Maybe I could understand if it was a ridiculously low offer. When an offer is at asking price or above with no major contingency it's just good practice to respond. What is the point of putting a deadline on a contract offer if no one feels the need to abide by the timeframe? Deciding to buy a home is such a big step for an individual. When an agency doesn't have the courtesy to call you and let you know any information it's incredibly disheartening. Had this been a one time experience maybe I could accept it easier but definitely not the case here.

They did their inspection and thankfully, I didn't have any problems. Well worth the $150 charge for that piece of mind, because I certainly wouldn't have bought the house if there was a mold issue.
