I feel that being a new parent these days, one of the most challenging things is navigating the massive amount of information and products out there! It can be so overwhelming! What is nice about Biggest Little Baby is that they have so many amazing and trusted products all in one location. I honestly wish I had known about this place while I was pregnant! When you arrive to the shop and walk in, you quickly notice there's a lot more to it than just a store. They have different sections for kids, mom's post-pregnancy, and pregnant mamas! I also thought it was so neat to see they have baby holders that caregivers can wear to rent! This is so nice to be able to test out products or just not have to commit to buying too much expensive baby gear. Another thing I learned about was all the fun classes that people can attend! Our favorite is music class for toddlers with Mr.Steve Classes do not have a cap size sometimes there's a lot of families other times not very many in attendance. We are so lucky to have a resource like Biggest Little Baby in Reno! They offer everything from a store to weekly support groups and is a central location for different providers involved in the pre/post natal field. They have a massage therapist, chiropractor, doulas, child birth educations, etc. This place is also super kid friendly, as you can imagine. Everything is tailored to kids and their parents. I really really wish I knew about Biggest Little Baby when I was pregnant. It is a wonderful resource and community. I'm so grateful I found them when my son was 6 months old; I felt totally alone at the time, I had no support, no family near by - Google was my only resource. I found the Baby Circle group. This place is a must for any pregnant mama. It's a store and resource center that literally fills any needs you have before and after you have your baby. I can't say enough good things about the Nest, it's an amazing resource for families that I'm so happy I found just before my daughter was born! Prenatal yoga was wonderful, the Circle of Babies support group was a real lifeline when she was newborn, and the store is a fantastic resource as well. We recently rented the space for her first birthday, because most of the kiddos aren't walking yet we needed somewhere that was crawler-friendly! This was perfect - reasonable rates, all the tables and chairs we could possibly need, access to the kitchen, and the play area made it a real hit with the kids! What an absolutely amazing place. They were having a sidewalk sale so of course I needed to check it out. Rather you are pregnant, have babies, little ones or grown kids it doesn't matter they have something for everyone. I was very impressed with all the high quality products they offer. In addition to their selection of fine quality essential oils was such a delight to see. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell and have the answers to all your questions. They are associated with so many other businesses in the community and have a long list of resources available. In the business they have a kids play area, a nursing room, massage room, classroom which is such an amazing blessing to moms and dads. My wife and I just visited the store to buy a few items to deplete a store credit that was issued when she returned something earlier this summer (no cash refunds on returns - store credit only). They have a good selection of organic and "green" baby rearing merch to satisfy the inner hippy in all of us. Great place for gift shopping. It also looks like they do lactation consulting and some other prenatal and postpartum services as well - which seem to be lacking on this end of town making their presence good and convenient for people that live on this end of town. This place is so warm and inviting. They offer a wide variety of classes. I've personally attended the new mom circle, baby wearing class, and the breastfeeding circle (all free). Meredith runs the breastfeeding circle and she is a certified lactation consultant (what a pro she is!). I exclusively pump because my daughter was never able to make a full feeding off nursing. The first time I attended the breastfeeding circle I asked if it was ok to be there even though I bottle feed (I'm a first time mom so I still get anxiety doing these things). Meredith looked at me like I was crazy for even asking lol. She said"of course! You are more than welcome here". She is such an awesome and knowledgeable individual. Definitely recommend this circle. I also go to the new mom circle. I used to think these "mommy groups" were overrated and just kind of dumb, but boy did I learn! When you have a little human to take care of you want solid support and solidarity. These first time moms in this circle are some of the coolest and most understanding people I've met. We get to talk about our week and the development of our babies. An expert facilitates the discussion and we each have an opportunity to share and ask questions. As for the store end of the facility, they offer so many environmentally friendly and organic products ( if you're into that). They also have a baby wearer program where you can check out a specific baby carrier for $15. That way you can see if you like it before making the big purchase ( some carriers are pricey!). I have not written a negative review on Yelp before. . I walked through the door of this facility and was greeted with "he's too big for that, that sweatshirt is too thick, if you hit something he will be ejected, you could be rear ended. I was taken back to say the least from a facility called "The Nurturing Nest." When I asked about the amber necklaces I came in for I could barely get any information on them from her. However, she did hand me a brochure on car seat classes and informed me she taught them. I started thinking that having a child in a tshirt in February rather than a sweatshirt for a car seat was unreasonable so as I was leaving I said "Is he really that far from the limits of the seat?" "Well by law he's fine but it doesn't fit the "recommendations." A few minutes later I went back inside the store when my son woke up so that I could exchange for another necklace. I was greeted with, "I need to leave this minute." When I put up one and took the other she laughed and started playing on her phone. I went home and saw she made up a story on the Facebook page of this business about a woman coming in and wanting to know information about moving up from an infant car seat to a convertible. I knew she was referring to me because she quoted something she had said to me earlier. Wow........I'll just let that sink in a minute... I have triple checked my son and the car seat standards TO FIND HE IS WELL WITHIN THE HEIGHT AND WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS. I am always open to helpful advice on mothering but not abrasive, unwanted, advice from strangers that later ends up on Facebook. My biggest concern is that most new moms wouldn't have any reason to question the plethora of misinformation being given. I had high hopes for this facility and was so excited to try out all there classes but not at the expense of being berated moments after walking through the door, filtering through misinformation and then reading about it on Facebook. I messaged through Facebook to try and rectify the situation before posting on Yelp and unfortunately I received an anonymous email from someone claiming "I'll say what I want in my store take it or leave it." Not at all what I would expect from a facility catering to women at a vulnerable stage in life. YELP is about giving an honest summary of your experience and in this case I was given misinformation and treated with poor customer service. She is only human and this time she was wrong. The venomous follow up email was what made this more of a standard and less of just an off day. Good luck to all the mamas. Believe in yourself and support each other! read more

FABULOUS! This is my favorite store EVER. They have a variety of quality merchandise, a plethora of educational classes on all things baby (many of which are free), and friendly, expert staff. Once I was the only one who showed up for a free babywearing class; Rachel spent an entire hour showing me the pros and cons of every carrier and how to use each one. I've attended several classes and groups here, and always come away feeling educated, supported, and "nurtured." At first glance, this boutique styled store might make a penny-pincher like myself vow to leave the wallet in the purse...it's easy to see the quality, and assume the prices probably match. BUT...and I'll admit I've compared...IF you can find identical products elsewhere, they won't be cheaper. It's delightfully refreshing! This store is an amazing resource. :) read more

The Nurturing Nest is one of the store fronts in a neighboring state that carry Tula carriers. I had been searching for a sold out print (Plum Posey) and called them to see if they had it in stock. I spoke to Laurie who informed me that they would be receiving a shipment and would call me to let me know what they received. She not only called me back and gave me the description of all the carriers she had (sadly, not the print I was looking for) but she also had a discontinued print (Dynasty) that just happened to be my alternative. I was so excited! She took my order over the phone, sent me my receipt and shipping details through email and in two days, my beautiful Tula arrived!! Laurie was very sweet and easy to work with. A local gem! It's been our go to place for over a year. We attended their Holiday Fair last weekend for our pictures with Santa and purchased some presents from local vendors. Throughout the last year we have enjoyed attending their FREE Breastfeeding circle, new baby circle, and toddler time in the playroom. We appreciate that they host the FREE meetups of the Reno Sparks Cloth diaper group and Reno chapter of Babywearing International. Their reasonably priced yoga with childcare, music classes, art classes, and many child product classes (some which are also FREE) are top notch. Supportive environment and inviting community. I attended pre-natal yoga frequently and plan to attend many of the educational workshops. If your a new mother, soon to be mother, or experienced mother, this is the place to connect with others that "just get it". I came to Nurturing Nest to see Meredith because I was having trouble with my breastmilk supply. I was about to give up, but my mother begged me to get help so I made an appointment. I am soooo glad I chose Meredith and not one of the ladies from the hospital. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about EVERYTHING baby lol (I'm not exaggerating). I got so much out of our visit. She was very thorough and gave me so many useful tips, This is such a great place especially if you're a new mom and don't really know what hell you're doing. I love the Nurturing Nest. I wish they had a second location in Carson so I could go there more often! I started going there for prenatal yoga when I was pregnant, and since then they've been a great resource during my pregnancy and time as a new mom. Their new moms and breastfeeding support groups are great. I highly recommend them to any new moms, even if you don't have any "issues" to discuss, it's great just to be around other women who are dealing with the same stuff that you are. They also have an amazing inventory of cloth diapers and related products, in addition to natural products for babies and mamas including toys, feeding accessories, carriers, you name it.
