Alan-Smith was one of the first places that I went to... but thankfully they weren't the only place. Steer clear, and just go direct to Progressive if you want an actual quote. After a few back-and-forth emails with Alan-Smith, they gave me a "quote" based on a perfectly clear driving record. Now, I'm not the devil, but I don't have an angel's driving record - I also don't have every detail of my history tracked for the last 5 years. That's what the DMV is for. Alan-Smith refused to pull records for my quote, instead saying that they could "pull the record at the time of sale"... which I guess would mean that I'd give them a blank check, and then they'd make up a new premium for me later? No thank you. I'll go with a company that can give me a firm price. You know... like every other business in the country. - Ben

Other insurers just said they couldn't help us, but Tina worked hard to find an insurer and got us a good policy. I've had USAA for decades and used to be very happy with them, but as they have gotten more automated it's been unpleasant to deal with them. Tina is personable, knowledgeable, and very hard working. I don't provide reviews usually but all three of these situations were handled so fast and so professionally! I couldn't be more pleased with how it worked out. Michele's team was great. I did have to wait on the contractor for repairs and the building of my custom cabinet at my house for longer than I wanted (contractor overbooked, not farmers mistake ) but the drying out process was handled as an emergency and the contractor was there within hours.
