The place was fairly busy this weekend. For me it was uncomfortably tight inside between the touristy offerings and shoppers. Service was adequate, yet not quite friendly. We stopped in just to check out their fudge, but ended up walking out with a Christmas ornament and a scoop of ice cream as well. They definitely don't skimp on the ice cream...large single scoop. This shop has it all! You walk in and to your right is the counter with ice cream, treats and home made fudge crafted right there on site. The fudge is spectacular and fresh made and the ice cream is Umpqua seasonal, smooth and creamy. They have managed to keep the fudge prices under control which only causes us to lose ours.... We picked up a couple good size bricks to bring home. There is a large selection of shirts, sweaters and hoodies. Towards the back of the store is a gallery featuring various wood carvings, sand windows, metal sculpture wall hangings and paintings. For those DIY types, you can also purchase slabs of burl to make your own end tables, stands, whatever strikes your creative streak. read more

This was a neat store- kind of an example of the ultimate Oregon Coast tourist shop. Housed in a rustic style wooden building, they have everything from coastal themed knick knacks and decor to the requisite tshirts, postcards, and other souvenirs. They also sell fudge and ice cream. My only complaint is that the older lady at the fudge counter was just all around rude. She greeted me with a curt "what do you want", seemed annoyed when I asked a simple question, and couldn't break a smile during our entire interaction. I work retail myself and understand that people have bad days, so whatever. I would've given a five star rating had it not been for this Debbie Downer. On the upside, the fudge was tasty. I got the peanut butter chocolate and Heath toffee flavors and would highly recommend both. I will return on another trip and update my review if I have a better experience at the fudge counter here. read more

I used to love this store and would bring my young children several times every summer. While the customer service has never been overly welcoming, I also never found them invasive. I went a few days ago with my mother and kids and was extremely disappointed in my experience and will not return. I even had my children put back several items we intended to purchase. The woman who "greeted" us continued to follow us around and even condescendingly told me to keep my kids away from a separate room- my kids were nowhere near that room and towards the front of the store with my mother. Their loss. I've always spent lots of money there, and would have that day. Unfortunately some in Bandon take a disdainful attitude towards those who actually keep their economy thriving. read more

This store become one of our favorites while visiting Bandon. I read some of the reviews from other fellow yelpers and I didn't have any issues with the staff like some. They offered assistance but that's about it. I got the vibe that the people in Bandon.. were kind and going at their own pace. I love all the "big foot" items in the store. Cracks me up and of course had to purchase a few items for myself and for Aunt. Cool keychains for purchase.. easy to pack in your suitcase. I did sample the fudge - peanut butter and chocolate.. pretty fresh and delicious. I purchased a "hoodie" with big foot on the front. I like the clothing selection.. something for everyone! Thank you, Big Wheel, for not charging $3 a scoop for ice cream. Seriously, thank you. $3 seems to be the going rate for ice cream or a latte these days, so I appreciated that although this is a tourist shop right along the Port of Bandon, they weren't price gouging. Most of the store is dedicated to t-shirts and other tourist gear, but there is a fudge counter and about 20 varieties of Umpqua Ice Cream. Funny how Oregon has an ice cream dividing line almost like a dairy civil war (Tillamook to the North and Umpqua to the South). The staff was very friendly and efficient. Eager to offer samples and suggest you try new flavors. I recommend grabbing a cone and heading out to the pier to enjoy the view. read more

Lots of souvenirs, hats & clothes with Bandon & Oregon on them. I really enjoyed going through the room with beautiful displays of Myrtlwood & glass. They even had an area of rough cut wood you could buy to make your own pieces. But the homemade fudge looked so good, we had to get some. We tasted a few flavors & pick our favorites. Very cute little gift shop with ice cream and fudge -- as well as the touristy stuff. I actually went in because I'd been driving along the coast for a couple of hours and seen 4 different signs/buildings advertising "myrtlewood" -- which I'd never heard of. So when we were eating at Tony's Crab Shadk, across the street, I saw they had a sign advertising myrlewood -- Their ice cream became husband's dessert -- and I found out what myrtlewood is. It's little wood carvings. Desk doo-dads. Wood jewelry. Lots of crosses. Not what I was expecting. With so many places selling and making it, I was thinking Adirondak chairs, or cradles, or garden gnomes or something. Ah well. The fudge was yummy, and husband finished his chocolate mint chip ice cream with a smile. This was my first visit to Bandon and was impressed with the store selection. However, there was male employee that stalked me throughout the whole store. Having worked in loss prevention, being prior law enforcement and being a security guard I definitely understand the need to make sure no one steals anything. Now when there are 10 other people in the store he should have been checking them too. I was getting very annoyed on how obvious he was being. I did get a laugh though when I made him follow me in circles 4 times around the same rack of clothes! I guess I should have asked him of he wanted to hold all my items for me while I shopped. I do NOT like tourist shops, but if you are going to go to one on a trip down the Oregon Coast, go to this one, it's got the nicest and most helpful staff as well as good prices on all the touristy tshirts, mugs, sweatshirts and other stuff you could ever want. They also have super fudge and great priced ice cream, plus a gallery of nicer stuff in a separate area in the east end of the store. Very friendly person helped us to our treats. Super prices on Umpqua ice cream compared to other places we've tried -- 2 scoops for only $2.75. Their fudge was also reasonably priced in that you could buy just 1/4 pound (plenty for at least 4 servings) for $3.75. I'm not a fudge connoisseur, but it sure tasted good to me. read more

Was not an enjoyable shopping experience, went into get sweatshirts and candy for family and friends. Instead we were stalked through out the store,by employees. Continuously asked the same question over and over. I spent over 20 years working retail I understand the need for security. But harassment is uncalled for, I finely just grabbed a t-shirt for my grandson. Even the cashier was rude when asking for my I.D. for my credit card. Went around the corner to a little gift shop and spent an hour visiting with the employees about the little town. Tourism pays your bills,might take that into consideration. Not only do they make their fudge and sell ice cream but the selection of gifts or sweatshirts if fantastic!! And now along with their regular favors of fudge they added 4 new ones; my favorite over rocky road is now Cappincino, Butterfinger, Rootbeer - remember those hard candy barrel shape? yep, and Cherry Cordial!! I like the store, but the Owner, Don is a very rude man. He talks down to his employees, and is always more concerned with his profits than people. As a former employee, i know first hand that, Don is over bearing, i had customers complain to me about him. Do yourself a huge favor....Dont shop there. Came in with my service dog and was shopping with family when 2 of the female employees came up to me and were rude, and told me i had to leave because no animals were allowed in the store including service animals. I politely let them know that they couldnt not turn anyone away who has a service animal, because they could get sued for it. Also the sign saying no animals were allowed was from 2011 and in 2014 the laws changed. Wouldn't recommend coming to this store they are rude and don't know the laws. They don't even deserve the 1 star im giving them. read more

I couldn't move 3ft in any direction without the employees starting at me. (Like their was an employee everywhere in that already crowed store) I was having a conversation with someone and the employee was staring at me nonstop. Great Store but boy do they make you feel like a criminal and they have 0 customer service and common sense. Lots of nice doo dads and clothing that is reasonably priced. However they had a special on some nice jackets. $32.95 ea or 2 for $55. But if you want 3 jackets you pay full price for the 3rd. How stupid is that? Should be the 27.50 for the 3rd also. I think the worst thing tho is trying to check out. Apparently the fudge and ice cream are quite good so the lines can get quite long. 2 cashiers taking the ice cream and fudge orders alongside ringing up the general merchandise orders. Waited 20 minutes. Terrible service. At least have a register SOMEWHERE ( maybe by the guy that guards the front door) for merchandise ring ups only. I love the store because it has excellent souvenir items. I have had very bad experiences with the older ladies who work/manage the store. Last weekend I went in to get my favorite fudge flavor. I have spent a lot of money in there but they dont know that. Anyways on the napkin holder it says there is a PREFERRED $10 minimum for use of card. I wanted $5 worth of fudge. The lady declined the sale. I will never spend money here again. Cranberry Sweets do not have a card minimum, they appreciate your business, and they are just around the corner. read more

My family and I stopped here while driving through town and we came in to buy my son an ice cream cone. We went to pay for it ($2) and the clerk stated that they didn't take cards for purchases less than $10 and pointed at a sign (which I admit was clearly visible, but had escaped our notice) that said "CREDIT CARDS... $10 PREFERRED MINIMUM". Our son had already begun to eat. The clerk told us that there was an ATM machine. When we investigated we found that the fee for its use was $3. I then went back to the clerk and asked her what she thought the word "preferred" meant, because to me it clearly indicated that they would prefer you to keep your credit card purchases above $10, but that that was not mandatory. At this point another clerk stepped in and said that that was the policy. My wife offered to pay a 50 cent or even a dollar surcharge voluntarily, to which the clerk responded that the owner would not allow that and that he would end up paying more to use the credit card than the price of the ice cream itself (I doubt that her surcharge price quote was accurate). She then offered to just buy it for us (which is one of the reasons I'm not giving the place only one star), but my wife didn't feel comfortable doing that (I felt fine about it) so instead we bought another item to bring it up to $10. We walked out feeling as if we had suffered a tourist trap. They should change the sign to say "Minimum Credit Card Charge $10". Or just charge a reasonable surcharge. read more
