I wanted to know which would be more helpful and was informed that giving platelets would be more helpful, however, it would take 1.5 to 2 hours. I had the time so I opted to donate platelets. Once I went to the donation chair everyone was super nice and accommodating making sure I had drinks and snacks to keep me comfortable. The process did take 2 hours but I left knowing I would want to donate again and would return to this location.

Got paid immediately, my friend referred me so she will be getting a bonus. Staff were very polite and nurturing. The wonderful ladies that took care of me on my first donation were Marquette and Mayra. And my second donation, I wasn't able to get her name but she's the phlebotomist trainer? (she assisted me on my first and second donation, and she did spectacular on my stick today.) My only negative would be about the facility. They only had one kiosk working. BUTT you can complete your intake on your phone.

He is excellent and will do well in any medical career he choose because a good Attitude is everything. I was also impressed with the nice young ladies who pre-screen you ( weight, temperature, finger prick;-(,ect.) The ones that screened me on 11/01/2025 & 11/03/2025 were SWEETHEARTS! Very helpful & kind in explaining what to do next ect. I'm giving this location a FIVE STAR REVIEW & definitely recommend it! The intake took a while because my doctor's nurse put my nickname on the order. So, I had to return after they fixed it. Getting blood drawn is not like in the Dracula movie. They got pretty efficient system and comfort. I was given plenty of instructions afterwards. Got my snacks and water before I left about half hour after they closed. They didn't rush me even though I was the last customer being served.

I do recommend you make an appointment prior to coming in. The staff does a great job of walking you thru the process and making sure you have a full understanding of why they are doing certain steps. As a bonus they always have great gifts as a perk to donating. On this visit I was given a beach blanket, a beach tote, a t-shirt, a 40oz cup and a meal. From check-in till the time I finished was a 45 minute process. The staff here are so so kind! Everyone is super friendly and have great attitudes. My personal phlebotomist who took care of me today did a wonderful job at providing great service. She was friendly, kind, very attentive to me. I have been donating my O-neg blood and plasma for many years after getting a pacemaker. I am 77…read moreyears old. My neighbor suggested I try BioLife, so I went to this location on Richmond Avenue. There was only one person at the Check-In counter so I had to wait 20 minutes. Once I checked in, which took 5 minutes, I waited another 5 minutes before seeing the first screening unit. The screening took about 5 minutes. I then waited for 10 minutes to visit with a nurse for a physical exam. The exam lasted only 5 minutes. The nurse told me I was not eligible to donate because I had a pacemaker. That's odd. I've been donating for years with a pacemaker without a single problem. I asked the nurse why the disqualification wasn't posted on their website. The nurse didn't apologize. So, I wasted $45 on Uber and 1 hour of waiting in lines just to be denied. This place was a zoo. They were short staffed which caused very long lines. I only met one staffer who was pleasant, the rest appeared to be rushed and unconcerned. One nurse appeared to be frantic while trying to move customers along. After witnessing all of this, I can't imagine why anyone would go here except those who were hard pressed to get some money. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll continue to donate for free at Gulf Coast Blood Centers where I'm surrounded by pleasant staff and get free snacks, including Otis Spunkmeyer cookies.
