I've been to Bigby Coffees around Ohio and Indiana with nothing but positive experiences. Good, solid latte at every location, until now. I was surprised by the taste of my medium latte, hot and plain, my go to drink. If you like steamed milk with a whisper of a coffee note, then this is your place! Definitely not for me. Ps. As a Chicagoan raised on Starbucks (basic I know), Biggby was freaking delicious! I had a pumpkin muffin that was literally 100000/10. I absolutely love this coffee and went every single morning (to the Mitchell st) and sometimes in the afternoon.. until today. Dark haired older woman asked me to speak up at the ordering speaker so I did then when I got to the window she said she wasn't used to being yelled at through the speaker and accused me of yelling at her! They haven't had sweet foam for over 3 weeks. The only things I get there that I like are vanilla cold brew and Java cream cold brew with sweet foam. I don't understand how they can be out of it for so long. They were out early May for a week then for some in for a couple days until this drought. I told myself I'd never go back to this location after the 2 other failed attempts! But I'd thought ok it's been a few years and staff changes....well NOPE still sucks! Horrible service like always (they don't listen to you, even when you repeat yourself) tell them you want whip cream and they say you didn't, they say one flavor and then when you say thats not what you ordered they then say oh yes thats what it is, then get mad when you ask them to put the drizzle on top that they forgot. Besides all that the place was dirty, garbage over flowing onto the ground several dirty blenders, staff throwing empty cans (missing trash because already full so falls loudly to tiled floor) dirty tables and littered pay counter (also lots off dollar bills scattered because they are splitting the tip jars ALREADY) AVOID this location, it only serves disappointment. read more

Recently stopped by for some hot chocolate and a bagel sandwich. My hot chocolate was pretty good, but my sandwich not so much. Got the cheese, egg, and sausage sandwich, but there was cream cheese on it which I can't eat. Pretty surprised when I took a bite out and immediately got sick. Good coffee. Pretty typical Bigby experience. Tried the Salted Caramel flavor on a whim. Found myself liking it a lot. Came back each of the three days I was in town. Ask for two bags in the cup if you order tea. My son is a tea-drinker and ordered a 16-ounce tea. The server provided only one bag. He said the taste of the tea was good -- Harney & Sons is the brand -- but there needed to be two bags to provide enough strength for a 16-ounce cup. Super-cheerful server at the cash register. Made an impression on me. A good one. Annoying door "chime". There's just an awful-sounding buzz over your head when you open the door and walk in. That was off-putting, and the store would be well-served by switching to a chime having a more pleasing sound. Good coffee though. Glad that I went. Cheerful service. read more

Always been a fan of Biggby's coffee and typically good customer service but unfortunately this specific location was a let down. Extremely slow service on two different occasions with rather simple orders during each visit. I give them some benefit of the doubt during the first experience as it was an in-store visit and the customer in front of me was rather indecisive and complicated with her order. I didn't mind the initial wait as that was out of their control but once my order (a basic, self-serve brew) was placed they forgot to give me a cup until I asked after a few minutes. The second visit was via the drive-thru and again was not a complex order (two regular coffees), but once again took way longer than it should have. After placing the order and pulling up to the window we had to wait nearly 5 minutes before someone came to take accept our payment and then another few minutes to actually get the coffees. Neither visit were they busy by any means nor were they understaffed. I've typically been pretty loyal to Biggby, however, I will be looking to alternatives rather than returning to this location. read more
