I was so excited to stay at Hotel Mio in Munich Germany. I walked in to check in and the front desk…read moremanager/staff was extremely rude. We never got our AMANO surprise on arrival, we barely got a hello. He seemed annoyed we were checking in at 8:40pm on Dec 5th. I thought, maybe German's aren't as friendly! But the entire week in other areas showed me otherwise. I am sad I spent money at this unfriendly hotel. I came down another time to ask about a cab to the airport. The front desk staff was equally as annoyed and rude that I would have a question. I truly never experienced anything like this and I travel more then half the year. The hotel was clean and beautiful and located centrally, but the hotel front manager/staff ruined my experience. The sad part is, when I was checking in- I saw him chatting happily with another male guest but was rude to me and my girlfriend. This hotel is expensive and I recommend staying somewhere else.

The hotel itself is clean, classic, and absolutely stunning. The decor was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. When traveling internationally it is always a fear that you might feel on edge, but at the Charles we felt so safe and taken care of. The concierge had insights on where to go for Christmas markets and eat in the area as well as knowledge about local transportation. They also offered a car service so that we could have a flexible day trip over to Austria. The location is also perfect to walk to Marienplatz and several other attractions nearby. They have great room service and accommodated every request AND MORE. And don't even get me started on the Florio restaurant. It was delicious! For the holidays they had special decorations and offerings which included a pre fixe meal at their Michelin rated restaurant the Florio. Breakfast was also included everyday which was PERFECT. We also received some sweet hospitality gifts from the staff. We are extremely thankful for the Charles as they played an immense part in making our trip fantastic! It's quite large and located right in the center of Munich right across from a beautiful park. The entire staff that we encountered was extremely polite and very accommodating. The restaurant in the hotel was absolutely wonderful and we dined there for breakfast each morning for free. It was a great start to the day. We also ordered room service many times and every single time it was consistently very good. This hotel has many amenities such as a spa and meeting rooms and other things we did not utilize, but it's great to know that they are there. Pricing is also fair in my opinion, there are a lot cheaper places around Munich, but this one really delivers. The only issue that we had is that the air conditioning in the night seemed to almost turn off, so it got quite warm in the room from midnight to 6 AM but still we had a great stay and I would happily stay here again next time I'm in Munich which I hope is pretty soon.

On this cold November night the fireplace was going to keep us warm here. My wife had a dry martini and I had a gin and tonic. The drinks were accompanied with a bowl of peanuts. A few highlights... Claudia the General Manager was fantastic. Our first night got pushed due to downed trees on the train tracks one city away, and she went above and beyond in helping us adjust our booking and fees. Vielen Dank Claudia!! The whole place was clean, quiet, and well styled. Very nice looking gym and sauna. Room was very clean, nice bedding and towels, and some helpful brochures and flyers for local eats (many choices within easy walking distance). They have a washer/dryer!! After a week of traveling around, it was time. And no coins required, which made this a wonderful perk. We grabbed some dinner in the onsite restaurant. Very nice and a super friendly staff.
