Yesterday, I had an amazing experience while getting my teeth pulled. Dr. Kalasho did lovingly "scold" me, but it came from a place of genuine care and concern. I truly felt like a VIP--watching Netflix with a weighted blanket, under-eye patches, and even provided reading glasses so I could relax comfortably while enjoying my movie. This morning, I woke up with no pain, just some expected soreness in my jaw, but no discomfort in the treated area. I was even able to go to work without any issues. A huge thank you to Misha, Dr. Kalasho, and the entire team for checking in on me, making sure I was comfortable, offering water, and ensuring I didn't doze off. Your care and kindness mean so much!

1st off Dr. Kalasho closed this office…read more I had Dr. Kalasho do a root canal and the crown and remove my wisdoom tooth in Jan 2025. I had no problems with the work done, or at least I though so.. In the spring of 2025, I went for a checkup, and Dr Kalasho was on leave and her replacement told me I developed another 2 cavities... just a few months after the original cavity was fixed. I couldnt believe my ears and I agreed to fix it. However, they had just closed the Hollywood office, and the closest location would have then been in Beverly Hills and I had no interest in visiting not even once. And I didnt have time to look for a new denist in the area. Fast forward to the spring 2026, I went to 2 different reputable denists in the area and they both said I had no cavity in that tooth.. I was in awe. Questions came flashing back.. Why every time did I have to sign the waiver 10x longer and more specific than at other denist's I have gone to? Why I was charged 5k for a crown that another denist said did not have that u-shape that teeth have to block most of the food in between the teeth? Was it as bad as I was made to believe? I don't know. But my suspicious makes sense. The office and the equipmennt that looked better than I have seen in Hollywood movies. Friendly chit-chat WITH LITERALLY EVERYONE in the office. Talking about families, sharing personal stories, laughing together. And then the friendly by the way reminder.. Do you want to prepay? Let's take care of this bill right away etc etc. At the end of the day, however, I couldnt shake the feeling how forced the interactions appeared. Too good to be true, fake. But Dr. Javdan was confident that he could help me, and he was absolutely right! My teeth were pretty stubborn, but he kept working with me and helped me get the smile I always wanted. I used to hide my teeth when I smiled, but now I can proudly show my smile! He also saved one of my teeth without me having to go through a root canal. When I needed bonding to protect my tooth from future damage, he did it so quickly and did an amazing job. You might find a cheaper dentist and think you're saving money, but honestly, in the long run, I think Dr. Javdan will save your teeth and save you money from having to deal with bigger problems later. I originally came to this practice for a routine checkup and was told I needed a deep cleaning…read more(SRP) and two crowns because two old fillings had deep decay underneath them. I scheduled the deep cleaning first, but on the day of the appointment the dentist repeatedly told me that the crowns were much more important and strongly recommended doing them first instead. I felt pressured into changing my treatment plan that day, and I agreed. The crown procedure ended up taking about 3.5 hours. During the appointment, I was moved from one room to another because they needed an X-ray machine that was only available in a different room. I was left waiting there for a while before being moved back. The entire process felt disorganized and unprofessional. What bothered me even more was that after one tooth had already been drilled and while I was still numb in the chair, someone from the front desk came into the treatment room to collect payment while I'm in the middle of the procedure. It felt like the financial aspect of the visit was being prioritized over patient care by miles. The office itself also raised concerns. The dental chair I was in couldn't be lowered because it was broken, and one of the staff members laughed and commented that it had been that way for about a year. That did not inspire confidence. Looking back, there were other interactions that also made me uncomfortable. During my very first appointment, the dentist asked how much I pay for my dental insurance because he questioned the quality of my plan. I didn't think much of it at the time, but in hindsight it felt unrelated to my care. Before the crowns, I was told the sensitivity should resolve within about two weeks. Two months later, I was still experiencing significant sensitivity, so I returned for a follow-up. I told the dentist I was worried the tooth under the crown might be exposed. Instead of addressing that concern directly, he told me I should be happy because the sensitivity meant the nerve was still alive. While that may be true from a clinical perspective, it did not address why I was still in pain or ease my concerns. I also wish I had been better informed about the risks of placing crowns on teeth with deep decay. I was told the crowns were intended to help prevent root canals, but I was not informed beforehand that a tooth can still become inflamed after such a procedure and may eventually require root canal treatment despite the crown. Knowing that possibility in advance would have helped me make a more informed decision. At that same follow-up visit, while my concerns about the crowns had still not been resolved, I was asked whether I wanted to have a filling done on another tooth. That felt poorly timed and reinforced my impression that additional treatment was being prioritized before addressing my existing issue. Another thing that stood out to me was how often the dentist seemed to reference my treatment plan and the associated charges during my visits. It gave me the impression that the financial side of my case was constantly top of mind. Before the crowns, I repeatedly asked whether my Invisalign retainers would still fit afterward. I explained that they were plastic and couldn't simply be adjusted if the shape of my teeth changed. Each time, I was assured they would either continue to fit or be adjusted if necessary. As I feared, the retainers no longer fit after the crowns were placed. When I brought this up, instead of honoring the assurances I had been given, I was told I would need to pay about $300 for a replacement retainer. That was extremely frustrating and made me feel that my concerns had not been taken seriously from the beginning. One final observation: I may have misheard, so I cannot state this as fact, but I thought I overheard one of the dentists asking a patient out on a date. If that is what I heard, I found it inappropriate. To be fair, I also take responsibility for my own decisions. I could have asked more questions, taken more time to think, or declined treatment that day. However, I expect a healthcare provider to respect a patient's treatment plan, provide thorough informed consent, and make the patient's interests feel like the priority. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I left feeling that the practice placed too much emphasis on production and too little on patient-centered care. I will not be returning.

They provide weighted blankets, a neck pillow, stress balls to squeeze and other items to help you be more comfortable and relaxed, and Dr. Oganesyan was incredibly gentle. A root canal procedure is probably one of the few experiences where "not bad!" is a rave review, but it was truly painless, physically and emotionally. I was frankly shocked. Particularly if someone is very nervous or worried about pain, this is the practice to go to.
