Funny story, but when I first searched for this location, the address noted it was located in a "hinterhof." That translates into basically a backyard or courtyard in German. However, the umgangsprache or slang meaning of "hinterhof" is more like a shady place where someone would purchase drugs more secretly, like an alley transaction almost. When I could not find the yoga place, I stopped into the Campus Suite down the street to ask where the "hinterhof" was and they stared blankly at me a few times. Then they asked what exactly was I searching for??!! I told them Bikram Yoga studios and then they laughed and guided me up the street, half a block away, just make a right into the walkway that leads to the door of the studio. Haha....
I like its location and proximity to my home so that already is a plus plus for me. The studio is located upstairs from the locker rooms and you must walk up an iron winding staircase to enter the studio loft. Once upstairs the room feels really open, but for this same reason, it does not get as hot as I am normally used to for a Bikram course. The instructors here are great because they guide you through the positions without bringing too much attention to the group that your postures are being corrected. Back in Chicago, the teacher would always shout my name out and what I was doing wrong so the entire room knew which poses I needed to work on.
Here they serve lemon water, green tea and sometimes these mini gummi bears that I usually eat about a handful of, haha! I earned it though, Bikram yoga is not for the impatient, weak or heat intolerant. This yoga really clears your mind after you leave class! read more
