In a smaller town, taxi service is not always dependable. But for those of us who are regular customers, this particular taxi service, the only one in town, can be a lifeline. You need to order a cab in advance when possible. And I learned from exerience that when a particular employee took the reservation, it was wise to call back later, speak to someone else to "confirm" the reservation, and correct the errors in time, day, or location the first guy had made. (Ironically, that guy has been moved to another location in the firm, at increased salary.) But my experience with almost all the other Bill's Taxi employees has made me appreciate their kindness, their neighborly attitude, and the lengths they will go to on behalf of a regular customer. No, they are not available all night long. No, they do not clearly announce in advance any seasonal changes in availability of cabs, and yes, they are more expensive than Lyft or Uber. Those are corporate decisions; on the level of individual employees, they are professional, caring, and like the rest of us, they work hard for their income. They will do their best to accommodate a fare; you just have to be clear in what you ask for and be a bit flexible when you can. read more

I just paid $72.50 to take a 15 mile trip from Middleboro to W. Bridgewater. They sent a wheelchair van when all I needed was a car to get me to a doctor's appointment. The driver got me there in time but we drove a very roundabout route so I'm glad the trip was pre-booked but I don't know what I paid for. 15 miles within their service area should not have cost over $70.00 but when I called to check on this, I was told that a wheelchair van costs $60.00 + $6 for some other cost. That's $66.00 but the woman on the phone did not explain the additional cost, only cited the cost of gas. I fell trying to get into this vehicle because the running boards were both narrow & high. And while the driver was nice, the person didn't seem at all prepared to handle a situation like this, driving a wheelchair vehicle. Thank goodness I didn't do more than skin my shin. I have lived in Middleboro for years & used Bill's taxi many times, but now that it's apparently been sold to a larger transportation service, it's taking advantage. I was driving like 15 minutes ago and whoever drove the van license plate number 102257 is a terrible driver. I was waiting at a red light with two lanes and he realized he was in the wrong lane so he backed up and moved to the right side. Rather than wait til the light changed because literally no one else could move (there was no room) he just kept honking his horn until people were forced to move. He almost hit my car. And he had the nerve to give me a dirty look. Whoever that guy is I hope he gets fired he cannot drive. read more

Dile a ride never come to pick me up at Mansfield crossing at all so my mom had to come pick me up

Called Bill's Taxi at 4:22 pm to arrange a ride for 6 pm ,,, was told they could be there at 7:15 to 7:30pm ... I Don't understand how I Pay almost 30 dollars for a 10 minute ride (including tip) and try to call in advance , why it is so difficult to have a driver there when i request or within a reasonable time frame? Guess I could understand if it is the first time this happened. but this seems to be a frequent occurrence !! Very dissatisfied !!! read more

Unfortunately you get one star because yelp wouldn't let me post this review otherwise. This taxi service ( if that's even what you want to call it ) received 0 stars. If it was possible to give it a negative star, that's what I would give them. To start off, our driver tells us we have to pay 30 dollars because we are out of their "range" or "zone." Then he was late. Then the driver didn't have a GPS. So he didn't know where he was going or even the address of where we were going. After using my OWN phone to get us there. A car ride that should have taken 20 minutes to get there, cost us almost 100 dollars. To top it off, we got lost going there and the meter kept on running. After getting to our destination, we made sure to tell the driver we would need him later. We called the taxi service later that night and they informed us that once again because we a were out of their "zone" it would be 60 dollars up front before the meter. 30 dollars to get to us and then to get back. Who does that?! And on top of a meter??? We weren't happy about the price and we voiced that but still wanted the service. To make things easier for the driver, we took a shuttle to a local hotel. We got there exactly 12:30. The only time they informed us they could pick us up. We called them at 12:30 and the woman on the phone claimed that she thought because of the price THAT WE DIDNT WANT THE SERVICE. After arguing, she told us that they close in 20 minutes so no one could get us!!! So now we are stranded with NO RIDE!!!!! So not only did you provide the worst service ever, you left five people who aren't from the area stranded in the middle of no where MA. Unfortunately you don't have many competitors up there so that is probably the only reason why your service even gets business. BIGGEST RIP OFF and HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I'm surprised you even consider yourself a business after what I experienced yesterday. read more
