Just when I thought the place couldn't sink any lower, a new levels of fail were reached. I went there Thursday at about 6:40-6:45 and their security guard was outside telling people that they were closed "they were short staffed" because a staff member had a death in the family and that they had to get people out of there all day. I look inside, there were 8-10 people in line and they were still taking plasma. Not to be disrespectful or callous but the whole thing reeked of bullshit. I understand that things could happen but if it was that bad, why not just send out an email, text, or message through the app and shutdown earlier rather than just keep having a normal business day and then sending security out and writing a note to close 15-20 minutes early when you can't just shutdown and leave anyway? It's a gamble coming there because if they want to mail it in, you basically wasted your time and travel. They don't let you fill out your intake early anymore beyond 30 minutes and you often have to redo it because the wait is so long. According to their own rules, if you're in before closing and you pass your screening, you'll be seen. It's just on you to complete the donation. You also have to watch some of those screeners because they can bullshit you too and defer you just to get you out because they want to chill. You basically have to write off 3-4 hours minimum to donate. Besides the chronic short staffing, you have to factor in employee breaks and people cutting line. When it comes to line cutting, you have to be aware at all times because people will literally walk in and not only try to get in front of you but will cut the entire line. People will also let randoms with sob stories cut or reserve spots for their friends. Waiting for the place to open is even worse since you're outside and line cutting and fighting is even worse then. The employees, management, and security don't pay attention and won't do shit when you try talking to them but they'll throw you and whoever's starting shit out if you stand up for yourself. Hell, I've seen them call the police to throw somebody out who complained out loud when the employees were watching TV instead of sticking donors. There's also been cases before where they'll send security out to try and keep people from coming in well before closing with some crazy excuse but they're still up and running. Another tactic they do is to offer an express pass to come back tomorrow when they're in the mood to fuck off. The problem with that is they don't allow them to be used after 5PM and it only applies to the screening line instead of the full visit like Octapharma designed. Contacting corporate is useless since the communication is redirected to them rather than someone with oversight. They basically get to run themselves. read more

They only have a 1 or 2 people at all times who take vitals, which makes the line longer and congested. The line is so long that people sit on floor within the line. I even seen one guy sleep while sitting on the floor waiting to be screened. The workers are rude and there is Mexican security guard that sneaks around and peaks on your phone to see what you are doing. That is a bit much for me. read more

I've been donating at the Stella Link location for over a year. The staff is largely amiable, if terribly inefficient. The questionnaire through the app has streamlined things somewhat, but not nearly enough. The queue for screening is very slow, and must be endured, standing. Any Shakey's Pizza could do much better, even the DMV lets you take a number and sit. I've stood in line a minimum of 45 minutes, and as much as four and a half hours. This is exacerbated by the facility having six stations for screening, but generally a maximum of two screeners on duty, and quite frequently only one. There is evidently zero cross-training, although I have ben told that this particular location is used for training of new employees. The phlebotomists are a mixed bag, mostly rather inexperienced. I've had bruises from venipuncture that have disqualified me from donating for as long as three weeks. There are obvious solutions to these problems, but they do not seem to be a priority to management. read more

I enjoy Octapharma located on Stella Link! They treat you with the upmost respect, even when their is a long line the staff acknowledges you. When it's your turn they apologize for the wait & even give you a what I call V.I.P. pass to basically skip to the front of the line just to show their appreciation!!! Although it works both ways. You have to be patient with them. Even if they are under staffed or if the lines are long just your turn & that will make the process easier for you. The place is always clean & they have televisions for your comfort while you wait to what I call help saving a life! The staff greet you with a warm welcome. The restrooms are always stocked. Well I can speak for the ladies restroom only. Their hours of operation are great! Also if you download the app on your phone you can keep up with your vitals, as well as your donations. I can say nothing good about this place. The lines take longer to get through than it does to donate plasma (1-1/2 hours) - and that's if you're accepted. They asked me to get a medical release due to my age, which I did, all signed and approved by my PCP. OP's bureaucrats rejected it, and demanded that two, count 'em, two, alphabetic letters be added to it by the doctor. I did that. I brought it back in and four days later got a call from their in-house MD, approving me to donate. But when I went in again, they made even more excuses not to let me donate! They asked for more mods to the medical release, which my doctor provided, and now they want me to go through the whole process all over again! If they can't get it right the first time, why would I trust them again? I visited them 6 times for a total of 8 hours of waiting, but was never accepted to donate a drop. If you want to participate in a completely broken system inhabited by incompetent back office people, go ahead and go to Octapharma, Me, I recommend you not waste your time. After all, if they can't get the paperwork right, what guarantee is there that you won't catch HIV or some other illness from them? Go elsewhere. read more

Just drove about 13 miles to this location to drop off a relative before they close at 5pm(Dec 24, 2022) as is showing on their phone App. We get there just to find they are Closed due to plumbing problems! i am unclear why management doesn't see the disfunction on the floor. people take time out of their day to come donate. it shouldn't take as long as it does to get in/out if this place was ran by someone who cares about a reputable name or place. Half the time the machines are not set up and ready, and this is when the doors open. usually their late to open doors and have to wait 30/40 minutes to start, again when they first open. the staff complains and makes clients wait while they have their discussion about lunch, etc.. if management paid attention this place could be one of the best. but no one cares enough to read the reviews and make changes for the best. read more

I was in there 3/14/19 This was the worst experience ever. They we goofing around with donors talking about personal things allowing donors they know to yell and act foolish. The techs were busy laughing and talking instead of concentrating. This is not a party but a place of bussiness. Donors were using profanity as well as employees. It amazes me this is tolerated. I donate to the location in Pasadena. Megan is awesome and has a wonderful sense of humor and very good at getting you thru the process quickly. This is a worthy cause and you will never know who's life you saved by just taking a hour or two out of your day.There is young Hispanic girl that I haven't caught her name yet but she deserves a raise and a paid vacation to Maui. My best experience so far, Donovan needs to be the supervisorl of the donor floor. He loves his job he's always consistent he's a team player he can stick my veins and they are small and they roll, he keeps his teammates spirits up, keep the donors in good spirits, especially when there's a long wait. He's never out of character no matter what the situation is and I've seen so many different situations that can be discouraging to employees there. Donovan stands out and I see the morale rubbing off on everyone from front to back, check the tape corporate on Donovan's customer service care to clients leadership skills and problem solving methods. I want y'all to play the footage on him because he keeps the same attitude every time every situation. And the clientele can be quite rough. Everyone is fabulous there I never feel mistreated or as if I'm a number, but I do sometimes see the reflection of being overworked or overextended on some of the staff, not that it comes across in their customer service I can see it in their body language because I've been cutting hair for 34 years and I know how you can be over extended.but Donovan I promise you I have never saw a different look on his face or a change in his attitude no matter what the situation was or how many donors were in there or how overworked they were. I've been a business owner for 34 years same business, and I know enough about the mechanisms and about clientele and about the workflow especially in this industry because there's a lot of liability involved if people slack up or stop caring. Please play the footage because I've never seen this in Donovan. Recognize that man accordingly and promote him to the title that he is deserving of. Your biggest mistake is to think that the clients don't know his worth and that is co-workers don't know his worth and that the clients and co-workers don't value him being there. read more

The worst place you can go to it's dirty and the people are very slow and don't wanna do there jobs

Let me put it this way, I know this place is always busy but no matter if I come early as 6:30am to be in line whenever they open at 7am or late as 3pm. You'll be there waiting for about 2-4 hours to get out. When you enter if it's not your first time, takes about 10-20mins to get on on line to access the computer to answer the questions everyone is asked when they enter. Takes about 5mins to answer them. Then you get in line to get your blood screened/checked & you wait from 20-45mins After that, you sit and wait to be called which it takes from 20mins-1h After you're called, you lay on the bed & wait another 10-30mins to be hooked to the needle. After that depending your body, may take 30mins-1h to finish your plasma donation. Then you gotta wait 5-15mins for someone to come and unhook you from the needle & then you're good to go. I know it's a donation place so I shouldn't have any excuses because everyone in here is for the compensation, that's a fact, but the waiting time is ridiculous so if you plan on coming, expect here to be half a day. read more

So I went to this place to donate plasma. I was not aware that this was a paid for plasma warehouse. I go in and the smell of A$$ and Frito slaps you in the face. The people there waiting to get paid for their crack/meth plasma were the bottom of the barrel of society. They were unclean, yesterdays clothes on, ashy, dirty hair....it was horrible. I just turned around and walked out. The center is in the hood and everything about it is hood. I wouldn't sit on a chair or lay on a table after any of these people. I wouldn't even except plasma from this center, I am very curious what their screening process it. Looks like the standards are low. read more

Tabatha you are so right....I was actually discriminated against when I went in. I am Muslim and I visited this center on Tuesday 10/4/2016 wearing a dress and my burqa. I was on the website to make sure that prior to going to make sure I would have everything I need. I was driving from the Clear Lake area so I wanted to be sure I had what I needed. I got there with all of my documents and my online billing statement that I printed off was not acceptable. I explained that I am paperless and all my bills are on line. They told me I would have to get a bill from the company. As I look around I am confused because there is NO WAY all of these people have bills in their names, half of them failed to even shower that day. So I drive back home to Clear Lake. I go to the Clear Lake Water Authority and get a printed bill, which looks exactly the same as the bill I tried to submit. On today 10/5/16 I showed up at 9am in my dress and Barqa and they tell me I can't do it because I have a dress on. WHAT!!!! They said nothing about my dress on Tuesday but all of a sudden I can't have a dress on because they have to look at my stomach. Since I do not wear or own pants or shorts I said I have a sheet in my car that I could wrap around my waste so my dress can be lifted without exposing my body, they said NO it has to be pants or shorts. DISCRIMINATE MUCH???? They were very rude, I asked to speak to a supervisor and she was busy. So I left and since I was parked right out front I called on my cell phone and asked for a supervisor and the girl that was at the front counter who said the supervisor was busy, pretended to be the supervisor on the phone as I watched her from my car. I guess this was a good thing because if the place is as dirty as Tabatha A. says, I dodged a bullet. read more
