I see nothing wrong with what I witnessed. Parents don't do their jobs, then store owners must step in. I would love to visit Ellie's shop more. If you go during the week you might luck out with free two hour parking in the afternoon. She mentioned there is parking lot close to the store for 25 cents an hour. Diving Cat is a seriously eclectic, funky, new-age-y, hippie store with lots of cool jewelry, home items, art, candles, soaps, perfumes, statues, even mobiles and prisms. The store does a very good job grouping items by category - Namaste and Yoga in one area, Judacia in another, items related to cats, items related to dogs, mystical items, etc. Yeah, just my kind of place. The store has a good deal of inventory and it's not very large, but it's not uncomfortable unless it's very crowded. They even have "Honey" seats outside for partners who are waiting for the other to finish oohing and aahing. Staff were nice, unobtrusive but helpful when needed. I got some very delicious smelling perfume in a steampunk - cool flask and a badass name (OK badass for a mid-life Main Line Mom). It's in 'downtown' Phoenixville, on the same block as the Colonial Theater. Parking is street and tight, better to find a lot just off the 'main drag' and walk. That was how I found Artisans Nest. I raced over there, trying to make it before they closed. My darn maps app told me they were on the wrong side of the road - long story short, I missed them. There was a woman walking up the sidewalk who saw me. Turns out she worked there and had just closed up. She let me in and showed me where the wallets were. I found two that I love and they were even on sale. She went out of her way and I truly appreciate it. Her shop is small and packed with wonderful handmade things from all over the world. I have already made a date with a friend to head back over to check it out when we have more time. I saw lots of great gift ideas!
