Bill's place, where do I start. I lived in La Grange for 7 years before going to college in Rochester NY and this place has lived rent free in my head during my time at college. I remember when I would ride my bike here and pick up a burger or pizza. Always friendly staff and the nicest owner. Had many amazing experiences with Bill's and the food was always amazing. I also really like the old style diner setting when visiting as well. One very notable instance was when my family catered from here for a cross country pasta party and the pasta blew expectations. (For a place I wrongly assumed was going to have subpar pasta when compared to its amazing chicken, pizza, and burgers I had my doubts about its pasta obliterated.) Pizza was always delish and the broasted chicken was always a highlight whenever I ordered it. My boyfriend grew up in the area and was very excited to come back on our most recent trip. The place is very old school diner feeling, but very clean. The food is made right in front of you. There's free refills on drinks and everything was ready very fast. I got the grilled chicken sandwich (it comes with fries) they did NOT skimp on the meat. There were two breast on it, perfectly cooked. My boyfriend got the Chicago hot dog, fries, and a cheeseburger. Everything was delicious and fresh. The place was clean and comfortable. I went in for some ice cream. The girl at the counter had a full plate of food she was eating right by the register. She wiped her hands with a dirty rag, paused, and then decided to quickly wash her hands. It's unsanitary for the employees to eat around the food that they are preparing. I blame the person/people who trained her. It would be great to see her don new disposable gloves for every order she is making- especially since she is also working the cash register. Otherwise, she was very pleasant and respectful. Customer service is kind of dead all over so it's refreshing to run into such an authenticly kind employee. read more

The food here are just perfect, but the pickup service needs some help. I got there a few minutes early and was told our meals were being made. I saw the cook grilling a burger and told him medium rare was good for me. Then I found out our meals were done and sitting on top of the counter, thanks to the guy that told me not ready yet. I guess he couldn't walk 15 feet away to check pickup packages. They need a better system. read more

I've eaten there several times and some food is good, not great but good. Broasted chicken was fine except the breast was incredibly dry. Almost inedible. the rest was good. Was craving crinkle cut fries, and the Greek fries are my kryptonite. Great place for a quick bite to eat and has lots of options on the menu for everyone. The gyros is delicious with piles of meat on the pita. The ham and cheese pita is simple, yet satisfying. My favorite meal is the pork chop dinner that includes a pita, rice, and a salad. Enough for left overs! Tonight we ordered the broasted chicken for friends and they raved about the chicken and potatoes. The restaurant has a diner feel with plenty of seating. You can actually see your food being made too! Next door is their ice cream shop if you need a sweet fix. Service is quick even at their busiest. During peak hours traffic is annoying especially for the residents, and parking can be a hassle, but lots of street parking options. read more

I I've been a Bill's customer for many many years. A few years ago I became wheelchairbound And now need to rely on their delivery service. This problem is a problem over about twenty different deliveries. I typically order a roast beef sandwich and some sort of side. I always ask the order taker to make sure that the sandwich comes to be totally drowned in the gravy sauce like super wet. That's the only way I like my beef sandwiches. I probably spend more than half of my time telling the order taker exactly how I want the sandwich. Drown it in juice and put the wrapped sandwich in a container. This is how I like it, and the second half of the sandwich that I can't eat will be enjoyable the next day. Drown the sandwich. Every other beef place does it on request. Finally the one that I had about a couple weeks ago from them was perfect. So I explained it again to the guy that took my order last night. And what I got delivered was dried bun with hardly no juice on my beef.. When I called back to complain the guy hung up on me Really???? I really wanted to talk to the manager. Val??? But the guy that was on call who said his name was Junior I think basically told me that it's my fault for not telling him how I wanted to be made. Is this guy fricking crazy???? This is going on long enough. They have lost a long time customer. I don't think I'm asking my sandwich to be the way I like it is unreasonable. Including a few pictures of the dry bread So you are basically telling me that I should make my own sandwich. Go to the Jewel and get all I need? If I gave YOU my order for a totally drowned beef sandwich would I get a dried piece of bun under by beef? Especially after me asking you three or four times to make it the way I like it. This has not just happened once or twice. It seems like you guys are doing this just to piss me off. This used to be one of my favorites growing up and something we got almost weekly. I ordered it today because I have missed the chicken fajita. I understand times are a hard, but quality shouldn't be missing. I also ordered the turkey club wrap to try something different. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to eat either. We were in the neighborhood and wanted to support Bill's Place for all that they do for the neighborhood. We ordered via Yelp and our order was completed ASAP. We got there and it was done a lot quicker than grub hub estimated. And pickup was easy. I ordered the popular bacon cheeseburger and my daughter ordered the pizza puff and chili cheese fries. We were so stuffed from our meals, we skipped dinner. And our exchange was friendly! A smile and a thank you. Great place, will try to go more often rather than the place over in westchester. High prices were not worth the amount of food. Ordered a gyro plate and they cut the pita in half, no way to make a sandwich. Asked for no tomatoes on the order, then proceeded to watch the line cook realize he added them, then curse and pull them off with his bare hands! Restaurant Delivery Roulette #3 (game rules explained in my Los Fernandez Rosticeria review) I told the bf I wanted something lighter this time around and he orders me 5 lbs worth of Italian beef. I ain't even mad. That's why I like this dumb game I made up. I probably would have never thought I would have received a freakin' awesome beef from this unassuming place, but here we are. It was goooood. And like what someone else said in their review, when my bf made the order, it didn't specify how "wet" the sammy was going to be. It was perfect. Not dunked, but a good ladle-ful was probably poured on top of this bad boy. They are not skimpy with the meat. It was a heavy sandwich filled with juicy, tender meat and the perfect amount of giardiniera. Sandwich was awesome and very affordable. The greek fries were not good. Pass on those. Super generic and the feta didn't do much to bring out any flavors worth mentioning. Would indulge here again. read more

A great neighborhood takeout joint! Quick service at the counter. In addition to the usual menu items like burgers, beefs, hot dogs and polish sausages, they have broasted chicken and pizza. And both are really good! Somehow, as diversified as they are, they manage to do it all well. Found this on yelp when I was in the area. It is a local fast food place. You go up to the counter and order. Then they call your number and you go pick it up. There is a 50 cent charge for a pop refill. Food was goo and place clean. Still hungry? Ice cream room connected to restaurant. Get a sweet treat after. read more
