My mother purchased her home from Source Contracting in July 2024, expecting professionalism and workmanship consistent with a $1.3 million "luxury" home. What she has experienced instead has been nearly two years of unresolved defects, empty assurances, and a complete lack of accountability. The home came with a one-year warranty. Following a secondary inspection, a detailed list of legitimate issues was submitted on July 8, 2025 to Matthew Crawford, "Director of Operations." We were explicitly assured that all issues would be addressed. What followed was months of back-and-forth emails, repeated promises, and absolutely no meaningful action. It was not until November 19, 2025, after I posted a public review, that Mr. Crawford suddenly became responsive. Notably, this outreach came only after asking whether the review would be removed. Once again, we were told everything would be fixed. Once again, nothing happened. In addition to the ongoing unresolved issues, about a month agoSource Contracting's team worked in one of the bathrooms. The shelving had sustained water damage due to their subpar installation, so it was removed. Instead of responsibly replacing the damaged materials or removing them from the home, the water-stained shelves--along with the shelf hardware--were placed under the guest bed. This careless and unprofessional handling of damaged materials further underscores the company's disregard for basic standards of workmanship and respect for the homeowner. Fast forward to April 15, 2026: a Source Contracting employee came to remove cabinet doors to have them "repaired" rather than replaced--an apparent attempt to minimize costs on a high-end home. Since that day, there has been zero communication and zero follow-up. The doors remain unfixed. Other significant issues remain unresolved. What makes this situation even more frustrating is the visibility of Source Contracting's priorities. Their crew has been actively working on a neighboring home directly behind my mother's property--a house that has sat empty for nearly three years. Clearly, the manpower exists. It is simply reserved for new builds they can sell, not for standing behind homes they have already profited from. A company that takes pride in its work would correct defects, honor its warranty, and take responsibility without being publicly pressured. Source Contracting has demonstrated none of these qualities. The pattern here is clear: delay, deflect, placate, and disappear. As I stated in my previous review, I would not trust Source Contracting to build a dollhouse--certainly not a seven-figure "luxury" home. These people do not treat the home buyers honestly. At closing our boat lift was to be in working order by the end of the week 100 days ago. Still not their problem. They lied to me. Do not recommend using them for anything. Also heard they don't pay their vendors. Don't return text messages don't return phone calls. They take your money and hide. read more

We purchased our home in July 2024, and unfortunately our experience since then has been extremely frustrating. There have been numerous issues with the house that remain unresolved to this day. Despite sending multiple emails and requests for follow-up, we've received little to no response from the company. To be clear, the company has been fully aware of these issues for quite some time. Matthew Crawford received our inspection review on July 8, 2025, outlining the concerns in detail. Despite this, we did not receive any meaningful response until after we posted another negative review on November 19, 2025. After months of back-and-forth communication, the company finally came to our home and removed two kitchen cabinets to resize them. That was the last time we've heard from them. Since then, we've sent two additional emails and have still received no response. What makes this even more disappointing is that we regularly see their team actively working on a nearby property, seemingly prioritizing new sales over supporting existing homeowners. As current clients, we expected better communication, accountability, and a commitment to addressing outstanding concerns. Buying a home is one of the biggest investments a person can make, and it's disheartening to feel ignored after the purchase is complete. We hope the company takes responsibility and improves both their customer service and follow-through for homeowners who have already trusted them. read more

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the services (or lack thereof) provided by Source Contracting regarding their construction of the home we purchased and offered with a "1 YR Warranty" in Wilmington, NC. Despite numerous attempts to contact them regarding issues with the construction covered under the associated warranty, we have received no response whatsoever. Since moving into the home, we have encountered several issues that require attention under the warranty agreement that they promised to uphold. However, Source has proven to be entirely unreachable, failing to address any of our concerns despite repeated attempts to contact them via phone, text and email. This level of unresponsiveness is completely unacceptable and has left us feeling frustrated and neglected as a homeowner. Not only has Source failed to fulfill their obligations under the warranty agreement, but their lack of communication and disregard for customer service reflect poorly on their professionalism and integrity. We really trusted this company and they let us down. I thought being disappointed in them was behind us but today after having our H/A unit serviced & we were told our entire duct system was patched together with old & some new ducts, one old section crushedWe are still waiting for them to take care of our hardwoods, it's been two years so let's just say I'm not waiting on the doorbell to ring anytime soon. We are very happy with the purchase of our new construction in 2023 built by Source Contracting. While it's a small house (2bds, 2ba, less than 1000 sq ft) it feels very spacious and bright with the very high ceilings, ample windows, and well designed layout of the interior. We are also very happy with the fixtures of the kitchen, 2 full baths, & doors - they're tasteful, well thought out and cohesive. We would buy another house from this builder when it's time to upgrade to a bigger house. read more

We purchased a completely renovated home from Source and were so impressed with them that we contracted them to construct our garage/apartment. They consistently started each day of construction on time and would inform us if there was on a rare occasion a delay. Unfortunately the disappointment came at the very end when small yet extremely important esthetic details, that make a world of of difference in the "curb appeal " were left looking unfinished. Although photos of our improperly finished hardwoods were taken and we were assured would be fixed it never happened. They have a great vision and for the most part both parties enjoyed working together it was disappointing to invest so much money and not be completely satisfied. read more

Source contracting did a awful job maintaining the building I used to rent from them! To the extent that on 4 Different occasions people fell thru the floor! This contracting company is a joke! They did faulty repairs with no permits for a whole year! Put me and my staff at risk constantly! Then after the last incident when my mother fell through the floor during the repair they sold the building out breaking my 5 yr lease. So not only does this company not do quality work but after they have wrong me for a year they then sold property on Dec 9th but evicted me from property they no longer owned on Dec 14th! read more
