Rooms simple, but they do mostly big events here, so no need for luxury. Windows should not be opened in summer because of the mosquitos. Sometimes it is just possible to open them half due to a shared balcony, but no one can step on it anyway. There will be heat problems in summer, no AC in rooms. Only negative point was the breakfast. Nothing special at all, for a 100€ room there is more to expect. Anyway, it was nice. Would recommened for sure.

By the name (Landhotel) you should know that this is a countryside hotel and, not near a city or…read moretown. Penzburg is about 5km from this little village. But if you are looking for an excellent Bavarian countryside experience it does not get much better than this. The hotel has been gorgeously restored and rebuilt with spacious rooms and balconies. The rooms are well equipped with a nice bed, sofa, big flat screen tv and so on. The restaurant and biergarten is excellent and the food and service here is top class. It was packed all evening and was a total surprise for me considering the location of this place. My whole fish main was cooked to perfection and tasted divine. The menu here is also great and had a few good choices for vegetarians. Staff are very friendly and English is spoken enough for you to communicate in case you struggle with German. The scenery here is also spectacular and you get a great view of the Alps from this hotel (see my photos). The only complaint I had was that we had a room just above the biergarten and it was a little bit noisy in the evening. Other than that this place is without fault. I would happily come back here anytime for a stay and meal.
