When my husband called for reservations they said that they were very busy but could fit us in if we came right away.
As we entered the restaurant there was a very strong cooking smell of oil and fish. It was heavy and not a pleasant greeting. The server was very friendly and pleasant throughout the evening. They did get very busy during the evening and it seemed to be mostly locals. We had a bottle of wine with dinner. My husband had the soup of the day made with chanterelle mushrooms. It was served with a great tasting piece of garlic bread. The soup itself had pieces of meat in it that my husband felt detracted from the soup. He would rather have just had the mushrooms in the soup. For entrees I had the strip loin steak special with hunter sauce. It was delicious and cooked just as requested. My husband had the barbecue ribs and they were very tender and flavourful.
The room is very nice, the service was terrific and the food was very good. It is good value for the money. If they could only do something about the ventilation to manage the cooking smells from the kitchen it would really add to the enjoyment of the dining experience. read more
