the site does a great job for the donations. My issues are that everyone gets paid for their donation differently. My Visit to the Kirby Drive Bio Plasma Center visited your Kirby Drive location in Pearland, Texas, for my appointment. I arrived at approximately 4:35 p.m. When I attempted to complete my screening questions, the system indicated that I needed to see a staff member. An employee called a manager and The manager because she said my previous test results were normal. A manager came over with another young lady and told me I needed to provide a blood sample. I explained that I had already provided that sample and had been told it was normal. The manager then asked an employee who was visiting the center how to override the system, and after that I was finally able to complete my questionnaire. After finishing the questionnaire, I waited at the end of a long line. When I reached the front, a young lady had me scan my finger and then told me I needed to see the nurse. The nurse reviewed my information but said she couldn't determine what the issue was, so she asked me to sit in another chair while she contacted another manager, While I was waiting, The manager spent several minutes talking and laughing with a former employee before coming over to me. When she finally reviewed my account, she said the nurse needed to review it again. I returned to the nurse, who told me that everything on my account was green and that everything looked good. I then got back in line. There was no one else waiting, yet several employees were standing around talking and laughing before one finally called me forward. I scanned in again, and the employee told me I was finished and could get my payment card. I asked, "How am I finished when my finger stick, vital signs, and weight haven't been completed?" She then called themanager back. The manager was not friendly during our interaction. I calmly explained that if I had not spoken up, I could have been allowed to donate without completing the required screening process. The manager responded by saying the doctor needed to review my file. I asked how this situation had gotten this far when I had been at the center since 4:35 p.m. The manager then told me she was trying to explain the situation and that she didn't like the way I was speaking to her. She accused me of being rude to her staff and asked me to leave the building. I was surprised because I was simply asking why the required steps had not been completed. I asked to speak with the manager who had previously told me everything had been corrected.The manager stated that The other manager had just recently returned to the center and that procedures had changed since he had left, so he was unaware of the current process. It seemed to me that The manager became upset because the required procedures had not been followed. The manager later told me that since the other manager said the doctor needed to review my file, I would have to wait, and he offered me a $10 accommodation. I respectfully declined because I wasn't looking for money--I wanted the situation to be handled correctly and for the process to be fixed. I have never felt so humiliated during a donation visit. I donate plasma because I want to help others, and the compensation also helps with my grandson's baseball expenses. I have worked at MD Anderson for 21 years, and I understand the importance of professionalism, patient care, and following proper procedures. I also want to be fair and recognize the employees who treated me kindly. The nurse, the young lady at the first screening station who asked if I needed help, and the employee who initially called a manager were all respectful and helpful. My complaint is not about them. Please let me know when my file has been reviewed and whether I have been cleared to donate. I would also like to transfer my donations to another nearby Bio Plasma center once I am cleared. BEWARE BEWARE! MARKETING SCAM LOCATION!!!! When you are allowed to donate it is fine. BUT!!!!! They will advise you can get a "new donor" bonus of 700+ dollars if you donate 8 times in 30 days. You have to wait 48 hours between donatations and can't donate more than 2 times in 7 days. That's all great in theory. However, on your 3rd visit they will take a blood sample and "send it off". That blood test will then conveniently not return for 5-10 business days and you aren't allowed to donate until it returns. On some instances it never returns and is "lost" or "arrives at the facility but is to eroded and old to be tested". You can not call and check the status of if the results came back so you have to drive to the location and check until u get lucky enough for them to tell you "oh it's back yea you can donate" In short you can never make the new donor bonus. And you will spend more in gas driving to the location than you will make from donating. read more

I had a very unprofessional and uncomfortable experience at this plasma center involving an employee named D'Asia who was assigned to the Pink section at the time of my donation (04/25/2025) As we all know in order to donate plasma you first have to go through the vitals and once you're cleared the front staff sends you to your designated area by giving you a colored card that assigns you to the area with the next available bed. Fast forward I pass my vitals and I'm assigned to the "pink section" so i grab my card and go. Of course I'm expecting on finding an empty bed because if all the of beds are full then the donors have to wait in the "aqua section." As I approach the pink section I notice that there are no beds available so I go back and return to where donors who are done donating usually drop off their assigned section colored cards in hopes to get a new card (mind you I didn't think that me not wanting to wait for a bed on a section that was full and going to grab a new card with a new assigned section that was AVAILABLE was going to turn into something more.) As I go and get a new card I communicate with one of the staff nurses that all the beds in the pink area are full so then she hands me a silver card and I go back to find an empty bed. Surprisingly the next section I was assigned to was located right next to the pink section i was originally at. So I sit on the next available bed and wait to be connected. I was sitting in between two donors in the silver section. The employee in charge of Silver was attending another donor that was on the right side next to me while D'Asia began attending the donor to my left side (this donor also sat after I did, and from experience I know that most phlebotomist apply the first come first serve rule at this center). However i didn't really pay much attention to that but as she was assisting the donor on my left side , she began to gossiping about me with the employee who was in charge of the silver section who also happen to be next to me on the right side. Now I don't know if D'Asia was going through a sense of "boldness" or if she simply didn't care or if she just "assumed" I was wearing ear pods. BUT she started speaking about me in a non professional way. As soon as I heard that she was speaking about me with another employee I turned to her because she was still standing next to me and I looked at her and told her that I was NOT going to stand and wait for a bed on a section that had no availability while other sections were available (plus at that time the center was not even full). Even after I confronted her, D'Asia continued talking about me as if I wasn't right there. I genuinely don't understand what made her think gossiping about a donor--right next to and in front of them--was even remotely appropriate. It was incredibly disrespectful and flat-out unprofessional! The ease with which she did this leads me to believe it may not have been the first time--and that she's never been held accountable for this kind of unethical behavior toward donors. That's unacceptable in any healthcare setting. D'Asia is supposed to be a healthcare professional there to assist donors, not run her mouth! Pardon my tone, but as someone who works in healthcare myself, I would never treat a patient or anyone with the kind of attitude and disregard she showed me. I also doubt this kind of behavior aligns with BioLife's company values or policies Both staff and donors deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect ..it's human decency to do so . However, being gossiped about by staff next to you and in front of you is completely UNACCEPTABLE . There is NO level of PROFESSIONALISM ON staff who act the way D'ASIA did. It's honestly such a SHAME that I'm having to write a bad review over something so little and pathetic when there was nothing wrong done on my end. I truly hope management addresses this behavior, as it reflects poorly on the center and discourages people from wanting to return. read more

I went through the full process expecting to be able To use a promotion they sent me from that specific location and then told me I couldn't use it because it was revised for new donors mind you I haven't been there in 3 years over all why send me a promotion and then tell me I can't use it. This isn't even about the location I went to today. First time donating here...sort of...I didn't get to donate. I've donated at Griffolz many times. I didn't go back because they butchered my arm. This place...BioLife, has alot of stuff on the website pertaining to people who can't donate. I read thru all of it. No problems foreseen. So I go to my appointment. I got up to the clinical exam. This requires reading thru yet another list of things they don't allow...So upon getting to the clinical, I was then asked of medical procedures. I had a neck operation 3 years ago...I was told that I am disqualified from donating. I don't understand. In the notes I read, it says that the clinic would call my doctor to see if I was okay to donate. But that is not what happened. They have an in-clinic "doctor" who is in charge of denying possible donors. The reason they gave to me was total BS. Saying something along the lines of in makes my cervical spine weaker...what? duh? Isn't that up to me? I've donated many times at other places and just because I donate, my head didn't fall off or anything...yet, You have someone who is likely right out of med school with no experience , saying I can't donate because I had a neck operation??? I witnessed a man, overweight, and lighting up a cigarette right after he donated...I know nicotine creates lots of issues...yet you won't let someone with a well healed spine operation donate??????????? Maybe put that in your disqualification notes on your website maybe? You wasted 2 hours of my time and I cancelled things around it...Thanks for nothing BioLife. I am very dissatisfied with how I was treated today. I have made deposits when I can. Not every week but when I have availability. Your promotion last week was: make one donation and receive $40 and on your second donation receive $85. I made the first donation on Thursday Oct 20. The coupon said it was good for 7 days of my first donation and the time would start when I made the donation. I hydrated well and ate a good protein breakfast one hour before my appointment. I checked in 15 min early for prescreening. I then waited and waited. By the time I was finished I had been there for over 2 hours! I live 5 minutes away but started feeling faint, nauseated and had to get to the bathroom. I ended up laying on the bathroom floor for awhile so I wouldn't fall and hurt myself. I then layed on the couch, feet above my heart and as I waited for the symptoms to dissipate I fell asleep for 4 hours. I let myself recover fully, taking it easy before I went to make my second donation today, Tues Oct 26. I again, well hydrated and ate a protein rich breakfast, this time right before I left for my 10:40am appt. I did not finish until 1pm and was only given $40. I tried to explain I was given the wrong amount and was told the promotions run Sunday - Saturday and she called a manager. I showed the manager the dates of donations and how the coupon is worded. She had to look at a calendar with another woman that I can only assume she was training. She counted out loud how many days separated Oct 20 and 26 (I guess she can't do simple math to figure out it's 6 days. She told the woman how to do the math 75-40 and to add it but when I corrected her telling her it was 85... She just reitterated how the promotions run Sunday - Saturday and decided to not change it. I'm so frustrated that I don't believe I will return to Biolife at all much less the one located in 1011 Webster,Tx. read more

This place lacks proper cleaning and sanitization procedures and practices. The entitled and inept management staff directs a crew of incompetent butchers posing as phlebotomists. Each donation I made required a minimum of three separate sticks. The pittance this place pays is not worth the pain inflicted. read more
