Cat's birthing class was amazing prep for my husband and I. We love information and having full understanding of what is going on, so feeling very ready to take on any birthing scenario in the hospital was important to us, as we live in a large metropolitan area. This class was informative and Cat is super enthusiastic, engaging, and down to earth, so it was very relatable and easy to take in the very detailed info. Information is all evidence based and designed to be able to participate fully in your own birthing care, advocate for yourself, and have full understanding of the birthing process. My hospital birth ended up needing many medically necessary interventions, and this class empowered us to make confident and fearless decisions for ourselves. Because of what we already knew from this class, we felt very comfortable with our care team and the information exchanges surrounding the events. Without this class, this experience may have been scary and traumatic, but the education we received in preparation made it feel very empowering and seamless. Our Doula recommended Cat when we were having trouble finding a good birthing education class before our baby's due date. We took a 4-week accelerated class. It covered a lot of material, which we were thankful to have to help understand the process for our first birth at a hospital. We are aiming for low-intervention methods of delivery. As a first time mom I was looking for support during my pregnancy and delivery - specifically classes and a Doula. Thankfully we found Cats group. My husband and I decided we wanted to attempted an unmedicated hospital birth. We took the evidence based birth class series with Cat and hired a Doula, Dara, through her group. I am absolutely confident that we would not have had the birth experience we planned without the classes and our doula. The evidence based birth class is so unique. We were armed with so much information about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As a first time mom I was nervous about possible interventions suggested by my doctors and nurses. The classes gave me the confidence to have an open conversation with my providers about my birth and make the best decision for myself and my daughter. This was even for small like wearing my own gown to the hospital. I felt so in control of my daughters birth and I 100 percent contribute this to the evidence based birth class. Hiring a doula was the best decision. Cat walked us through the process and we interviewed a few doulas and selected the one that was the best fit for us- Dara. We were able to have someone in the room that was 100 percent dedicated to supporting us. Our nurses were great but they had other patients. Dara stayed with us the entire time and helped us navigate the birth process. She was incredible. Cat opened up a new world for me and my husband on our path to parenthood. We feel extremely supported and empowered. If you are looking for someone to help you understand your options and supports available to you Cat is your person. I found Cat through recommendations from my office and contacted her because I was interested in finding a doula. My husband and I attended her Demystifying Your Hospital Birth workshop and we learned so much! We both feel a little more at ease now and are excited to learn more. My husband and I are currently pregnant with our rainbow baby. We lost our first daughter, Noelle, at 30 weeks gestation after an emergency c-section. That being said, we obviously have a lot of anxiety about this labor and wanted to be fully prepared. Cat was wonderful! We did a private at home labor class with her. She reminded us that this is a new baby, a new experience, a new journey. Our sweet Noelle will always be with us of course but this labor is about this baby. She walked us through every step of the process and eased my fears about trying for a VBAC. She came with evidence as to why VBAC is safe and also why more women should be attempting VBACs. I felt very comfortable asking her questions and being open with her. She knows her stuff!! I overheard my husband on the phone the next day talking to one of his friends about the class. I heard him explaining that he now feels so much more prepared and "more a part" of the process which warmed my heart! She discusses not only what the woman's body will go through but what your partner can expect and how they can help in each stage of labor. I feel so much better heading into the final weeks of my pregnancy (17 days to be exact!) with this knowledge fresh in my head! She gave me birthing positions and tons of information! We signed up for the Labor of Love class offered at the Village in Collingswood. Both Cat and Carrie brought so much experience to this class, offering evidence based techniques on how to work through labor, and empowered all of the mommas-to-be with knowledge on how to advocate for yourself during your own labor experience in a traditional medical setting. Up until two years ago, I didn't even want kids, but now I feel empowered by this whole experience, and confident that my husband and I are ready for this lifelong commitment. This class really put us in a good spot to mentally prepare for the next month, and we feel we now have the tools to get through labor and beyond. read more

Cat and the EBB class were excellent resources for me and my husband as first-time parents. We found the in-person and virtual classes to be informative, personable, and relaxed enough for us to feel comfortable asking questions and discussing different opinions before labor. The classes offered at our hospital were too short and fast-paced to allow time to process all the information. The online videos were also great to watch and re-watch as we got closer to the big day. I wish we could have continued access to them beyond the course and initial fee. Our doula, who we hired through Cat, also helped us during individual meetings and in-person during early labor- she still texts us resources and checks in two months postpartum. My husband and I felt prepared and ready to advocate for our needs throughout the birthing process and boy, was it a long one (~36 hours with many twists and turns). Best class was the in-person comfort measures and best videos were the fourth trimester/how to care for baby. Best takeaway was to be flexible and open to adjusting our birth plan, which we definitely did! Also didn't feel pressure from the class or our doula in pursuing medical interventions, which is not always the case elsewhere. Would love to see added resources for postpartum physical care and lactation support. Thanks for everything, and remember, babies aren't pizzas! :) read more
