look incredibly delicious, and all the desserts we tried were great. Real milk, clean ingredients and delicious flavors. I loved thier chia yogurt so much I bought some to bring home for my family. Something I can feel great about giving to my son. Their matcha iced tea is a new favorite in the area for me. You can taste the difference in their milk forreal. I love the concept and the overall aesthetic, and I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but there are a few reasons I can't. It's a mix of excellent and just okay. The food was mostly great, but with a few exceptions. The salmon eggs Benedict was outstanding--honestly, the best I've ever had! However, it came with a bland green salad. A touch of citrus or some extra flavor could have really elevated the dish. I visited mainly for the desserts, which looked as good in person as they did in the photos. Unfortunately, they didn't live up to the same standard in taste. The napoleon was too moist, and the honey cake was dry and overly sweet. On the bright side, the cheese syrniki (a type of cheese pancake) was incredibly authentic, flavorful, and perfectly made. It definitely deserves high praise. The matcha latte, however, tasted like watered-down sand--green sand, at that. The ambiance was pleasant, but the furniture felt flimsy, as if it were bought for show, not durability, especially in a commercial setting. Service was virtually non-existent, and the place seemed poorly managed. There were around 10 people behind the counter, yet it was impossible to get anyone's attention for something as simple as a spoon. Despite this, they charge tip levels as if it were a 5-star restaurant, and the prices were quite steep--especially for coffee that wasn't worth it. I really hope this place improves. Either they need to enhance the service and experience to match the high prices, or adjust the pricing to better reflect what you get. I'll return for the eggs Benedict and syrniki, but I'm uncertain about the rest. read more
