Outstanding dental center! I found Bluffton Center for dentistry by accident when I used google to search for the #1 dentist in the area. Google was not wrong, although I'd say based on my experience, this dental center is in the top % of dental centers across the USA. The team at this office are exceptional, from the outstanding skills of Dr Porcelli and his technical assistants to the front office team, they all demonstrate a consideration for patient health and well-being that I have never experienced at any other medical or dental facility. The holistic "head to toe" approach of the team is amazing - I had a full consultation with Dr Danenberg and following his reset plan was able to identify inflammatory markers in my diet which were causing me major health issues, not just with my mouth area. Dr Porcelli then reviewed my medical history in detail and was able to identify a source of infection that had eluded multiple dentists across 3 continents for the last 12 years and remove it. One of the most remarkable things about this place is how they really listen - this sounds so simple but it makes a huge difference. Dr Porcelli's cosmetic dentistry skills are exceptional - he is worth traveling across the country to be in his care and the care of his associated team - I wouldn't trust my dental care to any other team and am traveling from FL to SC regularly now as part of a plan to address my dental needs. I do NOT like being in a dentist's chair. I just dont. I've always had fear. That said, one still must see the dentist. Recently, I had my first visit with Silvia (a dental hygienist) to clean my teeth. It was a while since I had them cleaned. I didn't know what to expect and assumed the procedure would be uncomfortable given that I needed a deeper cleaning. I have to say, this was my first ever dental visit where I felt calm and in caring hands. SHE WAS GOOOOD!! The hygienist gave me a blanket because I was a bit cold. She asked me what music I'd like to listen to (you can choose anything) and then laid me back on a chair that had my ceiling illuminated with a tropical beach scene. Then, she spoke gently and slowly about each thing she was doing. She even had me laughing. When she was done, my teeth looked amazing and I realized that I didn't have my usual anxiety in the chair. I am so impressed. As I was leaving, I could hear the doctor in the next room speaking with the patient with the same care and and attention and felt this must be the office culture. ALWAYS the best experience, from beginning to end! The office is beautifully furnished and the cleaning rooms and chairs are so cozy you could take a nap (seriously). The hygienists are thorough, knowledgeable and experienced, share the industry's latest products for best practices in oral care and always asks for feedback to make sure that my mouth is squeaky clean before I get out of the chair. Dr. Porcelli is simply the best. He's personable, engaging and makes you feel like family. I actually look forward to my bi-annual appointments so that I can catch up with him and his darling wife, Alina. They are the epitome of professional and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Debbie and the admin staff are so friendly and accommodating and always make scheduling (and rescheduling) easy. They even process my insurance claim on my behalf so its one less thing I have to worry about. My experience today (Saturday, will no scheduled appointment) was above and beyond what I would expect of any dental office. I was involved in an accident and was left with two badly chipped teeth. I assumed I would be dealing with them until at least Monday and schedule an appointment from there. As soon as I made contact with Courtney in the office I was assured they would see me before they closed the doors. I am new to town and I am not even a patient of record at this office. As I walked in, they were ready for me and I was fitted in right between scheduled patients. I didn't know what to expect from the initial meeting or what I would see when I looked in the mirror. I am amazed to say that even my husband wasn't able to tell that there had been work done. I am so thankful that they went the extra mile to make sure I didn't have to go through the weekend with the pain and awkwardness of jagged teeth. My how time flies when one is having fun. A few weeks ago, 11 SEP 2020 to be exact, I had a periodic oral exam and dental cleaning. I intended to write a comment then but time got away from me. I have been going to Dr. Porcelli for over 3 years now and I have always had a great experience. I have great confidence in him. He is very talented and I recommend him to everyone I know. I just had a filling this morning. Dr. Porcelli and his assistant Kesha did an excellent job. He takes his time and never is rushed or overbooked. The color matched perfectly. Dr. Porcelli is an artist of your teeth and only uses quality labs. The dental team is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I broke a front tooth less than a week before leaving for a two-week business trip. Panicked, I called their office and they got me in immediately and made a temporary retainer for my trip. Upon my return, I began a process to repair the broken tooth and 3 crowns of similar vintage on the verge of failure, plus 2 veneers on either side to accommodate attachment of the bridge with the missing tooth. It was a complicated repair and required numerous appointments over 4 months, but the result is flawless and there is no hint of any prior damage to my smile or bite. As someone who gets very nervous going to the dentist, I can't say enough good things about this place. Came in this morning for a cleaning and had a great experience after a not-so-great experience at a different Beaufort dentist. (Turns out tears make some doctors uncomfortable haha). Both Dr. Porcelli and my hygienists Laura and Kesha were so kind about calming my nerves, kept me laughing the entire time, and even though I had to get a filling, they made the process easy and pain free. I am very particular about my teeth and especially my dentist. I originally went to the Beaufort office driving all the way from Hilton Head. I have lived all over the world and it has always been difficult to find a "good dentist", well I certainly did here. The office staff is fantastic, they are on top as far as their technology with their reminders and the ease of access. Dr. Porcelli has done a couple crowns and replacement of another crown it always amazes me how perfect they are the first time and the lack of need for "adjustments". Dr. Porcelli is an excellent dentist. Not only does he have superior technical skills and knowledge, he also has a big heart. Because of damage to one of my TM joints due to a car accident as a child, I have ground my teeth all my life, doing major damage to them. Dr. Porcelli was able to save my lower front teeth when I had been told I would need bridgework. I have seen him several times and I am always impressed by his staff and the center's office.
