The ice cream here is truly excellent -- rich flavor and great texture. However, the customer service experience doesn't always match the quality of the product. One of the employees was unexpectedly rude and dismissive, which made the visit less enjoyable than it should have been. I wish I had remembered her name so the owner could provide the proper guidance and training. As a former employee, I encourage you to buy ice cream from any other place in cadillac other than DAIRY QUEEN! I've seen enough in the past few weeks to never ever want to work here again in the nearby future. Let's start with the lack of positive re-enforcement when delegating task to other co workers. when Manager A ask a crew member to help with daily task. She decides to have an attitude and takes sides with a lot of people she's close to when it comes to being held accountable. The general manager B shrugs it off and calls it as typical manager A being "herself" whatever that means. Then she gets upset and snitches when a crew member confesses an issue that has persistently been a subject on everyones mind. Any issues that arise she finds a way to throw you under the bus for expressing a general concern and exclaims that YOU have an attitude! Yet, she's the one whom puts her crew in uncomfortable positions by insulting them behind her back and making it so people would be scared to communicate properly and effectively to better understand the criteria. They are prone to find ways to dig their claws into anyones personal issues and have no respect for boundaries. I explicitly mentioned that if I don't need a ride to work why pester me about it and they exclaimed they get "worried" which is so invasive and is not their concern as I ended up coming to work on time regardless of how worrisome they get. I understand that they want to help but when I say I am fine that shouldve been the end of the conversation! However, it was constantly inserted in every conversation how worried they get when I walk home after I clock out. Since i've started there, not one person has stopped to wash their hands every couple minutes. No protocols are being enforced and they don't even effectively communicate on proper sanitizing protocols. So every ice cream cone thats handed to you they mostly likely never washed their hands before handing it out to you. None of the products are labeled with the proper expiration date. The same container is used and I rarely seen them swap the old container for a new one until I expressed it as a huge ordeal. They retold a story about how they failed their last inspection and the previous general manager quit. All while they try to lecture you about how nothing is getting done. The customer asked manager A if she cleaned her hands before handing out the cone and she lied to the customer and exclaimed "Yes!" Next, they explain how yelling is not a proper way to communicate but when thing get heated and people start to argue; Manager A profusely shouts over everyone as a supposed way to disengage a situation. Once finished, she tells general manager B who is obviously going to be biased as shes developed a close relationship with manager A because of manager A telling every single thing that happens to General manager B about every single crew members personal issues. While getting away without proper accountability and instead claims that you have an attitude problem as a scapegoat. As I haven't mentioned yet there are a lot of times. I was scheduled & they insisted on informing me to stay home as a result of "Labor hours!" Which is just another way for them to say we can't properly schedule hours, but we have tons of people on our schedule. However, lets hire more people as we already can't "afford hours for the people that have been here since the beginning." God forbid they dont have a full crew in the summer its like the world is ending. Yet, when it's slow they're going to sacrifice you to the lambs and deduce your hours! they cant make up for the lack of sales on a slow day because they hired way too many people and threw them on the schedule.
