It's slightly scary when someone you've known for only a little while says "I know a place you'll absolutely love" but won't tell you what it is. Also with a name like Diving Cat Studio what the store is is a bit oblique...is it a pet store? A gallery? OK, go with it. Yeah, they were spot-on. Diving Cat is a seriously eclectic, funky, new-age-y, hippie store with lots of cool jewelry, home items, art, candles, soaps, perfumes, statues, even mobiles and prisms. The store does a very good job grouping items by category - Namaste and Yoga in one area, Judacia in another, items related to cats, items related to dogs, mystical items, etc. Yeah, just my kind of place. The store has a good deal of inventory and it's not very large, but it's not uncomfortable unless it's very crowded. They even have "Honey" seats outside for partners who are waiting for the other to finish oohing and aahing. Staff were nice, unobtrusive but helpful when needed. I got some very delicious smelling perfume in a steampunk - cool flask and a badass name (OK badass for a mid-life Main Line Mom). It's in 'downtown' Phoenixville, on the same block as the Colonial Theater. Parking is street and tight, better to find a lot just off the 'main drag' and walk. There is so much wonderful packed in this small store! I wandered in looking for Christmas presents and was not disappointed. There is a wide variety of items (jewelry, books, puzzles, ornaments, pottery, candles) at very reasonable price points. The staff is friendly and welcoming, happy to answer questions. I believe they were having a ladies night event so keep your eyes out for special events. This is a highlight of Bridge Street. read more

What an amazing incredible store. So visually appealing! There are so many unique and quality things for sale. There is so much to look at that you could be there for hours and still not see everything. I was so intrigued. I met the owner and he was an amazing kind hearted person. A couple he knew came in and told him they had just gotten married and he popped open champagne for the shoppers in the store! He said he's been known to do that from time to time. I found a lovely jacket from Nepal it was red with a sun design on the front and rainbow sleeves. I've been eying these garments up in similar stores in Jim Thorpe and the one offered here was 42$. I couldn't resist! I've never seen this price point elsewhere - not even close! SOLD!!They had my size and I loved it! My friend found a super cool yoga style sweat shirt with a tree design. They even gift wrap too! I can't wait to go back! I loved shopping here. Wonderful store with splendid items. You'll be intrigued and see the most unique pieces. The owner told us they travel the world and they support various artists. It's worth dealing with the parking if you only go to this store. read more

The owners were the most lovely people I'd met; they asked us all about our little love story, helped us find gifts and trinkets for our loved ones, and overall just left my fiancé and I feeling so happy we wandered into their store!
