I have never experienced such a level of unprofessionalism in my life. My apartment had a fire detector that was expired in 2010. A expired fire extinguisher. roaches, mice, they promise to fix things and never do it. my ceiling caved in due to dry rot and I have never seen such a disgusting wall in my life. I have been extremely sick since I have since I've moved in here I've lost about 30 pounds. About an hour after my ceiling caved in my cat had a seizure I called the vet and they said it was more than likely due to collapse I called emergency maintenance before it claps and said it was emergent because it was leaking onto the baseboards fire hazard they showed up two hours later I had the police here first to get the fire department here. Do not recommend I am filing complaints against the licenses of the listing agents I am filing suit for this being uninhabitable I've asked for things to be fixed again they were uninhabitable per PA tenant lol they should be fixed within a reasonable amount of time I do not recommend this place I recommend that this place be condemned I'm having a Township come inspect this place zero out of 10 I can get a negative review I would. read more

So an update.....following my first review here, I decided to also submit my complaint to the BBB and the PA attorney general's office. I did not want to go that route, but I was not getting anywhere with the property manager. Since doing that, I did get a call from what I am assuming was upper managment who informed me that they would NOT be charging me a lease breakage fee. From the phone conversation, I do not think the property manager ever let upper managment know as they told me they should have been made aware of this complaint long ago. The lady I spoke with from I guess corporate was very nice and apologetic. I am giving it a 3 stars now as the company itself (corporate) was professional, sincere, and addressed my complaint even though it took several complaints to get it taken care of. However, I don't completely blame corporate so much as the property manager as again, it seemed corporate was never made aware of this situation. read more

First off, my review is only based on my own experience, it's not to negate anyone else's, good or bad. That said, the experience I've had with Bishop Hill was very pleasant from start to finish. I moved out of my previous house at the end of September 2017, and didn't move into my new home until November 2017, so I had to secure a short term lease (which wasn't an easy task). I settled on Bishop Hill because the location was very convenient, and that it seemed to be a well-maintained community. Carlie, my rep, quickly responded to my many questions and offered me a three month lease (I wanted month-to-month, but I guess 3 months is better than 12!). One of the first questions I asked was about any potential pest problems in the units. I've never had that problem in any home I've lived in, so that was a major concern of mine. They didn't guarantee I wouldn't have any, but did tell me that maintenance would respond quickly if there were any such issues. Fortunately, my unit was pest free the entire time I was there! The apartment was completely modernized, and I really felt I spent a couple of months in a nice hotel. I did have one issue...I came home one day and all my electricity was shut off! True to their word though, I called Debbie, the manager, and Lou came over and fixed the problem, literally within 5 minutes. I can't thank Carlie, Wanda, and Debbie enough for the experience I've had there. It was my first apartment experience in over 15 years (hopefully my last one), but if I had to do it again, I would go back to Bishop Hill without hesitation. I have lived at the property for over 7 years. It is the best place I have ever lived at. They have an exterminator on site. Anytime I had an issue that needed an exterminator they were there within that week period or with in 24 hours. Maintenance is great! Every time I had an issue with anything, whether emergency or not they were there to help me and fix the problem. I am always nice to them and they are always nice to me. The property is at a great location. The price for what you receive is a great deal since everything is included and you have access to a pool and a gym. I think all these negative comments I'm reading has to do with a lot of angry personal issues, more than the reality of things in their life. read more

YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE! Let me just tell you how this place is just SOOOOOO disgusting and not to mention horrific. It's Infested with TONS of mice, it has mold, dust and so much more. I've had to put in countless maintenance requests as there was always an issue with the heat not working, toilet running or something being wrong with the hot water. Oh and when you turn the water on, you get a disgusting sewage smell coming out of the pipes. Also, their BLDG washers and dryers are from Caleco and there was always an issue with the Dryer breaking where I had to email them numerous times. If you don't want to deal with the issues I mentioned above, then STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE! Update - I will say now trying to resolve all my issues with this apartment - the maintenance men are amazing - always there when u call and if they don't have the right stuff they order it right away .. The head maintenance guy with the white truck - out of all bishop hill- I would give him a five!! Always comes in happy very polite hard worker .. Within 2 weeks of living at Apt, roaches swarming over entire place. Men quickly came to fumigate place & brought dogs to sniff for bed bugs. Within 2 months, bed bugs were everywhere with blood on sheets & pillows & while mgmt. Said "aw shit!"'there wasn't much they could do except go thru the "process" of fumigating entire place, while we were given instructions on how to wash our clothes in hit water, etc etc. Now we know why the dumpsters are filled with mattresses and sofas and other furniture - this place is a nightmare!! We've had roaches the size of small ponies, now bed bugs with teeth like saw blades. We've slept on beach chairs and even in the bath tub, figuring we're safe. Meanwhile, legally, we're stuck & can't break the lease. Horror show. Stay away, stay far far away. read more

The number 1 issue with this apartment is the office staff! They are all smiles and friendly when you're signing a lease. Once in they talk rudely and down to you as if you are bothering them by having questions/complaints. They love to argue with tenets and never admit wrong doing. Wanda is the least knowledgeable person in the office. she'll tell you one thing and another staff member will tell you another. The manager Mary A. is the rudest of them all, which is probably why that office culture is acceptable. The entire staff needs to be wiped out and diversified. Do away with the office full of old ladies that likes to down talk tenants. Karlie threw Wanda under the bus, when I told them I feel like their staff is unprofessional. she quickly said "that"s not me" as if Wanda is the rude one. When I ask for copies of my documents I was told No and hung up on by Mary the manager. The old manager was the nicest of the company that I encountered there. she tried to help resolve my concerns when I was trying to move out. This new one is trash. Now to the apartment. Only positive which is what sold me it the layout is nice. The walls are paper thin and the building shakes terribly when people walk. There are stress cracks up and down the walls throughout the apartment. There are a massive number of centipedes in the apartment. Extermination services are a joke. the guy came and put down 2 sticky traps. Repair work is below standards. my shower was broke for at least 3 months. my toilet was also broken for at least 2 months. It was a family of squirrels living under a hole in the balcony. The apartments are over priced given that they are not renovated. Someone moves out, less than 2 weeks a new person is in. There is no recycle receptacles at the apartment. Soon as I seen how the staff treated me that pushed me to buy my house. Its the best decision I made. Don't attempt to live here because they will definitely try to run over you. read more
