I spoke with Demian and I was impressed with him and also liked that he came from Hawaii as I was from Hawaii too. The process was explained to me and was really easy. Service of process is as much an art as a science, but in my opinion, Matt only attempted the bare minimum "knock and leave" to attempt service of our papers. When the person on whom the papers were to be served didn't answer the door, Matt left. Since Matt was unable to accomplish a relatively simple serve, we had to take matters into our own hands. On our first attempt, we were able to serve the papers. When I called to inform Matt about this, and asked what techniques he used to get the defendant to come to the door, Matt criticized me for commenting on how he did his job. When I stated that I was a lawyer, and fully competent to comment on methods of service, and that I found his method lacking, he said, "you're nuts." I was calm and professional, but yes, I was critical. When my client has to pay my hourly rate to accomplish what should have been done two months ago, I feel justified in commenting on my vendor's performance. I know it's tough to find a good process server north of Sacramento, but I advise anyone reading this to look elsewhere.

I had to serve my Ex divorce paperwork and missed filling out some of the fields, Matt caught the discrepancy, got back to me quickly and I was able to get it corrected and back to him in a day or two. That saved me both the time and money of having to re-serve her later. His prices are reasonable and unlike some other places he'll keep trying "till the job is done" (as he says). I hope that I never have a need for this type of service again but if I or any of my family / friends ever do, I will call Matt Patterson!

I needed a process server for a small claims case, and found Legal One through Yelp. Celina was…read morequick to reply and serve the defendant but did not inform me that I needed to file the original forms with the courthouse myself or pay a filing fee thru Legal One. So court date came and went, and my case was thrown out because of bad service. This is my first small claims case, I never received a deposit return from a previous landlord and am now having to figure out the process to get the deposit back. I would have appreciated a little more info on what my next steps would have been after service, since she does this for a living. I would have paid the filing fee to save myself the headache. Instead I was just told "everyone knows that" over the phone in the courthouse. But, aside from that, but the original forms she supposedly mailed to me never arrived. So even if I knew what to do with them, I don't have them. And on top of it all I'm out another $60 because I was refused a refund, I have to pay ANOTHER process server to do this whole thing again along with the court fees, and I have to take another day off work. Last Thursday I went in with an express envelope a friend had already provided postage for. My intent was to just drop it off for mail pick up. My friend's post office in SoCal used international postage and this caused quite an upset to Jessica. Jessica check the amount was correct but was just unsure. I told her I was willing to put it another envelope and pay the higher postal annex cost (nearly double the postage on the envelope). She insisted she wanted to check with USPS that would pick up and would call me. Her intensity around it triggered a customer behind me to say "couldn't she just take it to the post office." I told him I enjoy the convenience of this Postal Annex. She did call me later and was unsure. By then I had spoken with my friend and explained to Jessica that the post office placed the postage. She decided it would be ok and would send it out. This was priority mail and by Monday my friends post office had not received it. I called the annex to inquire if they MIGHT have scanned. A different employee said no but she would check with her driver on Wed as he did scan it. On Tuesday, I get an unsolicited, agitated call from Jessica saying she had a note, basically super pissy at me that no one scanned it, why would they, etc. I was like hey "I just called to see if you might have scanned it since I told you it needed to be there next day. I wish I had just put it a new envelope and paid the $50. But you talked me out of doing that." She began to deny that she had done so and continued her intensity over the scanning and international stamps. So I ended the call and this ends my years of use and adoration for this small, local business.

I have been to this store on a few occasions and been disappointed with the service and the…read morecharges. This last week I went in to purchase one single stamp to mail a letter. The price for one single stamp is $.078. I was charged $1.25 which is a $.047 or 60% markup. When I said something about the price the two males behind the counter started laughing and speaking in a language that was not English and so I did not understand what was being said. That is offensive! No thank you. I have a printer it's cheaper to use pirate ship to purchase postage and ship packages. I'll drop them off to the UPS store though, they can manage that part, hopefully laughing the whole way. :)
