My first thought was "oh god they're going to tell us paint whatever you want" and that's not what I was looking for - I expected more of a paint by numbers and was a little dismayed when I got a blank canvas! Felipe was our instructor and he made me feel totally at ease. He had a great personality and awesome sense of humor. He was totally accommodating of my ADD (The class can be a little slow at times) and encouraged me to get really creative with my artwork. We had such a fantastic time! I would totally recommend this to anyone who is just looking for something fun to do or someone who needs a good stress reliever. I personally am a fan of coloring to relieve my stress but this is definitely a much better and more fun option in my opinion, especially because there's alcohol involved! I will be coming back for sure! Thanks Felipe for being amazing!!! (I saw some of his personal artwork that he had on his phone and he is quite the phenomenal painter, not just some random dude they hired to teach the class).

We ran into a few snags at first because we Googled the address and it took us to a completely different place than the address that the Groupon listed. Good thing we checked-we were about to go knock on a random person's apartment door. We actually showed up to the studio early even with the delay, and that doesn't seem to be the trend. The other people in our party came a bit late because they had been pregaming a bit and the other 6 decided not to show at all. About 30-40 minutes after the official start time, Felipe decided to actually start the painting-and it's a good thing that he didn't wait for the rest of the class to show up. We wanted to paint a sailboat that we saw on the wall, but evidently since he was so sick of doing that particular one we played a little bit of improv. There was definitely people on the other side of me who ended up accidentally drinking their paint water instead of their wine and dunking their paintbrushes in wine. Having wine in cups instead of wine glasses (and next to paint water cups) is dangerous while drinking. We had a blast, Felipe is awesome and was drinking right along with us. He's very talented and clearly has fun doing what he does. The studio does adult parties with booze as well as a lot of parties for kids as well. I think this is an awesome way to relax and create something, even if you think you're not artistic. It's amazing to express yourself. Even if it ends up being an abstract.

IK has a great variety of programs, so your child can try gymnastics, parkour, martial arts, aerial silk, acro, tumbling, trampolines, kickboxing, ballet and more under one roof. They also offer after school care and pick-up, daily camps at no school days, and summer, winter and spring camp sessions for kids 3-15. My daughter is going Rhythmic gymnastics at IK Gym, and she is absolutely happy with her gymnastics classes and with her coaches. Each time she has a no school day all she wants is to spend the whole day in the gym. My 3 and 4 years old also love spending time at the gym when their daycare is closed. I'm really thankful to the staff for making sports so engaging - so my kids really love being active.

My daughter is 9 and my son is 4, I was so happy to see how many classes there were for both my kids that peaked there interests. The staff is very friendly and amazing with the kids, the facilities are very clean and even bigger vinous there is free coffee while you wait!!! What mom isn't stoked about relaxing with a cup of coffee and taking 60 min to themselves!!! There is a TV screen in the lobby where you can watch your kids practice and a area for little ones to play if they tagged along. The facility has a huge parking lot and a lot of street parking, when I picked my daughter up I was so happy to see how brightly the parking lot was lit and that there were many cameras watching the outside property!! Over all I give IKgym a 5 star rating because if I was a kid I would want to learn there and as a parent I feel my children are super safe and loved when they are there...

I had heard about what is called an "Eco experience education" through a kids meetup group I'm in…read moreand thought it would be fun to set up for my daughters Girl Scout troop. It was! Michelle, a marine biologist, runs these programs, and she was fantastic to work with. Our group did the "seine-sational field trip". We met at pelican harbor park at low tide and Michelle and an assistant waded into the water with our troop and nets to see what marine life we could find. The nets are emptied into either a bucket (for shells, grasses, etc) or a little aquarium that was set up on the beach. Once we had found enough Michelle brought out special water microscopes and leaflets and worked with the girls to identify what they found while sharing information in a fun and informative way. Michelle also makes sure that nothing is harmed or touched during this and all specimens are returned to the ocean. The girls had a blast and the parents where all so impressed by the program and Michelle that we are already planning which of her programs we want to do next and what week we want to send our kids to her summer camps. Prices for the programs vary depending on if you are a school, a non profit, a group or just an individual doing one of the open to the public times. As a group, we paid just under $15 a girl (adults were free) for this particular program, which was two hours long.
