Our sofa had a classic frame with oversized seat cushions and feathered back cushions approximately 20 years old, and the fabric was showing signs of wear and tears in two distinct areas along with the frames fabric. Ed suggested semi-firm foam replacements which was perfect, and thought that the fabric would be fine for now, but consider a fabric change next time I decide needed new foam cushions. So 5 years later I decided this October to replace them again, Ed suggested that future cushion replacement may not be feasible due to the fabrics extensive wear. He suggested that I consider reupholstering as we were unable to find a suitable replacement in the market. Our needs required a comfortable couch that could accommodate two dogs and two humans. The market was lacking style and craftsmanship. So I made an appointment with his lovely wife Lily, who manages the showroom. Lily suggested we browse through the MULTIPLE design books, guiding this upholstery fabric novice on what would and would not be great for a sofa especially if we catered to spoiling our 4 legged friends. We spent several hours carefully deciding on a texture and a color until we found the perfect one. To ensure that the project was completed before the holidays, Ed's plan was to do this project in 2 phases so we'd have something to sit on while the reupholstering of the sections was happening. The process was seamless, Ed and his team made sure that each sections transport was properly packed and protected since of course it was time for the rainy season to begin. The final result is a beautiful couch with fabric that will last for years. They went above and beyond to make this project a success even as the holidays approached they were confident that I'd have a new couch Christmas and they delivered! If you are looking for a completely new look for your furniture, Custom Upholstery can provide exceptional results. I highly recommend them, as their craftsmanship is truly exceptional. Ed has been in the business for over 20 years, and his expertise is evident in every aspect of the project. This husband and wife team are both passionate, professional and committed to customer care.

Fibrenew Rocklin - Before and after, like a brand new steering wheel!

However, 8 months later, it is back to the original damaged condition. I have reached out many times over several weeks via phone, text, and email and neither Sam nor anyone from the company responded. I did get one text from them asking me to send a photo which I sent immediately, with no response or follow up from Fibrenew. The lack of communication and not being willing to discuss why the repairs did not last is not professional. My messages were polite and patient, but I was not treated with the courtesy of any reply. I wish they had told me up front that the repairs might not last. They should have made the effort to respond (at minimum) and/or try the repairs again to stand behind their services.

He was able to schedule us for an appointment that worked out perfectly for us. I'm amazed at how meticulous he works, even despite being in the hot garage on close to 100 degree days. He restored the steering wheel and leather seats for my husband's classic car and my husband is thrilled! So glad we found Sam and Fibrenew. Now we know who to call if we ever need leather restoration projects and where to send all our friends and family. He has a mobile service so he comes to you! Friendly guy, great attention to detail, reasonable prices, a local gem!
