Starts off in a cavern that served as a wine cellar, then you make your way up to several floors of medieval times exhibits. The day we went the elevator wasn't working so you had to take the narrow set of stairs to get up and down, which made it very busy when there was a school field trip going through. Overall it's a nice exhibit. You have to enjoy history if you want to enjoy museums typically. The surrounding area around the museum is also nice to check out.

The lift was out of order so some climbing was involved, but nothing too bad. There were short films to watch and a variety of items, including primary documents. Good to visit if you like history and reading about the different things. Only walked the other museums but you can pay to visit all of them, too.

This was quite the delightful museum in one of the main churches in downtown Kilkenny. We made an…read moreappointment for a tour, a couple weeks ahead of time, it had a very nice time seeing the grounds. As with most places in Ireland, there is an incredible amount of history that had occurred just in the immediate vicinity. We learned about the history of the church, the area, the people who had built it, and the people who have kept it running. There were some pretty amazing artifacts that had come from the grounds, primarily during renovations, and some incredibly ornate headstones. The whole tour lasted about an hour, was contained within the church and the courtyard, and there were also some fun Legos that were hidden throughout the place that kept our kids entertained. Don't forget to go in the upper room. It has a beautiful view out to the city! All in all, this is a great spot and well worth your time.

Reginald's Tower was originally built as a Viking fort for defense. If you go across the street by the water, you can see a cannonball that is still stuck in the facade. Inside, there's a small museum where you can learn more about it's history.

At the beginning of your tour, you receive a boarding pass-a replica of an actual passenger on the ship-and you follow their journey through the museum. You see where the different classes would have slept, dined and spent time being entertained. At the end, you can find out if your passenger survived or not. The museum itself is a little light, but does have some interesting things on exhibit. However, knowing that you're in the exact spot that passengers would have queued up to board is where the draw is. Such a tragedy and it's nice to be able to honor those people and learn more about their individual experiences.

Excellent tour of the Dunbrody! Our guide, Adam, and the two re-enactors were perfect. We received…read morea great deal of information about the Dunbrody, and the living conditions onboard the voyage to Savannah. The actors represented a first class passenger and steerage passenger with her baby, talking to us in the middle of steerage quarters. They were wonderful! After Adam and the actors, we toured the quarantine area and quarters for first class passengers. We also posed by the bell and steering wheel. The section after the tour was a revelation of Irish who immigrated to United States - Maureen O'Hara, Walt Disney, JFK's great grandfather, and so many others. The gift shop had reasonably priced souvenirs. We bought shirts, necklaces, chocolate and a polo shirt for under $74. Leaving the ship area, we admired the emigrant flame, lit from the eternal flame at JFKs' sure in DC.

Took the guided tour which was very nice, house is large and was the site of an agricultural college, there are some exhibits before the guided tour that you can go through that will give you a sense of the history of the area and what Irish farmers endured. Surrounded by beautiful grounds and gardens this trip is well worth 3 or 4 hours of your time. Gift shop and small cafe with reasonable prices and good food.

As our tour group visited Waterford Crystal last week, our guide mentioned that a 9/11 memorial had…read morejust been dedicated at a museum across the street. We checked it out and learned the memorial was pretty much brand new - just being dedicated on September 16, 2018. The memorial contains a small steel beam from one of the WTC towers sitting at an angle on a grid-work metal support that resembles what the towers looked like before that terrible day. It's located on the second level at Bishop's Palace, in the Menapia Plaza. It's a very pretty setting, on an oval shaped lawn ringed by shrubs, flowers and benches. A wall plaque nearby reads: September 11th, 2001 Lest We Forget This piece of steel was retrieved from the ruins of the World Trade Centre. It serves as a memorial to the many lives that were lost during the terrorist attacks on 11th September 2001. Unveiled 16th September by Cllr. Declan Doocey Mayor of the City and County of Waterford
