Their bourbon allocation process must of been written by the Store Managers 6 year old niece. Let me lay it out for you (1) Store gets Bourbon from Supplier (2) Store keeps Bourbon in the back (3) Store refuses to sell you bourbon even though, back to step 1, they have the Bourbon from the Supplier. It's a really efficient process to not generate Revenue. Binny's you need to rethink how you allocate Bourbon. The process doesn't work and you put your 20 something cocky store manager on a power trip on how they will hand it out. This has to improve, it's insane. read more

I have always loved shopping at this Binny's. Most of the associates are helpful and knowledgeable when I need assistance. Today, as I was exiting, i approached the service desk to ask a question. I wanted to know if I was able to get change for a $20 bill. The lady and man behind the counter immediately stated"we don't give change". So, I'm thinking "Really". Now if I go back and make a purchase. Why did I have to keep spending money. They were quick and very short. I didn't ask for anything unusual but they said it together as if I saying "Free ". I shopped Binny's in Evergreen Park today to purchase four bottles of Stella Rosa wine, I put them in the cart along with other items and when I got to the register putting the four bottles on the counter two of them were licking with a trail of wine on the floor in front of me. The man behind the register called the manager over as he gave me paper towels to clean my hands, when the manager came over he proceeded asking the man behind the register did I hit the bottles together to break them or unscrew the cap!!!! He never once apologized or acknowledge that the bottles were unscrewed by someone or in the delivery process when I put them into the cart and wine was all over my hands, the cart and floor!!!! The manager Jeff is terrible and extremely rude. I simply asked him why didnt he ask the 2 people in front of me for their ID but asked for mines (no issues just really wanted to know). He tells me "I can do whatever I want at my discretion". So I simply laugh and say "hmm" and he tried to argue with me and ask me "what does that mean" and when I didn't answer him he told me he wont be serving me. So I go to another line and he walks up and tells the other employee not to serve me and to get out. I was embarassed and confused. Cleanest and most professional liquor store in the Chicago area. So many other liquor stores are dirty or filled with sketchy people, but this one is legitimate. The staff is very knowledgable and professional and the selection is epic. It's the only place that carries a very specific wine I like that can be hard to find. This is my first visit to the converted bowling alley-to-Binny's. It's kind of a cook building, and you still get that bowling alley feel. I came here with a purpose of finding Figanza, a fig-infused vodka, that I had at a mixology class. They beautiful pink-purple bottle was stocked on the shelf, at a few bucks more than what I was told, but no biggie. Like all Binny's, they have a huge selection of pretty much everything. The aisles are wide, signage is good, beer & liquor a plenty. Unlike all Binny's, the staff was not walking around, greeting people, or being helpful. They were standing behind the counter just staring. They had one checkout line open, with several people in line, while three of the staff just stood behind a counter talking. Your typical Binny's... clean, large, well-lit, well-attended, well-stocked, large parking lot, noticeable security guard up-front. If you come here for beer you will not be disappointed. A few days ago I came here for a SPECIFIC beer and I was a day late to get it. My fault... they sold out. I spoke with a nice gent on the floor (could have been a manager, a general employee or even an owner). I told him what I was searching for and he said the beer sold out a day earlier. I was bummed. But he looked around, pulled me aside and said, "You know, I was just at store X and they had a TON of it over there." Sure enough, I drove over to the location he suggested and the beer was there. I did not name names in this review because I don't want to get anyone in hot water. But it is this above-and-beyond service that makes Binny's EP an easy choice for a return visit. The action of ONE person punctuated the camaraderie of beer-lovers. He basically sacrificed a sale to make a customer happy. Well done. Owners and Managers be advised: Despite this negligible loss, one employee's insight to recommend an off-site retailer for a beer you did not have in stock ended with you having a return customer. read more

This store is OK. It does have an expansive selection of wines and spirits although they didn't have Blanton's bourbon or Dixie beer on my last visit. Higher prices all around compared to Kenwood Liquors. I don't like that some customers get an extra 10% off while everyone else pay full price. I work just as hard for my money as everyone else. I went in specifically for the Friday wine tasting from 4 to 7 p.m. that was advertised on the Binny's website and it wasn't happening. Call ahead because apparently they do the wine tastings at the whim of the staff members. When I asked about it on my way out the response was a simply, "sorry, oh well, we usually do more on Saturday's. Visit on Saturday." My family comes to Binny's quite often. After a long day at work, I drove 20 minutes to get something (alongside a friend of mine). When we got to the register, they asked for both of our IDs (even though I was the one holding the liquor). My friend didn't have his ID, but he had a picture of it in his phone. They snatched the liquor with the quickness and didn't utter a word to us. They treated us like we were criminals trying to loot a few bottles... I will never go back. That was very rude of them. Also, why can't you simply look at the picture of his ID? Why did he need to get checked if I am the one with the liquor? Very distasteful. The cashier seemed nice, but whomever her supervisor was gave us the attitude and didn't even bother to say a word to us. Binnys was probably my favorite vendor throughout the entire wedding process. I worked directly with Will Heine from the South Loop store and have nothing but positive feedback to give him. Will is extremely prompt; he usually responded to emails the same day. I was quite an annoying client and had him run numbers for me very frequently with different types of alcohol and different guest counts. Will continued to delivery high quality service every time. He was a joy to work with. One thing I want to make sure people know is Will went above and beyond. We were serving Chicago beer flights at the wedding and Revolution Anti-Hero was one the beers in our flight. Unfortunately, there was a limited supply of Anti-Hero at the time of our wedding because Revolution was brewing it's Fall beer. Will made sure to put cases of Anti-Hero aside for our wedding so that there would be enough for our flights. He did not have to do this, but we greatly appreciated his extra effort. In addition to having great prices, Binnys allowed me to return any unopened bottles or cases of beer back to the store after the wedding. The Monday following our wedding, I went to the Binnys located in Evergreen Park and Jeff, the store manager, was EXTREMELY helpful. I had an entire SUV filled with liquor and beer and his staff helped me unload and get my money back. This made me and my husband very happy. Always a great selection and decent prices. The staff kind of makes it feel like you are committing a crime when you purchase alcohol, though. Security everywhere staring at you and quadruple checking of IDs. To the staff, just know that in the state of Illinois you can get stickers (placed on the back of your license) to extend the expiration date. Know your IDs, people, and don't question valid ones.
