Dr. Stevick is the kindest, most caring vet and person!! She takes time to listen to all concerns, and is so sweet and supportive. Ralphie the cat loved her and she figured out why he was limping and thoroughly explained it to me and showed me on the x-rays. It means so much to me that she had so much patience and kindness during the entire visit. She's a wonderful human, and I could not be more grateful for her! I'm not really sure how to write this review, to be honest. I had taken my pup, Bentley, to Broad Ripple Animal Clinic when I first moved to Indy 9 years ago and then recently switched back to them. Unfortunately, he was only seen a couple of times before we had to make the heartbreaking decision to end his suffering. I had never gone through the process and I was so moved by how intentional the staff was, specifically Dr Cruse. She walked us through the process and gave us ample time to say our goodbyes. Today, a couple of weeks after losing our sweet Bentley, I receive a package in the mail that brought me to tears. A note from Dr Cruse and a keepsake with Bentley's paw print and name. Maybe I missed that this would be sent because I was overwhelmed with emotion and information in the moment, but I really don't recall. This was such a sweet gesture and I'm so thankful to have it. If we ever decide to open our home to a dog again, we will be clients for life. read more

This place is by far the best place I have ever been for vet care. The staff are always professional and kind. You can tell they really love what they do because we always feel welcome when we come in and give such love to our pups. We normally see Dr. Neuman and he has an amazing bedside manner. I know he is busy but he always takes the time to listen to our questions/concerns and never makes the appointment feel rushed. Our dogs are nervous at the vet but seem to calm a bit when he starts talking to them. The office offers a super convenient health payment plan that covers their semi-annual visits and nearly everything that comes with them. The price is reasonable and varies on the age of your dog. One of our dogs is seen by BRCA and we've (sadly) had two put to sleep at BRCA, and a third cremated after a sudden and unexpected passing. Overall, the staff is professional and kind. The space is clean. The prices are fair. I'd recommend BRCA based on that. The rest of this review is mostly a rave review for Dr. Neumann, who we've never encountered a vet like. The dog we take to see Dr. Neumann is deaf and has a lot of inexplicable anxieties, one of which is going to the vet. He's failed several vets as extremely reactive, but Dr. Neumann (and a perfect cocktail of sedatives and a muzzle) was incredible with him, learning how to work with our dog and get him appropriately checked and treated. We have sadly had three pet deaths involve BRCA. Every single encounter has been handled with the utmost professionalism and respect. We recently had to say goodbye to our adored shihpoo, and happenstanced to receive Dr. Neumann's care. On an impossibly hard day, he was kind, and so thoughtful of space while somehow also being attentive to us. He held the best possible space during a very hard time. I am a travel nurse here in Indy over 700 miles from home. 6 weeks ago my 11 year old Grace became lethargic and was not eating well. I took her to a local 24 hr animal hospital three times and was charged a ridiculous amount of money each time but never given any real answers. Fast forward 4 weeks, I brought her to BRAC. When I called to make her appointment, Amy was patient and kind while I asked her what probably felt like 20 questions. When I brought Grace in, James did her intake getting her history then Dr. Cruse came in. She was AMAZING! She ordered all the tests and I paid less than the cost of fewer tests with the first vet. She was genuinely caring, kind, and compassionate while expressing concern for my Grace. I can't think of enough adjectives to describe how wonderful she was. The X-rays showed my girl had metastatic lung cancer. The cancer had spread and was fast growing. I took her home for our last night of snuggles and love, then brought her in the next day for our last goodbye. When we walked in, we were met in the lobby and brought straight back into a room. There was a pink heart post-it with Grace's name on the door. They provided a blanket for her to lay on, bottled water, and ALL the Kleenex. Darice was her nurse and she was a God send. She made sure we were comfortable, went through the process of what was to come step by step, and checked on us often. She was my rock through the entire process. Grace was given peanut butter and cheese whiz, and Darice and the vet loved on her. For being an awful situation, these ladies made this a peaceful experience and I'm truly grateful for them. I was gifted a paw print keepsake and a sweet card from Dr. Cruse when I picked up my girl's ashes. Darice was there and gave me the biggest hug. The staff at BRAC are unbelievably compassionate and kind, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience and support in an already sad time, being here in Indy away from family. read more

I own two cats. They're my pride and pains in my life. It's been really important to keep them in good health especially after moving up to Indy. So I did a quick google search which led me to here. They've got my favorite thing: an ability to schedule an appointment without calling. It ended up being really easy to get an appointment. My older cat went in first then my younger one. Also, they've got curbside service so if you're a little wary of seeing and being around people (a panini can do that to just about anyone) they've got it. Dr. Cruse is my vet. She's amazing! Listened to my health concerns about my older kitty. We got her heart checked out, her teeth cleaned and her shots up to date. Listened to my dieting her woes and gave some really helpful vet advice on how to keep those teeths in good shape. My younger kitty was also well taken care of and given all of her shots and flea meds. She's usually easier than my older one. However, I unfortunately had to come in for some spur of the moment services due to her taking recreational poisons and peer pressuring my older one to join. I worked with a different vet that time and he was really helpful. They only have a few spots if bad things happen for existing clients (have your pets plan their medical emergencies early in the day! JK tell them not to do that). They do take good care of them. Plus there's a line to call of you are worried about them. Ended up being a two for one deal as the younger one had already pulled a stunt like this a couple days earlier. Overall, they're a fantastic vet. All the technicians are nice and my cats have been well taken care of. It is a little hidden off of Westfield so don't be surprised if you accidentally miss it. Would recommend BRAC over and over again, cannot emphasize that enough! I so wish we would have found BRAC when we first got our dog. She had a relatively traumatic experience at a different vet clinic in the Indianapolis area which led us to look for a new vet for her. We ended up at Broad Ripple Animal Clinic. I could not be more grateful for how they have handled our vet anxious pup. She no longer needs anti-anxiety meds when going to the vet and she loves every person she meets in the clinic. I love how they handle each dog with such grace. They got to know her and what techniques are best for handling her for vaccines and blood work (ie. she is very food motivated and hates being restrained). They don't try to lump every dog into the same box. They understand each dog is different and has different needs which I love! This is also the first vet clinic I have been to where you can tell that everyone is passionate about what they do and truly wants to hear the owners concerns. They don't make you feel dumb for asking questions, and they actually educate you on problems your dog is facing by providing literature and a question/answer session during your visit. We have had issues with our dogs allergies, paws, a sudden flu and the list goes on and on. If we need to get her in, just by calling, we can usually get her in that day. My questions are always answered and I always have the feeling that my dog got exactly what she needed! Also, I never feel pressured by anyone to buy into a certain product or treatment plan. They give a good list of options that are fair for multiple price points. You'll sometimes They are currently doing in person and curbside service. I so wish we would have made the switch over to Broad Ripple Animal Clinic and Dr. Cruse sooner! We've now been here for almost 2 years and couldn't be happier. read more

I have been bringing my pets to BRAC for over a decade. It was the closest to my house in Broad Ripple but even though I am in Fishers now I still come to them because of the service I have received there. My oldest (female cat - 13 years) has been coming here since she was 1 year old. She has gotten declawed here, and since she has been healthy her whole life has not had to do anything else except for shots and check-ups. They are great with her. My other cat who I only had for a few years had kidney falure that deteriorated so fast that by the time I brought her in she only had days to live. The staff was very kind to me when I had to have her put down the same day I brought her in to see what was wrong. The sent me a card and called to check in on me after. My little boy German Shepherd comes here also. He has been a puzzle since the beginning and probably the only reason why I haven't given then 5 stars is because of his diagnosis. They wanted to run lots of very expensive tests instead of basic research and trial and error which I did personally to find out he had pancreatic enzyme deficiency. if I had gone down the list they recommended it would have cost me thousands of dollars. So I do love the staff and vets at BRIC, They are very professional and take care of their clients but they can be very expensive. Just putting it out there. read more

I felt immediately at ease, fast forward to 2020, Bentley is still coming to this location for all of his checkups, annuals, illnesses and other needs that arise. Katlyn Barr,DVM is Bentley's vet and he LOVES her! She genuinely cares for animals, is thorough in her examinations and definitely goes the extra mile for her furry patients. Bentley also has another issue which requires a reoccurring visit every 3 weeks(occasionally earlier) and for this any vet technician can assist and everyone is always amazing with him! Bentley is my first pet, I definitely took him a few times for reasons I thought were "emergencies" only to find out everything was completely normal Hahaa! They never made me feel ridiculous and have always encouraged me to bring him in, call or email with any pictures of concerns... I was very nervous about switching vets for my two senior cats after having the same vet for many years on the North Side (who is also great!). We have had an amazing experience getting to know the staff there, and they've gone above and beyond in accommodating my oldest, Hermione, who is quite literally a cat terrorist. Dr. Neumann is incredible and takes the time and energy to get to know us and the girls. I feel really comfortable and confident in their care as my girls start into their sunset years. Keep in mind: it's not going to be the least expensive care you can find in the city, but the exquisite staff and expertise are well worth the investment. read more

I would not recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone. My first visit here was okay (hence the two stars) and I will say, the doctors are amazing (shout out Dr. Cruse and Dr. Lithio!!!) but today was my second visit here with my almost 5 month old pup and it was a terrible experience. To begin, I had called two days in advance to get a quote on the pricing for this specific appointment. I only called because the last appointment ran just shy of $300 for some vaccines. The woman I spoke to two days ago told me he just needed a few boosters and would start Lyme vaccines, so roughly $90. After my dog came out they called me (still curbside service) and they said it would be $290!!? There were charges that I never consented to such as a stool sample (which I knew I did not need because I had done it a couple weeks back) and a blood test which I also never consented to. When I brought my dog today I was also told on the phone that his records were "messed up" and they basically had no idea what he needed/administered to him on the previous visit. I brought this up with Dr. Cruse and she told me that Allison (the woman helping me) was new and did not know how to use words or phrase things, then assured me they did not lose any of my dogs records. I felt relieved after this as I waited in my car for him to come out, go through the check out process, etc. Allison brings my dog out and just hands me a bag with a topological medicine. I had no idea that I was bringing any medicine home with my dog. This bag nor the medicine had no additional instructions or dosage amounts so I had to call the clinic again. A nice woman answered and she apologized a ton, obviously not her fault, and told me how to use it. I then received my "report" from my dogs visit via email and they never even included his weight. DO NOT GO HERE. Doctors are nice but staff is horrible with organization and keeping clients happy. I do not trust them nor would I recommend them. No way to tell that they are even saving records of our pets' visits :/ read more

A few days ago, my 12 year old shih-tzu started acting lethargic and sickly. We don't have a regular vet, but his symptoms were getting worse, so we took him to BRAC because it was close and open. They were able to fit us in for an appointment, and although we were not allowed to go in, we were treated as if we had been going there for years. Dr. Rice and Tory were so sweet with our baby, and gave us lots of options and choice for treatment. He came out looking perkier than ever, and actually seemed to enjoy his vet experience (incredible)! We plan to make this vet our regular location. Thank you so much BRAC! read more

We went to another local vet who charged a lot of money for an initial appointment, yet did not check Reina at all! Literally said they didn't want her to have a negative association with them so they wouldn't even cut her nails. We could not be more thankful to have found the caring individuals at this clinic. During a time of uncertainty, they still conducted an initial appointment by coming to my car and taking Reina inside. Dr. Rice then called and went through everything she was seeing and asked if I had any questions. It was a very thorough appointment and afterwards, a detailed report was emailed to me. In the past few months a series of events have happened most of which were unfortunate. My very first visit, I was told to wait a day or two after shots to give heartworn medication (no meds were sent home, and I then found out they decided to give it to her in clinic). Since then we've had to go back with other health issue (not related to heart worm prevention) I have not felt heard or taken seriously. I've seen 3 different vets at this clinic due to already being so much money in, there was blood work and radiographs done which resulted in comments like "nothing I'm too worried about", or "this is pretty normal in puppies", and "try to wait and see what else goes wrong" all from Dr. Sponsler. A week later Another round of blood work, radiographs, liver enzyme testing and an ultrasound, we still have no concrete answers. Not to mention they had to shave Nessie's stomach to do the ultrasound, she now she has cuts and rashes...this has equaled about $3500-4000. But don't worry, a "complimentary nail clipping" was provided...The help at the front desk is a mess too, from being blamed for Nessie's condition by Tracy, spilt medication that I've paid for, being walked out without paying, giving me feline food instead of canine, and telling me the ultrasound I've been waiting for is not even on their schedule. For the amount of money this place charges this is the worst care I've ever seen. So much additional stress was added to an already increased and stressful situation. However Dr Rice has been the most helpful with actually taking me and Nessie seriously. The rest telling me how cute and sweet Nessie is or how much attention she's gotten here is not making ANYTHING better. Do better BRAC. read more

Recently had an incident where an abnormality on my (almost) 14 yo dog was missed entirely, despite it being in very close proximity to the issue he was seen for. Within less than one week, I had two completely different diagnoses and a referral to a neurologist for an MRI. While BRAC staff is friendly and the clinic is very nice, I do not trust their vets any longer. When you pay to have a sick pet seen, you expect the underlying issue to be discovered and accurately diagnosed. It was missed (twice) and afterward all I received were excuses. Try Dr. Carter in Carmel, IN instead. He is a straight shooter who won't refer you to a neurologist to have a 14 yo dog examined at thousands of dollars for an MRI. read more

I haven't actually been to the clinic, but the woman who answered the phone (Tracy) was incredibly helpful and sweet. I am new to the area and needed a new groomer. She went out of her way to email me a list of groomers she recommended, as this clinic does not offer grooming services. Things like this should be noted because it certainly does not happen every day - especially given the fact that I am not a current customer of their clinic. Dr. Grace Lithio and her staff are some of the kindest and most understanding folks working in healthcare. I wish more nurses, receptionists and doctors working in human healthcare were as thoughtful and empathetic as the people in this office. Our 7 y/o Boston Terrier suffered a major spinal injury that, because of his body type, left him immobile and in pain. Dr. Lithio showed sincere concern for him, as well as our family. The staff even brought juice to our room while we waited for our referral to a canine neurologist. Unfortunately, the cost of spinal surgery was out of our price range, so we opted out. Instead, we continued to see Dr. Lithio, who understood the choice we made and vowed to do everything she could for our pup. We saw great progress using laser treatments, and Dr. Lithio kept in touch with us, returning our phone calls quickly and always willing to help. In the end, our little dog suffered another unavoidable injury that he could not recover from. He passed at home, and the next morning we brought him to Broad Ripple Animal Clinic, where they were so so kind and supportive of us during our time of grief. Dr. Lithio called us at home when she heard the news. They even sent us a card in the mail. The cremation service was sentimental and loving, returning his ashes in a beautiful little box with a clay impression of his footprint. Losing a beloved pet is difficult, but having the support and acknowledgment this clinic offered to our family made it much easier to heal from. read more

I definitely prefer animal clinics to hospitals. And, I most definitely prefer taking our puppy to his first appointment rather than picking up a baby from an incubator / pod room at hospital. Dogs aren't humans, but... BUT! Dogs seem like they really thrive in loving, caring, clean, organized enviros -- so this clinic is spot on! I remember the Vet we took our dog to as a kid, and it was smelly, dark, dingy and cold -- and the dogs just weren't down. Here though, at BRAC, dogs are down for the get down, stay down because they know this place is on the up & up! Our first visit was a meet & greet & check vaccines & such, a very chill first visit! They were super personable with our puppy, which is a great first step in getting him to be cozy for visits when eventually he eats a pair of socks or a box of business cards. We signed up for the Responsible Pet Partnership classes, too. And, that includes neutering when the pup's ready. For first time puppy owners, the RPP classes are essential. I mean, we've done some serious research & studying on our pup, and how to train -- crate & house break -- but having a one on one session with a pro trainer at BRAC was amazing -- and this is only our first visit! Proof is in results, and with there guidance, the 3 month old puppy is right on his way to being fully housebroken & crate trained! I'll probably write numerous updates as the visits carry on. So far... real swell... really swell. read more

BRAC is great. When I first got my cat, he was extremely sick, and they got him in the next day even thought he was a new patient. The staff is wonderful, you can tell they really love all animals. I've never had to wait long to get an appointment or have someone acknowledge me. The building is immaculately clean, and they will give you a tour if you ask them. Not only do they provide vaccinations and spay/neuter, but they have an on-site dentist area and pharmacy, along with offering free nail trims with every visit. This place is not cheap. I paid over $230 for a cat neuter. But the quality is so high, I wouldn't trust my cat with anyone else. Yes, I could have taken him to FACE, but these peple are PROFESSIONALS, and not someone who dropped out of vet school & volunteers. He recovered so quickly, and was back to normal after anaethesia in record time. They also send you email updates with pet tips and reminders! Just be careful about extras that they want to add to your bill. Do not be fooled into buying their product line of food. read more

My cat, Boo Radley, is my emotional support animal (prescribed by a psychiatrist) and assists me with my anxiety and panic attacks. I adopted him from a shelter almost 3 years ago now and Broad Ripple Animal Clinic (BRAC) has saved my sanity and helped him out tremendously so many times. He has suffered from giardia, upper respiratory infections, a bacterial skin infection, an ear infection, and an eye infection in the past 3 years and whenever he gets sick, I call BRAC and they get him in almost immediately. As someone who relies on him to actually live my life, I can't imagine what I'd do without him. Thanks to BRAC, I don't have to. They answer my numerous questions, always call to follow up on Boo, and genuinely care about both the pet and owner. I'm so thankful to have found such a great place to take Boo for everything from annual check ups to upper respiratory infections. In my opinion, inflated veterinary fees at BRAC, seem to fund apple computers, iPads, a Keurig coffee machine in the lobby and free bottled water - verses top care for your beloved family pet. It seems like you are paying for glitz, style over substance. It seems like you're not really paying for the care but more so for the presentation and it feels like they're about managing an illness verses making pet well in favor of higher profits. I felt my emotions and affection for my pet were exploited as a commodity with suggested tests, treatments and other up charges - presented in a pushy, "salesy"way. Meanwhile, I feel my pet was misdiagnosed and I had to go to another vet to get a correct diagnosis and treatment. A different vet walked into the exam room, without even talking to us first and said, "Looks like we have a Cushings dog here..." A simple urine test confirmed what he knew just by looking at our dog for less than 90 seconds. However, in the end, the treatment was too late and our precious dog passed away. I feel that saying I hate BRAC is not a strong enough of a sentiment. read more

First visit was okay not necessarily a thorough check she just rubbed her hands around my cat while looking and talking to me and petting my cat I didn't see a clear check of the mouth. When I first made the appt I was never informed about the amount changing from when I first called and asked so when they gave me a total before getting anything done then I get there and it's in the Hundreds I was shocked so I stopped services that weren't needed before It was done ! Now trying to do a second visit for the rest of shots and I called Monday spoke to a young man I stated I now had to go to work he said if I called early they'd let me go to curb side and get it done before my appointment time and assured it was same price Now Tuesday I am calling after being put on hold by a nice young lady an older woman answers with a tone and I ask if there's any availability or way I can fit in early she states I'll be charged an extra $20 and that she'd first have to clear it with someone else so for the moment there was no chance... not sure if I like the miscommunication between workers or if they just say whatever they want to say with no work structure. read more

Just started going to them and there certainly is potential for a five-star review after more visits - just don't have enough to base it on yet. However, I had to bring two pet there last minute during the COVID-19 crisis. It was easy to get them there and in for their visit. Further, they have most of the capabilities for lab work, X-rays and even ultrasounds. That alone saves valuable time in treatment for loved animals. Very happy I found them. Further, their providers all graduated from the top veterinary programs, which alone speaks for itself. read more

THEY HAVE SAVED MY DOGS LIFE TWICE!! I've had 2 experiences with the Broad Ripple Animal Clinic. The first time was for a routine nail clipping, there was a routine rabies vaccination needed as is the case for everywhere in the city. It turned out my dog has a life threatening reaction to that vaccine, She became very sick, very quickly, while we were still in the office. They kept her there overnight without charge. My next experience with them was very recent. My dog, Kali, kept peeing in the house over last weekend, I thought something was wrong, then come Monday she was peeing blood. I called BRAC immediately around 2:30, they were able to see her later that day at 5:30. They did a urinalysis that showed she had a UTI, the vet, Dr. Lissio recommended an X-ray as well because of possible bladder stones, we didn't do it and a antibiotic was prescribed for the infection. Kali seemed to be getting better over the next 2 days. Then Thursday, Kali wasn't urinating at all when she squated. Dr Lissio had called to check up on her earlier in the day. I eventually emailed her to give her an update on what was happening, even though it definitely wasn't in my budget. I called and was able to get X rays that day. The x rays showed what I feared, Kali had multiple stones and one lodged in her Urethra. The surgery was quoted at 3500, there was no way I was gonna be able to afford that. They even called to all the emergency hospitals in the area to get quotes but all of which were even more. I was able to see my pup again and tell her goodbye because I had let them know, I didn't want her to suffer and I couldn't afford the surgery so I was gonna have to have her euthanized. We went over the options, I chose one, balling the entire time. They took Kali away to get the IV in so they could bring her back to put her to sleep with me. During that time, the staff talked and the doctor came back to let me know they'd empty her bladder free of charge so I could have more time to possibly find a cheaper surgery. Of course, I did that, if not for anything just to be able to spend one more night with my beloved pup. After leaving BRAC, the rest of my family rallied together and were willing to help with the surgery. We checked out some other places, one of which didn't have any openings for a couple days. We couldn't wait a couple days, we then called BRAC early Friday morning, they got Kali in for surgery a couple hours later. They kept us posted the whole time, Dr. Lissio called when she got out of surgery, letting us know how it went and what to expect. Then she called the next morning letting me know Kali responded so well that she could come home later that day. Needless to say, the 2nd experience was a gut wrenching week. Oh, and the final bill from surgery ended up being about 1700 less then they quoted for worst case scenario. I CAN NOT THANK THEM ENOUGH!!! read more

We have moved out of the Broadripple area to Fishers, but we keep coming back to BRAC as we have been pleased with the care and feel so comfortable. Starting when you first walk in, BRAC is very cozy and clean. They have human and dog snacks available (soda/coffee vs. treats). This might be a bad dog-mom move, but I seem to be only taking Oliver to the vet when he has a problem. Fortunately, those seem to come at least frequently enough for him to get all his necessary check-ups and vaccinations. We have been to BRAC for a nuisance (itchy foot he wouldn't stop licking) and recently, a more emergent issue. After 2-days of a lethargic dog, we had an appointment at BRAC the next afternoon. We were so worried about his continually worsening state, we called the on-call tech (so nice to have this available), and she really talked me down, made me feel more comfortable for the night, and bumped my appointment up to first thing the next day. After Dr. Rice's assessment and treatment, Oliver is perking up daily and mostly back to his ornery self. I have to say, I was also very impressed and comforted by the tech who helped us this round, Misha. She spent extra time walking with us on the way out to try to get a urine sample and almost teared up seeing the pitiful state my little dude was in. It really showed how much the staff cares about your dog and their well being. Another positive- BRAC always lays out the cost with you point by point before they do anything, and they try to offer you varying packages if you want to forego some testing/treatment options if you're on a budget. read more

They have Covid precautions including information signs in parking lot, calling or texting you to check in, coming to get your pet, calling while doing exam, calling to check out.
