Inconsistent door knob installation - sometimes the lock is on top, sometimes it's on the bottom - no rhyme or reason why ‍
    Kathy F.

As others have commented, the experience was awful and led to a frustrating exchange with the owner. He was aggressive and spoke in a manner very unbecoming of anyone, much less a representative for a company claiming "superior service" and an enjoyable building process. During the build process, the super told us repeatedly he didn't have time to "babysit" the build. In terms of quality and attention to detail...the house was unlivable on closing day. There was a gas leak in the house, the water heater wasn't connected, and the plumbing/sewer wasn't functioning. The entirety of the interior was painted and repainted 3 times, 1/2 of the kitchen cabinet doors had to be replaced, door handles were installed in different ways - sometimes the lock was on top, sometimes it was on the bottom, outlet covers are a different sheen - some are gloss, some are matte, duct vents aren't aligned, the front yard didn't drain, there were gaps in the back door, the front door mechanism was broken, and the PAC took 6 months to complete. Best of luck to anyone that opts to build with this builder. I'd recommend continuing on with the builder search - there is certainly nothing of any quality or value to see here.

Gee thanks Bill Clark Homes I didn't know my new home came with an in-ground pool! Oh wait, that's my green slimy easement ditch! Yucky!

We are also very happy with the fixtures of the kitchen, 2 full baths, & doors - they're tasteful, well thought out and cohesive. We would buy another house from this builder when it's time to upgrade to a bigger house.

What she has experienced instead has been nearly two years of unresolved defects, empty assurances, and a complete lack of accountability. The home came with a one-year warranty. Following a secondary inspection, a detailed list of legitimate issues was submitted on July 8, 2025 to Matthew Crawford, "Director of Operations." We were explicitly assured that all issues would be addressed. What followed was months of back-and-forth emails, repeated promises, and absolutely no meaningful action. It was not until November 19, 2025, after I posted a public review, that Mr. Crawford suddenly became responsive. Notably, this outreach came only after asking whether the review would be removed. Once again, we were told everything would be fixed. Once again, nothing happened. In addition to the ongoing unresolved issues, about a month agoSource Contracting's team worked in one of the bathrooms. The shelving had sustained water damage due to their subpar installation, so it was removed. Instead of responsibly replacing the damaged materials or removing them from the home, the water-stained shelves--along with the shelf hardware--were placed under the guest bed. This careless and unprofessional handling of damaged materials further underscores the company's disregard for basic standards of workmanship and respect for the homeowner. Fast forward to April 15, 2026: a Source Contracting employee came to remove cabinet doors to have them "repaired" rather than replaced--an apparent attempt to minimize costs on a high-end home. Since that day, there has been zero communication and zero follow-up. The doors remain unfixed. Other significant issues remain unresolved. What makes this situation even more frustrating is the visibility of Source Contracting's priorities. Their crew has been actively working on a neighboring home directly behind my mother's property--a house that has sat empty for nearly three years. Clearly, the manpower exists. It is simply reserved for new builds they can sell, not for standing behind homes they have already profited from. A company that takes pride in its work would correct defects, honor its warranty, and take responsibility without being publicly pressured. Source Contracting has demonstrated none of these qualities. The pattern here is clear: delay, deflect, placate, and disappear. As I stated in my previous review, I would not trust Source Contracting to build a dollhouse--certainly not a seven-figure "luxury" home. Their lack of work ethic, responsibility, and follow-through speaks far louder than any marketing ever could.

They are nice when working with buyers, but beware. They left one of their recent projects in Southport, NC holding a bag needing more than a half a million dollars to correct and complete. The project location is Cades Cove, off of Howe Street and Robert Ruark Dr. Driving thru the community you will notice that the streets are only paved with the initial rough coat. The town will not take over the roads until they are up to code. Look closer. Notice the many patches to the roads. They are there due to failures of the infrastructure below, i.e. storm water system, sewage system, and pond outflow pipes. Numerous sink holes hint of issues yet to be corrected. Look closer yet, and notice the huge craters in the alleyways behind some of the homes, alleys which are supposed to provide access to rear entrance garages. A couple of the sink holes are large enough to hide an SUV. They left the community owing several years of back taxes to the county. They escaped the project and the town by somehow collecting most of their bond despite leaving the project uncompleted. This is a hint of their business ethics. The builder's game is to build and sell houses and then leave, change company names, and continue on with new projects. Buyer beware - do your homework. Do not give these people your business.

If you are building…read moreor planning to build with Harrington Classic Homes, do your research and for those who are, check your home's progress daily or pay someone to watch over it for you. I've bought homes in Wilmington before and by far this is one of the worse builders and office workers I've ever dealt with. Do not buy a home from this builder until you have checked with the Better Business Bureau, NC Builders Association, past clients, Google Reviews, Cypress Village Place owners, and other locations in and around Wilmington NC. This builder and its office workers are a scam. They have no work ethic, professionalism, horrible customer treatment, terrible communication, poor quality work and poor quality materials installed in their new homes. They will charge high prices and install low grade materials on your property. This builder and his employees are a scam, they will try to stop you from checking the house while it is being built to prevent you from seeing the poor quality work and materials being installed in your future new home. They charged my neighbor $18,000 at the last minute at closing and then they blamed it on COVID. What builder do you know who buys materials while building a community of 30 homes? This is the most greedy, reckless, disrespectful, inconsiderate, lier and careless builder that we as a community have ever known... They have also left our community on the brink of bankruptcy due to their lack of respect for humanity.
