Good honest work at a very fair price. Don't go in with an attitude; he's not a shiny new car dealer overcharging at every turn.

We were driving from upstate NY to MD in the middle of the night and our pretty new, low milage car…read moredecided to start shaking. With two babies in the car we couldn't afford to take the chance and drive 300 more miles in a shaky car. We got a nearby hotel and the next day tried to get our car looked at. We tried the nearest place that just happened to be a Honda dealership and they were brusque and told me that it would take several hours to even take a look at the car. It had been a stressful night (kids decided the hotel room was way cool and did not sleep, 18 mo are crazy little people), and this was just another low. I called around to a few garages and everyone told me the same thing - they couldn't fit me in. I needed to know whether to have my car towed or not!! Finally, thankfully I reached Forty Fort and Lube. Lisa answered the phone and told me they would fit me in. I put on my hazards and drove the 5 miles to their garage granny style. Not only did they take me in earlier than they said they could, they were kind, gracious, and courteous (especially when I unceremoniously burst in to tears of relief at their kindness) They were able to diagnose and fix my car in under an hour, all the while being absolutely lovely company - making small talk when I needed it and letting me be to make the phone calls I needed to. I generally love small businesses compared to big corporations/chains, and this just reinforced my gut instincts. If you need your car checked out, go here for incredibly professional service, served with a smile and great attitude by Lisa and Joe. Thank you again. You guys rock!

ECM "programming" upsell factory. Brought my 2014 GMC…read moreTerrain in. Quoted ~$1,300 for ECM + install + programming after a $212 diagnostic (supposed to roll into the repair). I supplied a pre-programmed, VIN-matched ECM to keep it simple and cheap. They still tried to tack on a $200-$300 "programming" fee, claiming "your key won't work without it." Reality check: after they installed the ECM, the car started immediately with my original key. No special programming needed. When I asked for the standard GM SPS/TIS programming session log to prove anything was actually flashed, they wouldn't provide it. If programming was necessary or performed, producing that log takes 30 seconds. They couldn't--because the upsell wasn't real. Other gotchas: the diagnostic "credit" only applies if you buy their parts (not disclosed up front), and they hide behind "Global A requires SPS" as a blanket excuse to sell full reflash even when a VIN-matched module starts the car just fine. Post-install, they tried to keep the narrative going; I removed the vehicle to stop the billing creep. Bottom line: they tried to turn a $400-$600 ECM swap into $1,300 with invented "programming" and zero documentation. If you go here, demand itemized labor and the SPS session report before paying for any programming. If they can't show it, walk. I won't be back.

As I traveled from Maine to Pennsylvania on Sunday I had unexpected car trouble; at times I did not…read morethink I'd make it. We still have to travel from Pennsylvania to Florida, so we needed to have the car looked at. We were able to get it into the local dealership in Wilkes-Barre. Unfortunately they told us we needed a new transmission, which would cost $9000, and it would take at least two weeks to repair it. My brother-in-law checked with a friend of his to find a local mechanic who could give us a second opinion. He recommended Dan Riley, a transmission specialist who owns Reliable Auto Repair in Wyoming, PA. Dan listened to us describe the issues, took apart the applicable areas of the car, did some needed adjustments, and the car is now working fine. Even with the new brakes it needed the bill came to less than $1000. We are very grateful there are still ethical car repair facilities in the world. Thank you Dan. We highly recommend Reliable Auto Repair in Wyoming!
