He's also very easily distracted and needs to be in a fenced in park...enter Brookline Avenue Playground. I doubt we'll get there much in the warmer weather when it is an off-leash park only before 1 pm, but for the winter months, dogs have free reign of this large space all day. It's right on Brookline Ave, which means street parking is readily accessible. There is also a water fountain, but I didn't see any poop bag stations- good thing we brought our own. It wasn't too crowded in the late afternoon today, but the couple of owners I did meet were cool. There is definitely space for dogs and owners to do their own thing, or for the dogs to play together.

Gone is the old, faded equipment and in its place are multiple different modern play structures suitable for the whole range of ages, from young toddlers up. The entire park is fenced in and the younger kids play area is separately fenced within it. Only complaint is that I wish the town had sprung for the cushiony rubber surface rather than woodchips under the play equipment.

The structures are more geared towards older toddlers and kids but there is a fun little roller slide and a sand pit for the little ones to explore. Just be careful when walking next to the sand pit because the sand makes the rubber floor very slippery for little kids. Lots of shade for hot days but no bathrooms though. A large grass field with several chairs means you can enjoy a nice picnic as well.

I have been going to this park almost every day for nearly four years. As far as parks in Brookline…read morego, it's definitely one of the best. It has a large grass area, picnic benches (which can be reserved online for private events), a water fountain area, and a playground. The grass is completely surrounded by a walkway, and the park is mostly surrounded by a low chain link fence. It's big enough so that even when there are quite a few groups, you can have enough space to spread out on the grass. The park is also part of the Green Dog program from sunrise to 9am. Check it out! Roll around in the grass! Watch out for the occasional dog poo!

One stick is missing from the xylophone and the drums weren't very fun but still good. The biggest slide was fun too. My favorite is that spinning green swirl, super fun physics to that, just don't hit your head or limbs on the surrounding support beams lol.
