I took my very sick Cane Corso into this facility on October 19, 2025. She is very well socialized, nonaggressive and melts in your hands as soon as you talk baby to her. My experience at this facility was terrible to say the least. I will never set foot in another pet wellness clinic after this experience. Dr. Pinkerton was obviously fearful of large breed dogs As she was very startled, and jumpy, when my dog would move or make any type of noise. My dog was clearly unsettled by her presence, and she did absolutely nothing to try to calm the situation. In fact, she only escalated it. She spent absolutely no time trying to connect with my dog to make her feel comfortable. Instead, she chose to be condescending and make it sound like I have done no training with my dog and no socialization with my dog. My dog has gone to four weeks of obedience training where she stayed on site overnight. She is socialized as much as a Cane Corso could be. I am very responsible in understanding the breed and doing the things to make sure she's the best version of a Cane Corso she can be. I bring both of my dogs to work with me every day. I work at a car dealership so they are constantly meeting and greeting new people. My dog does get nervous in vet clinics and just needs someone with some compassion to speak kindly to her and let her feel safe and then she's completely fine. Dr. Pinkerton did NONE of those things. I felt as if she had no intentions of even helping me and wanted me and my dog out of the office. At one point I even said "never mind we'll go somewhere else. It's clear you don't want to help us." SHE WAS TRYING TO GET ME TO GET MY 100 POUND CANE CORSO UP ON A METAL RISING TABLE TO DO AN EXAM WHEN CLEARLY MY DOG WAS SCARED!!! To me that didn't even seem safe as my dog could have fallen off the table and gotten injured. It was absolutely ludicrous. Dr. Pinkerton was very insulting, extremely uncomfortable and had even my nerves rattled, so I can only imagine how my dog felt picking up on all of her nervous/negative energy. Maybe she's a great vet with smaller breeds and if that's the case, she shouldn't have even taken our appointment and instead let another veterinarian who is more skilled with large breeds handle us. I have since found an amazing veterinarian clinic who does not require me to DRUG my dog before bringing her in. They get down on the floor and play with her and snuggle with her and my dog gives them kisses and all the love. They earned her trust and vice versa. It is the most precious thing ever! My dog feels comfortable and safe with my new vet and knows that they have her best interest and safety in mind because they take the time and they show her love and compassion. If you have a large breed dog, I would highly recommend not seeing Dr. Pinkerton if you utilize this facility. This isn't our normal vet and this was an emergency situation that's why we had to deal with Dr. Pinkerton however, our normal vet was with the Carmel pet wellness clinic, and I even feel like they were scared of my dog. As a 10 week old puppy they suggested she be on trazodone before coming to any vet appointments and that never set well with me. We have since switched facilities and it is 1000% a different experience. read more

I'm sad to report that I had my dachshunds will no longer be cared for by Binford Pet Wellness Clinic. In 2019, I perceived that the clinic had undergone a makeover with lots of new changes. While I liked the new location, I have been very displeased with the staff interactions and don't have the sense of trust I used to with this clinic. In 2019, I did not see my usual vet, Dr. Dardin, after having her as my pets' vet for five years. Further, when I requested her, the request was not honored. More importantly, the staff repeatedly incorrectly identified my dogs' names and genders, and I witnessed them do that with other dogs as well. As someone who treats her dogs like her children, that doesn't sit well with me. Ultimately, I don't feel valued, and because of that, I'm not going to invest my time and money at Binford Pet Wellness. If you are someone who values relationship, then I would not recommend this vet to you based on the experiences I have had in the last year. UPDATE FROM THE UPDATE: Hilary from Binford Pet Wellness Clinic called and listened to me express my feelings about the experiences I've had in 2019. She let me know that some of those staff members I found issue with had been let go. She also asked me to reconsider leaving and some options if I stayed. While I find it's best to transfer to another clinic at this time, I appreciated her phone call and holding space for me to speak. Her words and actions proved that Binford Pet Wellness Clinic does care and holds a high standard. I just got a golden retriever puppy and did some research on good vets in the area. Pet wellness had both great reviews and seemed affordable. I have been very pleased with all my visits. I signed up for the prime membership and it is 100% worth it with a new puppy and all their shots. It includes free exams and tick/heartworm prevention each month. Everyone on the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The vets seem to know what they are talking about and do not push you to have things done if you aren't comfortable with it. I will continue to be a loyal customer! You prep you pet for a visit at 4 am and then you get them there after you give them the pre-prescribed sedation medication, and then the groomer doesn't show up the day after the Super Bowl. Then, you reschedule, and they are nasty about it and inform you that you need a fecal sample, out of nowhere! "It doesn't matter if he shares the same litter box as others, if one has it they all have it". Not true, I have many pets on prescription food. Like they said, "hey, at least you got practice". So, your time is worth nothing and there is no professionalism. If you have a job, how many times can you "practice". I lost all confidence. Never, ever again and I've raised pets for over 50 years. They are in an easily accessible area, they always work to accommodate my preferred scheduling time, the techs are upfront and transparent about service charges, and the staff/vets are very friendly/knowledgeable. I've not had a bad experience here yet, and they work hard to keep my Missy dog happy/healthy (including the free phone advice I was given after she pulled a piece of waxed paper with 18 Christmas cookies onto the floor and proceeded to eat EVERY LAST ONE!) Really like the care that my dogs receive, but the place is in desperate need of a deep cleaning!!!!!

I've been a member of this pet wellness clinic for 2 years. Mostly due to location near Broadripple and seemingly caring individuals. My impression has changed over the last two months. My GSD had acquired what was originally diagnosed and treated as "kennel cough" 2 months ago. Since then; we've done 4 rounds of antibiotics, 3 of steroids, 2 chest X-rays and a single culture. It's cost me close to $2,000 and my dog time. I'm now told she's beyond their expertise and am being referred to Purdue. I've voiced concerns multiple times; especially when visiting again and again or when being charged two separate times $300+ for a chest X-ray. When asking why they charge human fees to only have the veterinarian read the X-ray the receptionist/tech said "they're the same organs," comparing humans to dogs. You can't compare a 8 year post high school education of a veterinarian working on small animals to a 13 year board certified radiologist or 12 year board certified PCP working on humans and children and bill the same morally in my opinion. Furthermore; there's no reason to pay the same for less experience. The receptionist/techs tone and seemingly lack of empathy made me decide to request leave their service. She told me I need to pay $199 to cancel a contract. I've already paid close to $2,000 on top of $39.99 monthly and now am told she's beyond their expertise and needs to be seen at Purdue. She'll now receive a CT and be Bronched which will cost an additional $3000-$3600. The money is aspect is horrible; but my actual fear is their lack of aggressive treatment will cost my dog dearly and she'll now have chronic lung issues or worse. Maybe the younger staff is simply less aggressive; but it shouldn't take 4 times before admitting it's beyond your expertise. If you value your pets wellbeing I'd put my trust elsewhere in the Indianapolis Area. I certainly wish I did. Followup: Purdue figured out the problem. The whole thing was close to $5,000. We recently moved to Indianapolis and were going to need to find a new vet for our dog, Larkin. He wasn't quite due for for his annual visit, but when he started showing signs of discomfort and an ear infection, Binford Pet Wellness was able to get us a same day appointment. Our vet tech/nurse Aubrey was the sweetest and so personable- a great communicator and educator in reviewing expected costs and well as our instructions prior to leaving. Dr. Graves was very nice and personable, sweet with Larkin and did a thorough assessment. Aubrey and Hilary who was our cashier both ensured any questions we had were addressed. After using Binford for multiple wellness visits and a surgery for one of our Doodles we will never be using them again after the terrible interaction I had with them today. I took our 8 month old Bernedoodle in for a routine Spay with the assumption that it would only cost about $400-500 based on the website pricing they listed (which is already incredibly overpriced). Upon arrival the vet tech handed me a quote that was between $720-850. Looking at the quote they had listed a $160 charge for some ridiculous "membership", $20 for microchipping (which we have already had done), $40 for a cone and another $20 for a onesie (we don't need both), and another $200-ish dollars in vaccines. I kindly explained that our Bernedoodle was vaccinated and gave the tech the paperwork but she began to take issue with the fact we self-vaccinate (Which was vet recommended to reduce stress on our dogs and I'm trained). Upon taking issue with the vaccination record she left the office to ask the office manager presumably how to handle the situation and stepped on my dogs paw and instead of petting her and apologizing, she said "You'll be fine" and continued to walk on by her. After returning she explained to me that I would either need to accept the quote for $720-850 and the full round of vaccinations today or they would not spay our bernedoodle. The entire interaction was incredibly unprofessional and borderline scammy. Ironically, we literally had taken our other golden doodle to this very same office on Tuesday this week and shown the EXACT same vaccination records he has that are done by me and no issue was brought up but because I wasn't willing to spend $800 with them today there was an issue. Don't take your business to this vet. They will scam you out of money you don't need to spend. read more

My beloved dog was euthanized Friday by Lap of Love. I regret more than words can say that none of the vets at your clinic ran a simple blood diagnostic panel to identify his illness. Once I went to Animal Allergy and he received appropriate care, his last month was so much better than the torture your staff had him endure... never ending clinic visits, constant medication changes with almost no pain and discomfort relief, a rotating roster of vets with no continuity of care. I absolutely LOVE this clinic, wish I'd found them a long time ago. I take my grand dog Roscoe and his mom Princess and they always receive amazing treatment. There have been times when we needed a last minute appointment and they will always help us get something that will work. I LOVE the way they put the pet's names on the white board at the entrance makes me feel special. I enjoy the complimentary beverages that they offer and the ease of checking out when we're finished. I recently found out, or more like was reminded, about their online clinic. I had an issue getting Princess' meds online (had to mail in rx) after i found out Costco didn't carry it. When I responded to a text following up about Princess' recent visit, I received a call from the clinic, not only reminding me of the online med option BUT she sent an email with the item in my cart, I just had to check out!!!! I just finished my one-year "membership" with the Pet Wellness Clinics and am beyond happy to be done. Don't be duped into buying their "membership" - it's a scam. Sure, it covers the basics but, for one, they keep the rebate for the flea/tick meds instead of passing it along to you. That's about $30-40/year per pet. Sleazy. And even with the "free" visits every issue your pet has will set you back at least $200-300 dollars. I feel taken advantage of every time I use their price gouging services. I have lived in bigger, more expensive cities and consistently gotten better, less expensive vet care. Staff is nice enough but my belief that they're putting profit before care means I would never ever go back, not even if my pet's life *literally* depended on it. read more

I took my 7 year old golden retriever here today for a wellness visit and get up to date on shots. We've been trying to find a new vet that we can call home for quite some time now. We've had some good experiences at places in the past and some awful ones. Our neighbors said they take their dogs here and raved over them so we thought we should check it out. I requested an appointment on their website and set everything up online! I filled out all his forms and everything ahead of time so that we just walked right in today. It was such a smooth process. Once we pulled up they had this board out front that said Welcome and listed all the pets' names that would be coming in today. (it's the little things!) The place was super clean and organized and had COVID guidelines in place which I very much appreciated. The room we were in was super spacious which I loved not being so crammed with my 90 pound golden retriever. The tech that we had, Emma, was amazing! She knew her stuff. She went over pricing for absolutely everything. She walked me through what each shot meant and what it was for. Once she took him back to get some of his tests ran she brought him back with a cute bandana and he was so happy vs so scared like he normally is! I loved that he seemed comfortable and happy the entire visit. All the staff loved him and called him by his name. We felt extremely welcomed the entire time and everyone was extremely friendly. While the vet gave him his shots the tech had 2 cups of whipped cream she was feeding him and he didn't yelp/bark/cry once!!!! In the past he's a nervous wreck and it's a stressful situation. Not this time! They have a membership that we signed up for that's only $39.95 a month and it includes: Unlimited exams and rechecks, unlimited tech visits, ALL vaccinations, 1 ProHeart 12 injection to prevent Heartworm, 12 Months of Simparica to prevent fleas and ticks, 2 Pyrantel Dewormers, annual heartworm test, discounted early detection profile blood screening, and discounted dental cleaning, neuter/spay procedures! I had to pay the annual fee of $99.95 but then in a couple weeks they will send a rebate of $55 on a card that we can use for anything on next visits. I also love that they have their own portal on their website and app that I can login to at any time and look up his visits/charts/schedule an appointment, etc. You can even upload pictures to it if you have something you want the vet to review. We just wanted to share one of our many stories from this vet. Hope this helps someone. From my Husband: Sorry this is a long read but the details are very important. We have a 3 yo pitbull. On Tuesday March 31 she vomited twice during the day and she wouldn't really eat or drink. Late Tuesday night she vomited multiple times. That night she vomited a chunk of black rubber Kong bone. She stopped vomiting shortly after that. Anybody with a Pitbull knows there is no indestructible dog toy. We constantly replace her toys as she starts to tear them up. The Kong bone is her favorite toy and has been replaced many times. Her current Kong bone is in perfect condition. She must have bit that chunk off the previous Kong bone well before Christmas because she got the current Kong bone for Christmas. First thing April 1 at 9am, we took her to Binford Pet Wellness Clinic on 71st street. With this chunk of rubber being in her for months I was concerned what else could be in there. She received an X-ray. Which showed NO MORE FOREIGN OBJECTS and I was relieved. Then the vet at Binford Pet Wellness Clinic said her intestine looked "fishy" and she proceeded to tell me my dog needed a $2600 Exploratory surgery. As a healthcare provider, I know x-rays aren't used to diagnose issues with soft tissues such as small intestines (because they can't really be seen). A CT scan would be needed for that. At this point I told the vet and tech that I would need to get a second opinion. Then they started trying to apply high pressure sales tactics. They told me my dog could be in serious danger. And if I didn't do the emergency surgery right now, I could be faced with increase fees later in the day. I paid over $400 for an x-ray, a shot for nausea, and a bag of iv fluids (IV fluids aren't expensive, I know this because I'm an IV pharmacist). We immediately made an appointment at Fishers Veterinary Hospital at 11:40am and took all X-rays and estimates with us. From the beginning this was a completely different experience. Fishers Veterinary Hospital had extensive Covid19 drop off procedures (a fully garbed tech brought all animals in and out the building and cleaned the door handle every time. The public was not allowed inside.) Binford Pet Wellness Clinic had no Covid19 procedures or precautions to speak of. A couple hours later the vet from Fishers Veterinary Hospital called and said you dog is playing and eating treats, you can pick her up. The vet went on to say. Exploratory surgery is not the first move that should be taken. He said the X-ray showed no foreign objects and that a vet is not qualified to make the assumptions the first vet made from the X-ray. He said to feed dog as normal and if she passes stool, she can't have a GI obstruction. She pooped late that night. She's been playing and eating completely normal for a week now. The second vet had access to all our paperwork form Binford Pet Wellness Clinic. He could easily went along with the claims they made, but instead he was honest and my dog didn't receive an intrusive, expensive and unnecessary surgery. Fortunately because of my healthcare background, I sought a second opinion. But I could see how someone worrying about their pet could be scammed into paying $2600 for no reason. Who knows how many people have paid them for unnecessary and dangerous procedures. We will never go to Binford Pet Wellnes Clinic ever again. We will be using Fishers Veterinary Hospital. Been here a few times for routine work but the most recent time is what makes them the best vet I've ever had! I've lived with dogs, cats and other small animals for over 20years. My 6 year old dog got a teeth cleaning and they were extremely thoughtful for the whole education process. The clinic staff did their routine follow-up phone call two days later (which is a fantastic customer service practice) The same staff sent my dog a "get well card." They also sent me home with a few free cans of food for my cat because she was underweight & needed a high calorie food to put on weight. I raised the money for my cat's surgery but unfortunately she passed away the day before the surgery. When I called to cancel, the woman on the phone was very kind & understanding. They also sent me a condolences card signed by everyone, which really made my day. The only thing I don't like about the vet is that they don't do payment plans. We rushed in the clinic 20 minutes later and they had already prepared as much of the paperwork for us to streamline the process. The clinic is clean, quiet, and well maintained. Absolutely everyone, from the receptionists to the doctors, were personable and genuine. They laid out prices for us before they started any procedures. While all unanticipated vet bills can be a pain, I felt that the prices were fair. They offer dog and cat memberships that include all vaccinations, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, unlimited exams and rechecks for $30 monthly for cats with an annual $50 fee and $40 monthly for dogs with an annual $100 fee. read more

I have had cats all my life and seen many vets, but this establishment has been one of the best. I took my kitty Henry in for a routine check up and immediately felt like he was a priority. The staff gave me a call to confirm his appointment and continued to check in through texts. There was a sign posted outside the front doors with the names of all the furry friends that were planning on visiting that day and I felt very welcomed when I saw Henry's name. We called to get a refill on his ear drops and they won't do it without a visit. It's the same problem he is always seen for, same medicine. Feels like it's all about the money with them. I took our new fur baby here Thursday morning for her first veterinary visit. The staff was great with her! I wasn't sure what my dog would think about it all as she was a stray a family member had found, but she loved all the petting and attention. There was such a calm atmosphere about this place too and that helped set me at ease. The exam was extremely quick and thorough. Dr. Darden and the technician (I wish I could remember her name) were great at explaining the tests and different vaccinations and preventative options available to me. They were also very upfront about all costs so that there were no surprises when it came time to pay the bill before leaving. Rosie left with a clean bill of health, all of her vaccines, a flea/tick preventative, and heartworm preventative all for a reasonable price. She was a happy girl and I was a happy dog mom! I've been taking my pets here for a little over a year. They always receive excellent care at BPW. The staff are extremely welcoming and kind, and Dr. Darden is knowledgeable and professional. As mentioned in other reviews, prices are reasonable and charges and procedures are always explained up front so you know what to expect. Recently while visiting from out of town my parents' dachshund fell ill. We found out she had a series of cancerous tumors in her chest and did the hardest - and most humane - thing we've ever had to do: we had her put to sleep. Dr. Darden and the BPW staff were so careful with her and so comforting to me on that difficult day. They even had a bouquet of flowers sent to us in sympathy. A sad turn to this review, but all of that is to emphasize how compassionate the skilled professionals at BPW are. I hope with all my heart I never have to make another difficult visit there again, but because of the staff's kindness and support, I will keep bringing my beloved animals here for all their care needs. read more

My dog Brooklyn (pit bull/boxer) has seen plenty of clinics throughout her long life of 11 years old so far surviving a car accident and beating cancer. along the way we have had plenty of unpleasant and unprofessional experiences with vets. I brought brooklyn into this clinic in an emergency when some flea meds I believed to be causing a reaction warranted a vet visit. upon arrival I was met by vet - Kelley veneskey . she had some worrying speculations on what she believed it was and insisted we do some proper testing right away. I agreed to the testing and when the results came back that my dog had a very progressed and serious closed pyometra that immediate surgery or putting her to sleep were my only options veneskey made it a clear point that she cared for my dog very much and believed although the surgery was a bit risky for her age that it was the better decision. handing ur dog off to someone to perform a surgery on them is a very scary and nerve wrecking experience especially when there is a chance your dog won't survive it. Veterinarian Kelley veneskey and the entire binford wellness clinic staff went above and beyond with how they handled my dog how they handled the surgery and how they handled explaining to me the situation and keeping me informed along the way. no words will describe how thankful I am to have had the chance to trust such caring people in helping brooklyn and I when we needed it most. This would be a 5-star review for vets, staff, and services who give great, thorough care--except to one thing: Pet Wellness hooked up with Covetrus online prescription services, with which there are multiple problems for consumers and therefore for their pets. The online Covetrus service, which is pretty much what you have to use, uses flawed Capterra software, with which there are known problems for consumers like me. . . . I'm a senior citizen with disabilities on a fixed income who has multiple rescue dogs on many prescriptions. The Website's difficult to use if you're changing an automatic fill date and if you've many prescriptions for many pets. You're likely to get a med both on the new date you chose and the original date--and you get charged twice. It's happened to me on three occasions, and one of the meds was over $200/refill. Their price hikes are sudden and unreasonable. I thought Amazon subscriptions was awful to use in these ways--they're a piece of cake compared to Covetrus. . . . Think you can bypass the online Covetrus problems by calling them? Prepare to wait interminably or be dealt with summarily, possibly rudely. . . . Whoever's in charge here, change this service to meet the quality and concern of Pet Wellness Centers in general! read more

Up all night with my sick puppy, Jazzie, and was able to get in Saturday morning. Dr. Darden was wonderful with her. Jazzie was excited to see Courtney B! After a shot and some meds, she is doing much better after one day. They were so kind to me when I had to say goodbye to my last doggie. Everyone is always so nice - I highly recommend this facility for all your pets. read more
