    Sausage Pizza Slice from Casciani's

This is a true South Side of Chicago joint, the food is great and prices still good i don't know anywhere you can still get a huge slice of pizza for under 4! The Italian ice had a million times never get tired ask the flavors it changes every day they will mix flavors for you also! Had so much off the menu it's all amazing! I grew up in Bridgeport and this is very very close to those old neighborhood fast food joints it takes me back for sure! Love love love go there you will not be sorry!

First time here & was disappointed. I ordered a beef sandwich with sweet & hot peppers. At first glance, it looked amazing, right from the first bite I knew looks were deceiving. The sweet peppers were ice cold & the beef itself was rubberized & dry. Not much else to say other than the beef sandwich gets a 2 out of 5 stars from me today

Amazing slice! Every time I visit the area I make sure I drop in - even if I have to go out of my way to do so. The cheese and sausage slices are an all-time favorite, and we're going back 20+ years. Do yourself a favor and give them a try!

Ok I grew up in Chicago on the breaded steak sandwich dipped in red sauce with generous melty mozzarella cheese from another place which I was perfectly happy with but when I saw the best of Chicago not showing my place but some suburban place I just had to check them out. The place looks small from the outside but it's bigger than it looks so seating should be no problem. I went for lunch on Black Friday and the place was mobbed but the staff is obviously use to this because they pounded out all the orders with a machine like focus and no one seemed overwhelmed. The place obviously has some real history with a following judging by all the autographed photos hanging on the walls and proudly displaying an article about the Chicago bears and the story of Mike Ditka ordering the pizza before winning the super bowl on the best of Chicago show. If your not from the Chicago area than the breaded steak sandwich thing is foreign to most people but it's a tenderized/pounded steak breaded and fried, dipped in red sauce and covered in mozzarella cheese traditionally but you can delete or add peppers, cheese and red sauce. Is it the best bread, red sauce or cut of steak, no it's a great Chicago area sandwich and not a fine steak house. It's served differently from my place which is a big messy rolled mess of a sandwich because it's open faced and can be eaten cleanly with a knife and fork. It's simple Chicago comfort food, good bread topped with thin breaded steak dipped in red sauce and topped generous melty mozzarella cheese. Overall I can see the appeal of this place and why it's been around for so long because it nails the back in the day Chicago area food scene which is not fancy but just great Chicago area food.

    Ribeye steak sandwich

2 weeks ago I was here in this place and ordered 2 ribeye steak sandwich and 2 order of fries with cheese, everything was cold starting with the steak sandwich, the steak sandwich supposed to be hot and also the fries but not, first time ever in this place and never will go back, not good for me

    Great specials!

The deep dish pizza AND the thin crust pizza we ordered were both delicious! We've been customers since moving to the area in the 1980's!

Smells amazing the whole time. Staff was great. Sean helped us out and gave some solid recommendations. We went with the pepperonly pizza. When it hit the table, the presentation looked amazing. First bite... that was it. The crust had that perfect crunch on the outside but still soft inside. You could taste that wood-fired char, just enough to give it that smoky edge. The cheese was melted just right, stretchy and hot. The sauce had a nice balance, a little tangy, a little sweet, not overpowering anything. The pepperoni was the best part. Crispy on the edges, a little oily in a good way, and full of flavor. Every bite just worked. Thin, balanced, nothing too heavy. If you like pizza, this is one of those spots you gotta try. I'd go back for that one easy.

It's a shareable, tapas-style dining experience, which makes it ideal for groups. We ordered the Fried Mozz Brick, which was good but didn't quite wow our group. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the Caesar salad, always a go-to for me and this one met my expectations. For pizzas, we tried the Pepper Only, the Sausage Fest, and The Original Mr. Beef, and that one ended up being my favorite. Definitely the star of the night. The drink menu is also great. Lots of options depending on what you're in the mood for. And as a mom, I have to mention the bathroom situation. Although it's downstairs, it's clean, spacious and private, and they have a changing table, which honestly makes such a difference. Believe it or not, not every place thinks about that, and it's always appreciated. Overall, a great spot for groups with good food, good drinks, and an aesthetic interior that left me wanting to go back for more.

We were seated immediately. Both the host and our waitress were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a mixed drink which was very well done. One area that could have been improved upon was the wait times. This included for my drink. They were a little too long. They weren't outrageous. Just a little too long. When we ordered our food, I miss ordered and the waitress thankfully asked enough questions to figure out what I really wanted. Great job on her behalf. The food itself was amazing. The baked sausage Paisano was huge, piping hot, and delicious! My friend ordered a calzone which was also huge and she also enjoyed. A final note would be that they need to wipe down the folders for the checks more often.. When she put our bill on the table, there were greasy smudges over half of the folder. Not a great last impression. So overall, our experience was great. And based on how well it went I can definitely suggest others to give it a try.
