I highly recommend "Native Charter Company" -- family owned, native to the area, passionate about the Lemon Bay ecosystem, $25.00pp for one hour. They are licensed and take your safety seriously. Search them on Yelp, read my review plus pictures. TIP: wear sunscreen and shoes!!

There are manatee in the area. We didn't get to see any on our trip. Maybe next time.

We went early and found a spot - but probably only because it was COLD! Didn't matter. We walked the beach anyway on that cold windy day. It's pretty beach with different shells than you can find down the way at Englewood Beach, Blind Pass Beach or Manasota Key Beach. In our 10 min walk I scooped up a bunch of shells and TONS of sharks teeth. Hoping to make it back on a warm sunny day :)

I'm told it has an attraction for those who don't like to go to the beach then turn around to see a wall of Condominiums staring them in the face. The State Park there is worth a visit $3 parking) and the principle form of local transportation is Golf Carts even though you can arrive by gas powered iron horse...for now. Should you arrive by private jet, the former Rotonda International Airport (now hailing as Coral Creek Airport) is just a short jaunt down the road. Very low profile.

This place used to have crazy fun stuff like this waterfall in the pool for example. It felt luxurious and felt fun to be at even for all ages. But now every single aspect that was fun about the park has been stripped away. For example; the lazy river used to be fast and fun with buckets of water dropping on your head and water spraying and pouring above you with fun stuff to do with people everywhere, but now the river is fully empty and not one bucket or water pipes that leak water onto you are there. When I say zero I mean ZERO! Instead you've got this barren wasteland and husk of what it used to be. (Not to mention but the river is a bit TOO lazy. You barely move forward!) don't even get me started on the rebranding! There used to be this cool turtle guy who was the mascot and things were actually THEMED after him with like lily pads and turtle themed attractions; but now it's this stupid alligator guy who does not look welcoming or full of fun at all. Oh my god and the fountain sprinklers they used to have just don't even work. Like they're there but they just don't turn on at all and it used to be a big attraction there but now it's just dead. I can genuinely name 100 more things that were so much better then whatever lackluster amalgamation they have going on there. This park used to be fun and exciting, but everything that defined the park is gone. If you went there before it all went down the drain you'd know. It's really hard to explain how great this park used to be to someone who's only gone within the past year but it was truly magical. We need to get this park back to its former glory. But until this park gets its s*** together, don't go.

I also tried to call the place and confirm that we are on the family fun list but they routed me to a voicemail. I emailed their corporate email a few days ago with 0 reply. This established is poorly run. I wish I never got the family fun card because I don't want to come back.

It's so easy that we literally showed up two minutes before the birthday party started with no problems. You get to choose the theme and they supply everything, themed table covers themed plates, themed balloons, themed goodie bags! My son chose Ghostbusters, which I thought would be difficult for them to find, but they found a bunch of things. My older son chose Fortnite and that one was more mainstream, so I wasn't surprised that they did a good job. We got the package that came with 2 1/2 hours of bowling, $20 on game cards for all the kids, two large cheese pizzas (we added a third cheese pizza which was the right move since we had 15 kids), goodie bags and unlimited drinks for the kids. It is 6 kids per lane so with 15 kids we had three lanes. The only thing they don't supply is cake, which is so easy so we got a cookie cake and brought it. They even had Ghostbusters theme cake plates! I thought 2 1/2 hours was a bit ambitious for five-year-olds, but we use the entire time. They bowled for an hour then played arcade games for 30 minutes, then ate pizza, then ate cake, and then finished up their arcade cards/bowled a bit more. It was perfect. We started at 3 PM because they have cyber bowling with the lights off and colored lights flashing until four and then regular bowling from there on out. They have a designated party attendant that is constantly there to make sure the party is going well. She was fantastic. Having a birthday party here is so easy. It's a no-brainer. We will do it here every time.

This is a 9 acre history park in the center of Punta Gorda. I love the purpose of this park. It was…read moreformed to preserve the historic structures of the city. In 1988 the Hector House which is where the name of the town was changed from Trabeu to Punta Gorda was slated for demolition in 1998 and it was subsequently torn down. The city wanted to save the building but did not have a place to move it to so they created this park to display their buildings. The city moved the historic structures in danger of demolition to the park to protect them. The buildings are arranged around a small community garden meant to look like what you would have found here in 1890. Part of it contains a butterfly garden. The fountain in the center of the park was salvaged from the Hotel Punta Gorda when it was sold in 1925. This fountain and a downtown mural are the only reminders from the hotel built in 1897 as a stop on the Florida Southern Railroad. because the wooden hotel burned down in 1958. The park is maintained by the Punta Gorda Garden Club and the park is owned and operated by the Punta Gorda Historical Society. Right now there are are four structures in the park which include the Price House designed by architect Maxwell Price which now contains offices and restrooms, the Quednau-Hindman House which was a former mayors residence, the Cigar Cottage built to house workers of the El Palmetto Cigar Company factory, and the Trabue Land Management Office which also served as the post office.Three of the buildings are opened for tours from 10 to 2 daily and by appointment. Each of the buildings has a QR code in front of them so you can learn about them even if they are not open. The park also has a community produce garden tended by local families and it is the site of a weekly farmers market on Sundays. The gardens and Price House can be rented for private events. The park also serves as the trail head for Linear Park and the Shared Use path.

In the 1990's the land for the 21 acre park was purchased with funds from the Florida Community Trust. The park has several gardens: butterfly, flower, herb and spice with benches and picnic tables. There is a multi use recreational trail winding through habitats including wetlands, pine palmetto forest, salt/high marsh habitats,and disturbed upland. Boardwalks and an observation deck are along the trail. Volunteers maintain and enhance the park and offer nature lectures and training in the outdoor classroom. The park is used for walking, bird watching, photography, environmental lessons, and wildlife observation. Since it is well suited to all of these outdoor activities, it was given the name Nature Park. On my hike i saw a red-shouldered hawk, crabs, and rabbits. The entire walk was approximately a mile. I really enjoyed getting exercise in this beautiful park. Finding this nature oasis in the middle of a neighborhood was one of my favorite discoveries of the day.

I think this little park had a previous diferent name. It is a nice park with a big water fountain and a gazebo on the side that can be rented. This park has a big long black wall with the names engraved of Vietnam veterans. It is quite a sight so see so many names. There are other dedications and tributes around this park dedicated to the different type of armed forces that defended this country. One side of the park had a mural. It had a QR code with more information and history on it. I think I saw it in another plaque too. It is so cool how technology makes things easier and interactive. There is plenty of parking spaces to park across this park. A big lot. I am glad I stopped by. History should never be given the opportunity to be forgotten.
