She then meticulously makes the slip covers! I cannot rave enough about the final result! Our couch was in great condition, but the fabric was dated, and we wanted to lighten up the room. In Tom Farruggio, I found an artist with profound skills and understanding of history and materials, that comes both from the method under which he was instructed, the very European school of apprenticeship in furniture restoration, and his love for what he is doing. In his case it is a family thing, great-grandfather to grandfather to father to son. I'm willing to bet if you brought Tom the broken off carved foot of something you thought was a chair, he could make the chair, or thought was a table, he could make the table. Tom has completely changed my eye when I go antique shopping. When I used to see broken bits and pieces of what were very nice antiques, I'd pass. Now, if I like the pieces, I know Tom can provide the final piece. It is a kind of magic. And this can be virtually any piece if it is from wood. Consider, you love the look of a rope bed, but you have a memory foam mattress system that comforts your back. That rope bed frame isn't going to hold your memory foam mattress. Unless you find Tom and he fashions a compete frame from the historical parts and other historical parts with unseen joins. And then you vision is executed. This is especially so with inlaid veneers. My husband and I love French and Italian inlaid works. And you see them wrecked on the inlays and with broken bones. Tom can fix the bones and work his magic on the inlays. And you'd never know it. What we have also come to appreciate is that we can present Tom with a sketch of our idea of (in our case) an Art Deco waterfall cabinetry system, some color ideas, and such will appear. It is delicious. We compete for his time with his other clients and hence are patient. And he, like we, have our family challenges, and like we, family comes first.

If you want to proceed they have their technicians come out to restore your leather. They are so professional and took every precaution in my house to isolate the room they were working on. They placed plastic around the room and closed in their work area. The process used was so amazing. I look at the furniture everyday and can't believe they saved it. I feel I have brand new furniture. Reasonably priced and so professional. They do office, residential and airplanes. I'm not kidding their product is unbelievable.
