These guys sorted me out with a service and MOT. I was pleased with the work and it was a fair price. They have a free retest within 10 days and normally can fit in an MOT on the same day. read more

On the front of the main entrance to Brighton Bikes are posters for AC/DC and The Who, reminding the customer not to forget that motorbikes are cool, and are inextricably linked to rock music. However the AC/DC and Who concerts they are advertising are actually tribute bands; not so cool, but still, in the right direction. To be honest though, this shop isn't about looks, it's quite simply a good, hard working, honest shop which deals in Bikes and getting those babies on the road. KTM and Yamaha road and Moto X bikes are displayed outside, and the Yamaha Virago especially took my fancy, looking a little bit like a chopper, I suddenly had the urge to throw off the constraints of society and go easy riding. But I didn't, as sleeping under the Californian stars in mid summer cannot be matched by the lovely, but actually quite cold, Sussex Downs in mid winter.

The shop seems clean and more like an attempts to follow the styling of the bigger, glossier, check book biker dealers like P and H in Crawley than your average independent. But it clearly doesn't have the budget behind it as there is little in the way of stock and the bikes seem to be a miss match of second hand machines (with a good couple of classics in there). It's not all bad though repair prices are reasonable, with a puncture repair at twelve pounds, and they seem to be a helpful bunch of people happy to talk to me despite the fact that I didn't need to buy anything. This could be a great local shop with a bit time and it's much easier to access than the city centre shops.

When I collected my bike, they fitted a new free-wheel mechanism and a new chain at a very reasonable price. I rode my bike home to Woodingdean, in light rain and the bike is as good as the time when I bought it new and first road it. Outstanding work G-Whizz, I highly recommend you to everyone and you will be my 'go to' bike repairers.

Unfortunately they didn't have a bike suitable for me when I visited (stupidly I decided to try and buy a cheap bike at the start of the university term when they'd already been snapped up in freshers' week),. but having seen the obvious professionalism here I would certainly bring my bike here for repairs.

As a lover and rider of old motorcycles I find it can be difficult to find parts from time to time…read more There are a number of great shops I can go and get a great sense of community and any number of good online dealers where the selection of parts is good, but retuning them can be a pain and the service impersonal. With these things in mind you can imagine how happy I was to find that World's End Motorcycles was as close at hand as it is. I found out about them when one of their guys came to buy an old Honda off me after I had run its little engine into the ground. I popped down to the warehouse in Portslade a week or two later after a part for my new bike. When I asked after my old Honda I was told that they had set it up with a new engine and that it was now once more on the road. That's just what these guys are about. They have one of the largest selections of motorcycle parts under one roof I've ever seen and you get the very real impression that they actually care. There's not a great deal in the way of accessories or clothing so you lose a little of the excitement of a real trip to the bike shop but in terms of the nuts and bolts of things (excluding Brit bikes) they excel. So for those of you with something like a 1990 GS1000, next time a piece of aging fairing gives way or you need a new chain on the cheap then give these guys a shout or just head down.
