My overall experience with Groomingdales was great for my 3 pups. Heather was awesome and still is up to our last visit. However we were forced to move on. We received our confirmation text before our last appointment but needed to reschedule for 2 weeks due to a death in our family. When I texted to ask were we able to reschedule, as of today no one has responded. While wishing this business the best maybe it is for the best that my family of pups move on... Thankfully we were able to find another groomer this week that is a little more empathetic and accommodating. read more

Our normal groomer had an out break of Kennel cough. She notified us and said if we wanted to go elsewhere for a month she would understand. ( she has since added a blue light detection and other steps to verify if the cough comes in with a dog) Since we were leaving on a vacation and wanted Emmy to look good (not ill). We agreed. A number of years ago we used Groomingdales. They did an ok job so we took her there I don't know what they were thinking but they SHAVED her. My beautiful multipoo looked like a street dog. Anyone that saw her were as shocked as we were. You could see her pink skin where there was no hair The excuse, "You didn't tell us what you wanted". Is there a difference between saying a trim and shaving my dog? We said a trim. It has taken a month for me to be able to write this review. I was so disgusted and ashamed for Emmy I had to wait until she had hair again Middle picture is before, last picture after and first picture today. I will never subject Emmy to this treatment again. They butchered my two doodle dogs haircuts - and when asked by text and a picture if this image showing an uneven cut was "normal" I got no response. Jennifer does such an amazing job with our Scotties. They can be hard to "get right", and they have never looked better after leaving the salon! Grooming is quick, high quality and ran about $110 for two dogs. I am very happy with Groomingdales! I have found my fur-ever groomer! My only wish, for convenience when I am no longer working from home, is if they had a "drop off" and "pick up" window like some other local groomers. You drop your pups off at their appointment time and should be ready quickly to pick them up when finished. It works well now when working from home, but would be difficult in the future or for folks who can't be flexible with their schedules. Just a wish! read more

Moved from Zionsville to Glendale area. Was looking for a groomer of my Belgian Shepard (Looks like a big Black Collie). Looked thru Yelp to find a groomer in the area. Groomingdales was highly rated so I decided to give it a try. I called and they were very a comodating and had availabilities. They were friendly on the phone and helpful. Set an appointment time and sent over my proof of vaccinations. The place is in a small strip center that doesn't face 54th so it was a little hard to find. I walk in and was soon greeted by a young gal. My dog had a patch of hair shaved off his front paw where he had an IV in from an recent illness. He has pancreatic issues. They said they were concerned about bleeding again from the IV spot during grooming. At first they said I needed to reschedule but changed their mind and asked me to to sign a disclaimer. They were very busy in the grooming and wash area. They took my boy in and I went home and waited. Should I be worried about opening up a IV wound? A couple of hours later, I got a call that my dog was done and ready to go home. I arrived to pick him up. He looked marvelous. His undercoat was brushed out, his coat shined and he was in good spirits. We asked them to not use any unnecessary powders and/or scents. He smelled like a basic shampoo with no extra additives. My dog gets hot spots. I really appreciated that. I had read that there was a person there who was a little gruff. I think she was the No nonsense owner who I briefly spoke with. My geriactric pooch was handled with kit gloves, they followed my specific instructions, their pricing was competitive and they worked me in soon. That, in my opinion, is a home run. I strongly recommend them and will undoubtedly use them again. read more

I brought my bichon fries, and, without even touching him, the groomer said he had to be completely shaved and that "he was in pain". So,although I had brushed him, I let myself br bullied by this woman. I only hope that she is better with the dogs than she is with humans. She was rude, superior, and obnoxious. Long story short: I was charged $120 to have my dog shaved when a halfway competent groomer could have bathed him and brushed him out for less. Worst dog grooming experience of my life. read more

Started off very good by giving the appropriate bichon cut. A groomer left and so did the bichon cut. Bichons are supposed to have a very round head cut with the ears fading into the head cut. Was told they only so "pet cuts" now but still charge the high price. Last cut ended up with a triangle head cut and the ears way too long. Not going back. read more

Finally found a groomer that I love. Jennifer is who groomed our dog, and she did absolutely great. I have a cockapoo who gets matted so easily. My past groomer would literally tell me how much she didn't like my dogs hair and how I need to brush him more. That was not the case here. Groomingdales was phenomenal! My 2 year old golden doodle had not been groomed in nearly 2 months due to his old groomers all quitting and not being able to get in anywhere else. The time to get jim scheduled was quick and easy, Charles did an AMAZING job and I have never seen my dog's coat so clean! I took my Bernedoodle for a grooming , he's only 10 months old so I was nervous. He did so well, and looks absolutely adorable. The most important thing though, was the experience we had. Quality of work is still good - staff members are pleasant and (although don't necessarily get preferred cut right the first time, seem genuinely interested in doing a good job and making things right). New owner - HORRIBLE attitude. I simply asked her to cut my dog shorter than the previous visit... my goodness, apparently you don't question or make requests like that. MY WELL GROOMED YORKIE! I have been taking my Yorkshire Terrier to be groomed at Groomingdales for over a year. The facility is clean. The groomers are skilled. Candie always asks if I like how my dog looks. There is always ample opportunity to ask for something to be addressed. As a pawparent I am extremely picky about who grooms my dog. I have never had a single concern with leaving Crumb at Groomingdales. My dog has never come home with a sudden fear of chainsaws, so that's a plus ;). Nor has Crumb ever complained about his treatment, in fact he raves about it on his instagram page @yorkie_crumb. They did a great job with my new puppy. The guy who did the service was friendly and discussed the process with me when I dropped him off. HOWEVER, I took my older dog in about a month later. She's 13. Sweet old dog, but she's old. The two women who dealt with her were extremely rude and impatient. When I dropped her off, one of the women just took her by the leash and walked off telling me (over her shoulder) to come back in an hour and a half. This was her first time there, not a good introduction. When I picked her up and said what dog I was there for, the other woman said "oh good!" In a really rude way and then proceeded to tell me how much of a pain she was and that they wouldn't groom her again. The other woman (I think the owner) just smiled like it was funny that she was being rude. I reiterated that she's an old dog and this was a new place. They told me she didn't like the blow dryer in her face and that she got snappy. I'm not sure why you would need to blow dry the face of a black lab, but I wouldn't like that either. I absolutely will never be back. You'd think people who deal with animals for a living would be a little more compassionate and understanding. My dog has never snapped at anyone, she's just a sweet old lady. But I imagine having irritated strangers impatiently grooming her was a little scary. Did I mention they charged me an extra $20 on top of the $80 bath fee because she was difficult?? Take your dog to dog people! read more

We have found our new groomer! After our previous groomer retired, we were nervous about finding someone new for our rescue pup. She has had some negative experiences and doesn't always respond well to vets, groomers, etc. Candy was so kind on the phone when I booked the appointment. When my husband took our dog in today, he said she was calmer than she's ever been at the groomer. Candy gave her a great cut and she was a happy dog when my husband picked her up. I was in search of a new Grooming salon... I've been taking my Dogter to PetsMart for her whole life. But these days it's way too hard to get an appointment and i usually end up having to go back to have her haircut fixed after each time. I'm really selective of where i leave my baby, so i did my research, decided to contact Groomingdales, and wow, how happy i am!!
