His bid was fair and the most reasonable of the three companies I solicited. He charged exactly what he bid, communicated well about when he was coming (seems well-organized), is reliable, hard-working, experienced, and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond what we hired him to do, as I was tasked with digging a 14' x 18" trench to bury the electrical conduit for the stub up to the hot tub before the slab could be poured, and Juan simply helped me dig it (he had much better tools for the job). I think Juan's willingness to work hard for the success of his jobs and help with something additional like this is rare and valuable. When the job was complete, Juan thoroughly cleaned up all remnants of gravel, etc... on the road, in the carport, and in the backyard. However, we had more issues had I known I would have had someone else do the work. Biggest issues: 1-they accepted a verbal yes, never ever sent over a quote in writing. I had to demand one. 2- communication is the absolute worst, after the quote we never heard from them again until we came home to a pile of gravel left in our front yard. We had to call them to see if they left the gravel. 3- never verified when they would be there to do the work. 4-the owner Jim is worse then a car sales person trying to keep the job. 5- they have no care about your property, they broke our sidewalk, they bent my gate latch and left it. Again no communication about those items. 6-Clean up is horrible, we had leaked oil left all along our street, we ended up spending our evening cleaning up after them.

When I saw my house sinking and developing small cracks, I thought it was going to be devistating. It wasn't. I had no idea they could do what they do and for a surprisingly reasonable price. The whole process, from sales (Ashton) to completion, was so much better than I thought. When Dylan, Jaxon, Joseph and Brayden came to do the job, they were thourough and polite. They immediately put down runners to keep my flooring clean. They even called me "sir". The job was dirty but they kept it all contained. Most importantly, they kept me informed about the entire process and eased my concerns at every turn. At one point one of the workers tripped on a sprinkler pipe and "broke it". They immediately told me and insisted on fixing it. It really wasn't even broken. It was such a minor thing but was an example of their dedication to integrity and the quality of their work. I even heard them competing amongst themselves about who could do the cleanest cement finish. I don't write these reviews very often but I am so glad I had Groundworks do this job for me, I had to.

Disappointed. We had a terrible experience with these guys. We hired them to extend our driveway…read moreand add a fence post. It was easy to get them scheduled, but that's where it stopped being easy. The crew came out to demo my yard to prepare for the new concrete and they took chunks out of my existing driveway. They also destroyed my sprinklers and we had to wait an extra week or so for a replacement part to come in. They also destroyed my neighbors sprinkler and took some of their decorative bricks and threw them in a garbage heap, which caused awkwardness between us and them. They put all the dirt from the demo on my existing driveway and left it there for like 5 days, blocking my wife's car in. When they came back to frame it up they kept forgetting about parts of the project (fence post, putting metal under my stairs for support, how we wanted to grade the cement for a basketball hoop, details I had to go through with them like 10x and it was still chaos when the cement came). They would schedule the pour and then I wouldn't hear from them. I took multiple days off work for the pour that never came. When the day finally came they had the cement truck pull on my driveway directly and it cracked so bad they had to cut out a piece and frame it up on the fly. The fence post that I paid them to set is hollow (no wood holding it up). They didn't dig a hole, they just set the post in the cement and called it good. After the job was done we saw a bunch of chips in our existing driveway, and some of the new cement crumbling away. I've been calling them since they poured and keep getting the runaround. They'll tell me they'll have someone out and then go silent. Once I paid them they went dark. They promise a warrenty on the work but once you pay you're no longer a priority. I still text Teki and Garrett once every week or two begging them for help. Our cement was poured in May (it's now September). They'll tell me that they'll get someone out next week and go quiet again. I didn't want to leave a bad review because they seem like nice people, but it's been a nightmare.

Lee High and his team did such a fantastic job! Our small backyard was made up of a mix of old…read morepavers, a small concrete slab and a rotting deck. It was so much unusable space for such a small patio area. And in the front our driveway was sinking and there was a weird step up to the main door that was at an angle and a safety hazard. So after we demoed the backyard ourselves we hired Lee to lay down stamped stained concrete over the entire backyard (wrapping around the side), new concrete steps up to the back door, replace the driveway in the front and fix the front door step. When we pulled up the back deck to our surprise, we also found out there was an old severely sloping drainage grate under it. Lee leveled everything so that it would drain into this hole more gently so that the whole area was flat and usable and then installed a fresh smaller box. He took the time to think through how to work out our irrigation under the concrete and how the concrete would come up to the fence. They also pulled the bush in the front and the small old concrete slab in the back for us. On top of all the careful detail on the texture and saw lines, Lee's team went above and beyond and got the job done in about a week! We really couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. It is now beautiful, functional space.
