Let's just say terrible.. absolutely terrible!! Miranda, I believe is her name.. treated me terribly and it is not the 1st time she's done that to me. It has been SEVERAL times. She is literally the only person that has ever treated me bad and I have been donating there for about 10 years. She deferred me because I spoke up and told her that I don't want her to wait on me again. How sad is it that she thinks that she's punishing me by not allowing me donate when in fact, it's not me that she's punishing.. it's the sick, the ones who need our plasma. BioLife Plasma is an unprofessional, no customer service kind of business. Don't waste your time. I wrote a long description of the issues but my review is declined due to length of post.. Long long hour+ long line wait times. Watched people leave because of this. They refuse to answer the phone most of the time. Watched a lab tech stand by the ringing phone and state out loud: "no time for that today" (answering). Seems this is their policy not to answer if their only part-time admin Clerk isn't there- which she wasn't. Lack of communication, nurses refusals to return phone calls (at least 3 times for me alone) to inquire and confirm if paperwork my provider sent multiple times was received. I was lied to more than I once over the phone, but in person confirmed the paperwork had indeed been received. 2- 3 mos trying to get this issue resolved by phone, to no avail. People are not watching or staffing the front desk. When lab staff note you are there they turn away and ignore you. Worst yet: I eat organic, don't drink or drug. Am 100% healthy. But because I said "I didn't know" in response to a question of what kind of mold was surgically removed from my sinus because both doctors I asked to have it tested, refused I was treates like a liar and banned from ever giving plasma donation by a nurse who was angry long before I ever walked into her office. Infact, I commented on it before we started and she confirmed her bad day status before evetually taking it out on me. One mess of a place. Find another plasmapberesis donation company to work with. This one seems to look for unsubstantiated ways to decline you. read more

I don't know if it's just a me thing, but i got no info on what to bring so i showed up with my ID and was turned back around because i didn't have my social security card. i rescheduled and came back the next day where they had a brand new fresh-out-of-training girl checking veins to test blood, and she didn't feel comfortable trying to put an IV into my "small" veins but i have never had that issue before. They also gave me a protein shake before hand with chunks in it that had gone bad a week prior. If you want to come here just make sure you're over-prepared and check the date on the protein shake. read more

I waited in the waiting room filling out endless paperwork just for them to say that because I have a tattoo on one arm, I can't donate....the time wasted did give me the opportunity to observe how dirty this place is so if you don't mind sharing dirty needles with joplin crackheads where a couple of the nurses are clearly going through a meth withdrawal....this place is great read more

I have went to biolife for year. I would carpool 40 miles with friend/family. They are terrible! Every time we go they make reasons we can't donate. Either blood pressure, or heart rate is too high. Or they close early and not tell us. Or they have too many people. Or they don't have enough supplies. Also, I call every time before I go to see if I can schedule a donation along with my friends and they never answer the phone or call us back. I'm very disappointed. Today I've decided not to ever go again. Why? Today I looked on line and they said they would be open till 7:30 tonight and close tomorrow due to running low of supplies. So I drove 40 miles with my friends/family, I got there at 6, and seen they lock the doors. I tried many times to call and go online to schedule, but no one would answer. I lost gas money again. Also biolife will be losing about 3 other donors because I refuse to take them. I give biolife of Joplin, Missouri the worst rating ever. read more

After I did routine questions& tests I was set up to donate plasma. As soon as the machine kicked in and started to separate blood and plasma I had immediately noticed that the bag collecting plasma was not the normal 'apple juice color' but that it had a decent amount of blood in it. I then told SEVERAL different employees that it appeared to be abnormal. Even after looking at the bag they had dismissed the color AND MY CONCERN for the abnormal factor. When I was being taken off the machine an associate had told me that it was going to have to be discarded because there was so much blood in the bag. Right before I got off the donation chair I was told that I was going to have to see a nurse to address the questions that I had. When I got up from the chair I was told to follow an associate to the check out screen. NOT ONCE had they had any kind of concern about me WALKING or STANDING at the touch screen to log out. After I logged out I was told to sit down and wait for a nurse to come and answer the questions I had. I was called into the nurses office was told that I was going to have to wait at the center for 30min because I might be lightheaded. I had then asked if I had a family member come and pick me up and I was a passenger in the car if I could leave. (Thinking that the only reason that they don't want me to leave and drive a car is because I would be lightheaded.) I verbally attempted to rationalize why I couldn't leave in a family vehicle if I wasn't driving because of 'lightheadedness' and honestly got frustrated because I didn't understand why I couldn't leave if I wasn't driving for being 'lightheaded'. After I sat in the waiting room and told my husband that I didn't think that I should drive and that he should come and pick me up AFTER I got done with my 30min, I had different lady pull me into her office and begin to explain why I couldn't leave. Reasons like blackout pass out, lightheadedness &dizziness and had verbally recognized that I was OBVIOUSLY upset at the situation. She asked me why I had gotten that way to begin with. And, I had told her that it was because the nurse hadn't ever said that I might pass out, might blackout, or might be might be dizzy! And that I couldn't rationalize not being able to leave for being lightheaded if I wasn't driving. And, then confronted her about feeling like I was being pulled into an office and 'getting a talking to'. I told her that if the nurse had originally told me that I might pass out, black out, or be dizzy that the reasons for keeping me there WOULD HAVE BEEN rationalized! I told her that I had called my husband and that he was going to drive me home after my 30min and she told me that if I left I was pretty much going to be banned from coming to another BioLife facility. After feeling like I had been done such a disservice from the faculty right down from telling the associates that something was wrong from the BEGINNING, to not telling me all of the symptoms that I might encounter so I could rationalize such a request and NOT HAVE BECOME so angry this entire situation could have been avoided!! read more
