The largest wine, spirit, and beer superstore in the Midwest, Binny's Beverage Depot was founded in 1948 and has 46 locations in the US, all found in Illinois. I hadn't been to this location before, so tagged along inside when my brother had to buy beer for his in-laws in Texas. This time I focused my attention in the beer area, and it brought back memories of (cheap) beer very popular in the Chicagoland area, with names like Schlitz and Old Style. It's the Polish beer, Zywiec, that he bought 5 cases of....it's one that can be hard to find in Texas or California. Here in Chicagoland, every Binny's carries it. He managed to fit 4 full cases in his checked bags. I brought the remaining to my wife's aunt's home, where i discovered it's ABV was a hefty 5.6%. It tasted decent to me very cold, and at about a dollar a bottle, not a bad choice for one or two during a really hot day. read more

Best staff of all the Binny's. Might not be the biggest or best selection, but the staff is so personable and attentive.

My wife and I (43 and 46) stopped by just before close tonight. We were coming from pickleball and did not have our wallets. Cashier refused to sell to us without IDs. Mind you I have a full gray beard! No offer to look me up by phone number either. I have been a customer there for over 13 years and have spent thousands. They have absolutely everything and for everyone's pocket. From the cheapest drinks to the most fine ones. You can find some rare national drinks that can't be founded on the other places. Especially good if you're looking to buy a beverage as a gift. Nice packaging with great deals! They do require masks, but if you don't have it they will provide some for you. read more

I like beer. Therefore I like Binny's. Now, I've been spoiled by the Binny's in the city because they are huge, so chic & have taprooms with rare beers like Bourbon County. Yep, Binny's in the city is not just a shop but a full destination to hang out. Now, in terms of straight shops, this Binny's is cool. It'd be even cooler if it added a taproom like it's sister stores, but ya know...it gets the job done. They usually have some of the best prices on beer, often cheaper than you can even get it at the brewery proper. They have sales & they have their rewards program so it all comes together quite nicely. This location doesn't have the hugest selection but it surely has enough. You can check stock levels online before going in and if nothing else, give them a call. I've had super friendly service when checking on things, plus in the store the staff is always beyond helpful. read more

We are going to our friends house tomorrow and we are going to eat our dinner at their place as well as drinking some liquor after dinner. After we bought our groceries we went here to buy liquor to take tomorrow at our friends house and besides that we can choose more wine because they have different varieties of liquor with a local and international brand. They also have a cheaper price if you want to save money. We bought 5 bottles of liquor, 2 liquor is to drink and 3 is as presents to them. Two bottle of them is we got in a cheaper price.  When we are at the counter, the staff carefully put our liquor in a box to prevent it for breaking since it's fragile. So their customer service was excellent. So we highly recommend this store to those people who like drinking. You will love this store. read more

The staff there is just rude. I went to grab a box after spending $50 there and the cashier yelled at me that I can't go over there for social distancing. There was no one even near me or that section and I had a medical mask on and gloves. I told her I was just looking for a box, she said they aren't "giving" any out, ask the manager. So I did and he said he has too many orders to fulfill lately to give out boxes. How much did I have to spend to get a box. They had over 100 there. Overall just rude. read more

Very good one-stop shop like other Binny's locations. We do still shop some of the local smaller similar businesses but this one has helpful staff, good sales deals, and often offers variety if you want to try a new wine or beer or purchase a gift bottle for someone. read more

This is truly the BEST Binny's I've been to and I've been to most of the locations in Cook/DuPage county. Their customer service is unparalleled to any liquor store and they truly get to know your likes and dislikes in order to customize the experience/give suggestions of wine, beer, whiskey--you name it. I have to admit, I'm really starting to like Binny's. I'm generally not a fan of the big box stores (even for hooch and Stogies), but the prices and easy access make it a store worth visiting. The reason that I give this location a higher mark than the Niles Binny's is that they have a walk in humidor and the Des Plaines location has a much larger selection. You just can't beat the smell of a humidor. If they sold humidor scented air freshener, I would gladly buy it. read more

I have been visting this Binnys location for about 7 years now and I love the joint. They are not expensive and they have a great selection of beers, liquors and wine. I mostly love wine so I always go for that but there has been times when i have needed to buy whiskey or beer and I have never been disappointed. There is always somebody ready and willing to help you out with your purchases. There is always somebody around that is very knowledgeable about their wines. One little set back is they are always out of microbrews. I know people tend to buy them as soon as they get in the store but still. If *YOU* are on the pursuit of craft beer happiness this Binny's has a great selection. I came here specifically because I knew the store carried (the delectable) Dogfish head 90 minute IPA. After taking a stroll throughout the store, my beer buying plans quickly took a detour. I passed by a shelf that had a 6 pack of left hand milk stout, and I was so excited I squealed. I then thought to myself, I wonder what other precious alcoholic rarities this suburban store will conjure up....like three floyds zombie dust? (a girl can dream). I kind of felt like the predator for a while because I was scanning the beer aisle so meticulously it was like I had thermal vision. My heat censors weren't able to detect subtle pulsations of any three floyds, so I asked one of the employees. This particular employee was so nice and helpful. He said that they did not carry zombie dust, but that there were a few cases of three floyds alpha king in their back storage!! I was giddy as a gang banger. Just wanted to take the time to give credit to others when credit is due. I wanted to commend the excellent customer service that is provided by the store manager, Nate and his team. Every time I come in I'm welcomed by an employee. Whether I'm looking for a beer type, a bottle of wine, or a fine bourbon a team member is right there to provide me with assistance and advice. The employees take the time to get to know their customers, which means a lot in this day and age. If you're in the area there should be no other liquor stores you visit but this one. read more

I don't think a lot of people realize that this was the first Binny's location... anyway, the Des Plaines location is like your typical Binny's - in that they carry just about any beer, wine, or liquor you can possibly be looking for. Their prices are always reasonable too. What I like about this location though, is that their employees are always very nice and knowledgeable too. Maybe it's because they don't get as bombarded with customer questions as the employees at the city stores do or something - but I find this store much more approachable and laid back. For example, (after I had already filled up my cart with several beers) one of the managers saw that I was browsing the whiskey for a long time, and she came up and offered me samples of anything I wanted to try that they had sample bottles of. I ended up buying 2 bottles of bourbon that I probably would not have otherwise bought. Conclusion - The Lincoln Park and South Loop stores are still my favorite when it comes to their massive inventories, but this location really does have a lot going for it. read more

HUGE selection (just like all Binny's) from wine to liquer... they've got you covered! You don't drink alcohol? No problem! Neither does my boyfriend (he's allergic) they have a nice little corner or specialty soda's that 'look' like beer that is also fun to drink during parties. Now you don't have to feel left out! Black Friday coupon burning a hole in my pocket I came here on my way home and they unfortunately, didn't have enough of what I wanted. However, as I ended up browsing in wonder (my new home of Tennessee doesn't allow liquor and beer to be sold in the same store-they also just got internet last week.) I was approached by no less than 3 staff members as I first stared in slack jawed wonderment at the plethora of beers like Ralphie at the the Red Ryder BB gun and treated me with polite ignorance as I pressed my nose up against the glass of the Thomas Handy Sazerac that sat behind a glass case-which is my own personal Red Ryder BB gun. read more

Great selection of booze no matter what you are looking for. Most weekends have product reps at different Binny's locations. Always great when free samples are involved on top of discounted prices on said products. Discounts are random and not advertised all that well. This location is not as nice as the Naperville store but it still serves its purpose. You usually can save a few bucks shopping here and you can find what you are looking for 90% of the time. If I am in the area I am sure I will stop in to get a reload on my favorite spirits. read more

The workers at Binny's have become very rude and I probably won't shop their again. Binny's is the only place that doesn't allow you to wear a face shield instead of a mask. They also harass you about social distancing every chance they get. They also get upset when you have to remove your mask if you want to pay with Apple pay. I'm not really sure what they expect me to do considering Face ID doesn't work with a mask. read more
