She had finished several music classes at our local charter school which spurred interest in this pursuit. Several of her friends also play the instrument and gave her informal pointers. So I found Brio music studio and observed her first lesson with her teacher, Ken... he was patient, professional, and thorough in guiding my daughter through various deficiencies in posture, and finger and palm placement, and poise... I was worried that these first few minutes of firm correction would discourage her. However the next 28 minutes he selected quick checks on each page of the beginner book. Page after page praised her for her knowledge of music theory and the music scales and noted her middle school training gave her strong music reading skill. So 31 pages later, she was put on point with 3 songs and text where she needed to practice. She felt comfortable and enjoyed that first lesson and wanted to try a month.... Now in our second month she is well over half way through the adult basic book. I am amazed. My daughter loves practicing piano and attending her weekly music lessons at Brio. So even though many of the students at this school are young children... have confidence that it well handles adult learners too! My daughter timidly took her first piano lesson as a junior in high school and Brio music studio has accelerated her learning and much improved her piano playing. She is currently working on pieces by Bach and does practice of her own accord several hours a day. And this 6 week progress has come after weekly 30minute lessons at Brio Music studio. We started with the fundamentals -- setting up a proper layout in Pro Tools -- and gradually worked our way toward more advanced concepts like creating mix buses for melodies, drums, and vocals. I really appreciated how he connected each step to real-world workflows, so you could see how it would apply in an actual studio session. What stood out most was Prophet's ability to make technical concepts feel simple and actionable. He kept the pace steady, encouraged questions, and made sure everyone understood before moving forward. It never felt rushed, and every section built logically on the last, so by the end, you had a complete picture of how a track comes together. In the future, it would be great to see even more hands-on opportunities and perhaps the chance to collaborate with artists directly -- which would make the learning experience even richer.
